A republic is a type of democracy. The roots of the words give that away. Democracy comes from Greek Demos (people) and kratos (system) and republic comes from Latin res (thing, system etc) and publicus (people). But don't take my word for it. Nearly every president has referred to the US as a democracy including Republican presidents Eisenhower, Nixon, Ford, Reagan, both Bushes and ... even Donald Trump.

Just 0.02 percent of the people arrested by Border Patrol for crossing illegally possessed any fentanyl whatsoever.
