- I'm so excited to share my journey with you - a journey towards finding happiness through minimalism. For a long time, I believed that the more possessions I had, the happier I would be. But as I accumulated more and more stuff, I realized that the opposite was true. The more I had, the more stressed and overwhelmed I became.
That's when I started exploring the concept of minimalism and how it could help me simplify my life and find greater joy in the present moment. Through trial and error, I discovered that letting go of excess and focusing on what truly mattered - relationships, experiences, personal growth and nature - was the key to unlocking a deeper sense of contentment and fulfillment.
In this video, I share my personal journey of embracing a more minimalistic lifestyle. To eventually live my dream - a dream of freedom and fulfillment!

The perfect definition of freedom is to do what you want to. I feel so trapped in my life, and a bit lost in this world. I do not like my job, longing for nature and doing art. But you know what? Sometimes we can not really change the circumstances. We have to take care for childrens, paying bills and so on. Like I said trapped. One way is to enjoy as much time as possible with things which make us happy. ❤
I'm sorry to hear you feel trapped. I can really relate to that feeling! But just like you're saying, we can't always change the circumstances. What's important then, and always really, is to be thankful for what we DO have! It's so easy to focus on what we want, that we forget to focus on what we do have and appreciate! Lake family, friends etc! ❤️ I think that's why dogs are always so happy - they live in the now, appreciating what's right in front of them! 🥰

We share the same dream, and affection for beauty and minimalism.
I found my dream in a place equally as beautiful as Sweden. I live in Alaska, America's "Last Frontier."
I embraced minimalism about three years ago. It's a gradual process, but one with many rewards. My home has much fewer possessions. Nothing thrills me more than playing the piano and watching it silently snow, or, waking up early, grabbing a coffee, and walking on virgin snow on a snowy beach with no one around for miles. That is the essence of Alaska.
The town I live in, Juneau, has 33,000 people, and surrounded by saltwater and glaciers. It is landlocked. You can only get here by boat or plane, and we love it. The nearest larger city is 700 miles north or 900 miles south. That's how secluded I am.
I will never live in a large city again.

Just like you're saying, its much better to do it even though things can be uncertain, rather than doing nothing. I'm thinking of when Alex moved here. Things were uncertain, we didn't know how it would go. But we're SO GLAD, both of us, that we did move in together - even though it eventually ended. Such a reminder that we have to do what feels right in our guts!

Dear Daniel, I found this video to be the most valuable of the 29 that I have seen and enjoyed to the full. I watched the newest ones first and always go back to them.
It is the most valuable for me because I am also at this point in my life again, where I am drawn back to the simplicity of nature. I grew up relatively simply on a farm in the mountains in a large family. It was a wonderful time for me. Not as primitive as you are in the north. Later, as a young woman, I moved on my own to a rural area that was also relatively simple. But then I longed for a partner because I sometimes felt lonely. I met my current husband, with whom I have two children. But he didn't want to live as simply as I did back then.
The children are now 10 and 12 years old, and in the neighborhood where we live, it is so noisy, impersonal and selfishness and indifference have a lot of room. That's why I want to move back to a rural area to be much closer to nature and participate in it. But as a family, it's a different process.
In all your videos, you always spoke to me from my heart, which is why they do me so much good right now. My dream of moving back to the countryside is so deep that it's just a matter of time.
Dear Daniel, I am amazed! The Intro is SO EXTREMLY good and made me cry.
I love how day by day everything was the same and somehow you rushed through this monotony. This is exactly how the citylife feels. You keep on doing the same boring and meaningless stuff day in, day out, working through your endless to do list, never taing the time to breath and still, even though you do the same for years, the ratrace is moving faster and faster. I love how you, at the end only catched glimpses, how the people became blurry.

Thank you, Laura! Yes, most of us just keep on going, business as usual. I've been - and still are to some degree - guilty of that. Because that's what's easy, and that's what society tells us to do.

Hello Daniel! I like the concept of minimalism! Your video reminded me of my totally happy childhood when we made snowmen in winter and skated with friends on the frozen river and then returned to my grandmother's house who already had the fireplace on and warm! This fantastic noise of burning wood and knowing that someone who loves you is waiting for you! It is wonderful to find greater joy in the present moment!😍😍😍
Aww, that's such a lovely memory, I'm sure! Grandmothers give us so much love! I used to sleep over at my grandma every weekend as a kid, together with my cousin. She made us pancakes, we baked mud cake and played piano and stuff. So many dear memories! 🥰

We would also love to live somewhere in nature full-time or at least at our country house. That really is freedom as you said 😊 Of course the problem is money because one needs food, pay for utilities (mainly some kind of heating in winter), property taxes and so on, it's never completely free, the government always wants something. I envy people who can have online jobs and live wherever they want to...

Great topic Daniel. Loved the first minutes of your video (and of course the rest of it), where you capture the precise day of many peoples lives. I myself would love to live in a nice and calm area, close to nature, but I'm trapped in a city. It's very stressful, but I and most people need to pay bills. We can't always decide how and with whom we spend our days (at work for instance😉). Freedom is actually important to me. Benjamin Franklin said: most people die with 25 and aren't buried until they are 75. I think it's great you are taking the chance to live your dreamlife and I agree with what you are saying. The beginning of this video is my daily routine as well! I do try to find some moments of slowness in peace in my daily life, but it’s often hard with the amount of work I put in!
One thing I really love about your videos as I really feel your sensitivity coming through. I would love to live in a place like that in the country. I wish I could have a job.
Daniel, first I have to say I love your voice and accent, it's so soothing 😌 the intro was just amazing. It resonated so much when you said you can be yourself in nature, in a way you cannot be in a city. Sometimes it feels like the only purpose of cities is to drain people's energy for the purpose of the 'economy'. It's so easy to lose yourself when you are just one in a sea of workers. Living the same routine every day in stacked boxes we call apartments, disconnected from nature, becoming more and more numb.

To be honest I turned off the video last time as I saw the 1st few seconds, but this time I waited to get to know your life & I am glad I did because when you moved to this beautiful view i was in awe. And this made me ponder if I can't watch you doing the same stuff indoor over & over, why am I doing the same. I need to incorporate more new moments of being in nature even if it means spending more time with my plants, seeing sunset, walking at night looking at the moon. So thank you this video made me see my daily life as a movie & I realised currently it's not the one I would want to watch. But at the same time i am inspired to get out a bit more to add little magic or beauty.

Another awesome video. Getting out in nature is good for us. While I live in the suburbs I'm very lucky to have a huge lake just a 5 min walk away so I can get in a little dose of nature every day.

@@DanielErik Oh sadly it's not a very clean lake so you wouldn't want to swim in it. Luckily we have our own pool for that. And in about 6 months we'll be moving and will be a short walk to the ocean - still need that daily dose of nature :-).

Very wisely said - we live more having less! Second hand is pop! Fight towards Your dream, it will be worth it. I live with my husband and four dogs in a little village in Finnish countryside working very long entrepeneur hours in the summertime and then around eight months off. This was so good to watch Daniel , the simpler life is the better life and getting off the treadmill of what society makes us think we have to do and be, is the best way to be the most free. This video was really exciting to watch . Since we got married and had kids we have tried to live as simply as we can and not get tied to working for things and expensive holidays, but to live life outside to the full. Living and not just existing ! You live in a very beautiful area like we do here in North Wales and I love where you plan to live full time :) ~ Anna 👍

Wow Daniel! This video blew me away! I have not watched your videos for a while, or any content creator in this field, because I was so disconnected from myself that I couldn't take it in like usual. The way this video started was so professional and captivating with all the different sound effects and clips, well done! After being away for a bit, I notice your growth even more. 🤗
After a few minutes in, I started crying. Thank you for the inspiration❤ 3 weeks ago, I got dismissed from my new job at the end of the 6 month probation time. While it was a shock at first, it was actually a blessing, because that job made me disconnect from myself and it took all my energy and inspiration away. As you may have noticed, I have been away from CZcams for half a year, and this is why. I am slowly recovering and already making plans for a new video, and it feels good to be "back". ☺
I understand why you think minimalism will make you happier. I often feel like I have too much stuff in my posession, I don't even use most of it, and it can be distracting and make it difficult to take care of everything (for example too many items filling up my apartment). I have attachment issues with the things I own, so it will probably be a big journey for myself one day to let some of them go 🙈 I fully agree with buying things second hand, I have been doing this for years now!! I rarely buy clothes anymore cause I own way more than I need, but if I do (for example for a dress that I would like to use in a video), I always use an app where people sell their things second hand. It feels great to only pay a few euros and also re-use something that is still in perfectly fine condition, and I also love if things have a history, like those old swedish country houses you talked about 🤗

Sadly I most likely have to look for some other job, I can only hope that I find something which is less draining and a little more fitting, I don't want to get so lost and disconnected again. Until then I get some support from the Jobcenter here, it's not much/ not enough for the expenses I have (like paying for my old and sick horse), but I'm working on ways of a small side income. Even though it is difficult, I still feel so much better 🤗
