- Hackers in Sea of Thieves. Cheaters. Whatever you want to call them it is wild! These hackers are coming back in Season 8 because it is the newest pvp mode to come to Sea of Thieves and they want to troll people!

There were definitely cheaters before Season 8, but they were mostly closet cheaters with ESP but it was no where near this amount for sure.
They were all busy in Arena, but Arena shut down and now we got this lol.

@@forgotten8936 yea even in Arena though the cheats weren’t this bad. Now that gold and streaks are at stake they come out the woodworks to ruin ppls streaks
The ones that worry me the most are the smart/clever cheaters. That is, the ones who don’t use the cheats in an overt way to troll; but rather subtly, and just enough to gain advantages without being obvious.
Yea that’s how these guys were trying to be until I called em out on the cheating. Then they just said F it and showed us what they can do! Like the ram and board. They tryna act like they’re normal players
At the moment, i dont think subtle cheaters even exist - why hide what you are doing when you can simply press a few buttons and sink your enemy instantly, or throw them off the entire map. We are in a state where cheaters are so blatant and have so much power that any cheater not using those blatant effects is going to be forced to - its an arms race that has already started using superweapons.
NA East server player here and I've been seeing that ladder grab thing a lot. IDK if it actually makes you invisible or not, myself. But I know that it will immediately teleport them to the top. I believe they can use that quick grab mechanic to clip into your sloops wall between quest table and the bed. I had one shooting me through the wall by the stairs from inside. I got a couple of hit-markers at one point, but idk if it actually did any damage.
Yea the instant ladder is a hack they stole the code from Phantoms! And wall hacks are a thing. A few of the cheats allow them to literally shoot through walls! There r so many programs for cheats now it’s hard to keep track even!
@@ColonelDeMoss holy wow.. I searched what the new best money makers are in sot about a month and a half ago as I had been playing other games and was outta the loop. I searched sot gold on CZcams and found 14 pages of this 00:24 long advertisement for free cheats. I reported them all for spam as it was all the same video. I checked the next day and they seemed to be gone. But it’s really no wonder we’re seeing this many.

It's been rampant since the start of Season 8. Cheaters don't care man, and neither does Rare. Rare hasn't even addressed it, it's like the elephant in the room right now. SoT was slowly dying already, but cheaters are accelerating that death now. Community Day is going to be ridiculous. There are a lot of cheaters talking about how they are going to ruin it, since Ancient Skeletons are involved. Not that it mattered anyway, because so far, every single community day has been a shit show and not worked for a huge portion of the community anyway. Rare is a joke.

@@ColonelDeMoss well sounds like they are absolutely watching the content creators who are putting out proof like this and banning - though I don't suspect we'll learn much about what Rare will do, just to prevent cheaters from circumventing it.

Yea we got these guys our first fight, then again on the 3rd fight and "they were looking for us," its crazy!
Sea of Thieves is full of them, I stopped playing because nothing is done about it, problem is bigger than you could know.
It's a huge problem atm. I've seen all manner of cheats. Rare need to up their game!

Well, I encountered an unkillable guy (Literally slashed him 10 times with a sword after a sniper shot) who manage to make our galleon go for an orbital trip... Yeah, could be worse.

This is a big problem there are way to many hacker rn in the past week I’ve found 10 hackers one was a solo sloop and the ship didn’t even take any dmg it was unfazed
And the big thing is all of them are just fresh accounts that get free game pass for a month I think and they download hacks to it
@@janm.berrios2634 Yea it's even easier than that. There are ways to get past it with steam, just make a new account. Its that simple. So reporting them does nothing in reality because they just make a new account

They will never stop hackers as long as this game is free on game pass. I've ran across people with 10+ accounts. They get caught, banned and just get another free xbox account and wa-la, free sot on gamepass
True as well as the bypass on steam...
Don't know if these guys were cheating but had a Galleon somehow track and catch up to me from the bottom of the map to where I was at the very top, they were grade 5 reapers but I didn't have an emissary active. No lanterns, no loot on my boat to give my position away, nothing but they beelined it straight to my position and caught up within about a minute. All on community day.
yea that's the hard part is you don't ever really know if they are hacking unless things get real wild but even then it was hard to see some of these things until slowed down
I stopped playing the game back in the fall of 2021. I got back on and played a quick voyage once about a week ago, but since then I haven’t gotten back on.
Seeing all the scripties running, with what is essentially developer mode on just makes me not want to play the game in the slightest, and I don’t even do hourglass content. I’m just going to stick to Baro until Rare decides to get off their asses and fix their shit

@@ColonelDeMoss honestly I’m not holding my breath anymore. Rare haven’t even hinted at the issue, and the few ban waves they’ve orchestrated didn’t stop them from just bypassing the Redbeard.
At this point Rare only has one real option, and that’s to find a way to take down the providers of the cheat engines these smooth brains have been using. Unless their working on some massive Anti-cheat overhaul, I don’t see this problem going away for a bit
@@mr.joestar7500 yea I hear you and have to agree. Now I did hear as of recent they partner with another company that has good anti cheat. I’m drawing a blank on who it was but hopefully they do help them with anti cheat

When the game was released and since i didnt understand nothing i cheated whit a trash esp external, even so, many people instakilled me and didnt know why, thank god that idiot (Me) evolved and i havent used cheats for 2 years, i was able to learn to play Well and im a legendary pirate. What i emphasize is that sometimes i can understand that if you give people the opportunity they take advantage of it, it is not good or ideal but it happens, and recently in pvp i found many destructive hackers (Aimbot, godmod, auto explosive barrel etc. )

@@ColonelDeMoss Not only because of what you say, i abandoned the account in which i "hack", but at one point i felt bad and even in my stupidity i believed that the best thing was to create another account and buy ancient coins for "support the game and rare in the development", maybe my intention was always there, i was just an idiot who didnt understand the game, i regret it a lot even though it was only 1 month xd
@@daxsax yea I mean I can’t speak for everyone but I have had my moments of cheating. More fighting fire with fire but honestly it just ruins the game. Not on Sea’s for me but older games. Just meshing or out of map BS but nonetheless it’s still cheating and bs. These cheats in Sea are on another level!!
Its not invisible, they just insta zoom to the other end of the ladder(top or bottom)
Yea I said invisibility. This is an old clip before we all knew what was happening. It’s just instant ladder (code) from the phantom. This stuff wa mind blowing when it first happened haha

Rare needs to go after the people developing these hacks making it not worth it. These hacks are a violation of copyright. On top of it, if you have to hack Sea of Thieves to succeed your a POS and have no skill. If you want to get better and succeed, it's much better to find someone who has experience playing than to hack. Probably the funniest hacker I saw was someone using extra health which he used to survive a point blank stronghold keg then come after us only to get sunk because 2 skelly sloops got stuck against his ship. (Yes, one spawned on us and the other spawned on him and we drug our skelly ship into the battle.)
Yea hopefully something is done or it will continue to be a big issue and only grow! That's funny, use the AI to your advantage!
@@ColonelDeMoss old school tactics. Have an ai agro on you and drag it to the enemy. The funny part of that one was seeing 2 skelly sloops and a player sloop stuck against each other where none of them could move.

There is an anti-cheat in any game, it depends on how it works and what cheats it learns. Well, there’s also a ban system, people bypass it in 1 minute

Before season 8 I rarely saw hackers and if I did it was in arena or they just used esp to spawn camp until they took all the supplies or I scuttled. Now I see a hacker every session if I’m doing match making. Most of the time they’re being really obvious and teleporting kegs onto my ship or just one-balling me repeatedly. I’ve also seen ships get instant repaired where you might knock their mast down and watch it fling back and start sailing again. I wasn’t aware people could steer while not at the wheel but I’ll keep an eye open for that now too.

Yea so someone explained the helm turning. The helm turning is due to them instant repairing their ship! Their are some comments here that I believe are some of the people running the hacks and they explain all the hacks and actually how they are done! It's actually insane!

Ran into a hacker two days ago. Said GG, changed to xbox only servers, problem solved(temporarily) now back to the old problem of finding a decent fight hahahah :)

This is why I stopped playing this game a couple of years back and I loved playing this game with friends or just on my own hackers are ruining the game for everyone because they suck at the games

90% of PC players exploit or flat out hack. Almost all the streamers I've watched exploit at the least. Simple solution..play on console. No cheats.
Yea I switched to Pc so recording was easier etc but now I can't go back and forth between Xbox and pc but I do love pc now! Just the keyboard shortcuts are nice!

1. The concept of a "ladder speed-hack" is a misnomer and does not make the player invisible, it merely teleports them to the top of the ladder.
2. The ship appearing to turn by itself is not directly an exploit, but a result of instant repairing the ship when the wheel is damaged.
3. The player returning to their ship is simply a forced black-screen.
Hopefully this gives you some insight as to how cheats ACTUALLY work in sot.

No one cared that game shark was a thing. A hacker problem is a sign that the game is crap and should die. SoT promotes toxicity as it is now the ones getting bullied are finally having fun.
So I agree with you on most but how does SOT promote toxicity? I have friends and even myself who get “falsely reported” for cheating and with little to no proof Rare will ban that person no questions asked…
Hey guys lmk your experiences with hackers out on the Sea of Thieves here in the comments! Ever Since Season 8 began the hackers have been out and about, I finally have some solid evidence!
Theirs a few cheats actually such as teleport across the water, you can easily tell this if you suddenly spot a dozen mermaids and insta repair, i had a cheater who was teleporting like crazy claiming it was a glitch and was using aimbot, its a unfair advantage when it comes to cheaters such as this.
Yea the 5 merms that pop and disappear is an instant giveaway! Yea aimbot and Esp are like the small part of these cheats now. The instant repair, flip your boat, instant climb ladder, spawning in kegs, is what really scares me!
as an aimbotter in a lot of games, these cheaters are a disgrace to the community.
They dont "turn invisable", they teleport from bottom to top of mast/ top to bottom.

You sank them? Guess they didn't splurge for the auto ship repair, which, since you can Repair ship at the shipwright, its now a coded feature to be used as a hack.

@@ColonelDeMoss the teleporting hack comes from the code of phantoms, speed hack is from the toxic creatures that shock you, aim bot is coded from skeletons aim, that, if you ever fight skeleton ships, you'll be repairing a hole and it gets hammered over and over again, its because they target the player instead of your actual ship. Spawning in kegs and stuff is the code from barrels and kegs that spawn in the water. It's the same code used to spawn in your athena stuff when you complete a veil mission. It's crazy how simple additions to the game can be turned into negatives
