There’s a reason the History Channel has produced hundreds of documentaries about Hitler but only a few about Dwight D. Eisenhower. Bad guys (and gals) are eternally fascinating. Behind the Bastards dives in past the Cliffs Notes of the worst humans in history and exposes the bizarre realities of their lives. Listeners will learn about the young adult novels that helped Hitler form his monstrous ideology, the founder of Blackwater’s insane quest to build his own Air Force, the bizarre lives of the sons and daughters of dictators and Saddam Hussein’s side career as a trashy romance novelist.
New episodes twice a week on iHeartRadio.

23:35 great question and kind of, yes. The problem in Ireland was the same problem as all these corporations you're talking about: property. The problem is people owning stuff exclusively, stuff being everything from the land and resources to the machines and everything that is produced by them. Property is created and defended by force, and it leads to poverty, colonialism and famine.
I mean, this is basically how I play every historical game.
With slightly more war crimes.
About Clive remitting his money through the EIC, the Knights Templar had a similar system during the time they existed. You could deposit money in for example their London office and reclaim it from any of their other offices around Europe / the middle east.
Every time you say Clive I reflexively add of India
Love these so much for the history, so happy they collaborated with the dollop at one point
Technically, the payments Clive got from Bengal was justified as debt repayment, which Mir Jafar and the Jagat Seths initially accepted, but Clive went so far, Jafar protested and was replaced, but even the replacement turned on him. Unfortunately, said replacement lost a huge battle to the EIC...
Being found dead home alone supposedly from a self inflicted knife wound to the neck? Nah bro got Assassins Creed'd
It's shameful you missed the Indian Revolt of 1857, which actually inspired the handover to the Raj, at least more immediately.
Still really bad at coming up with insightful comments, but I do love boosting the visibility of quality content, so here's a comment. Butts!
Update from the future: The Taliban has done it again Robert
Michael Swaim always brings out my worst sense of humor...
Robert: "He offed himself...
...with a pocket knife."
Michael: "At home, alone?"
Me: "To be fair, if I had to watch that film ONE MORE TIME..."
