People ‘fleeing persecution’ don’t travel 1000s of miles across over a dozen other nations. Irish people are often paying effective tax of over 50% on income. This isn’t far off Scandinavian levels. The health and justice services operate on a level often below that of Mediterranean nations. Paddy pays a mortgage on his house but Johnny Newcomers get free housing with tax money collected from Paddy. The anger out there is quite justified. The influx rate is not sustainable. And it will only accelerate.

It's getting so bad that all my work colleagues from across Europe, Latin America, and Africa are against more immigration into Ireland.

Who are these "International bodies"? Other countries get health care, child care and 12 month maternal leave for mothers built into their tax which is lower if not the same as ours. Lets be real, we get nothing for our tax here.

Thank you very much for sharing your wisdom. I enjoyed that talk. I’ll have to listen to the rest later. Fair play carrying out that chat non stop while cycling.

A fair summation as usual from a fair minded educated gentleman. Thanks for your thoughts Terry.

Thank you for another interesting and enjoyable video. I think our tax system is low tax, the local Garda are excellent but people largely police themselves I live in a rural area of Longford. I am 70 and only go to town during business hours but I would bet the farm that on the streets of longford two thirds of the people would not be speaking English. Residents have votes except in referendums, we plan to build, where I dont know, 50 thousand plus houses each year until 2050. Our birth rate is 1.6 per woman. So these houses must be for immigrants. This is over a million houses. I think my grand children will live to see themselves as a minority. The young Pakistani boy is probably a Muslim, it seems from Britain anyway, that they find it very to accept and embrace the values of the host country. I have a farm and the rule always is show hospitality and help everyone you can but you dont sell or worse still give building sites away. I dont have an answer but I think of it each time I am in town.

For a solicitor,I, 'm surprised at your naivety when viewing people coming to Ireland . If they come illegally they should be treated as such.

I'll have lived in several countries around the world and had lots of friends in even more - and I've never met anyone yet who doesn't moan about taxes! But, we all equally know that we benefit from them when we need them!
Also, law in the UK - two different systems - of law AND punishment ;) We could sit down for a long debate on that but whisky would have to be involved - and none of that whiskey stuff!
Overall, Ireland is good for most people, and if you're setting up business, then the LEOs are amazing in several counties - and the noise on the internet needs to be stood up to, because overall things are about right :)
But I guess we kind of have to watch that because of the things that are going on as voices from outside of Ireland are trying to stir up nonsense against people, and that's not really representative of the whole and the government probably needs to hear what's going on and talk to it - not just ignore it - because all those little things become bigger things when stirred up by some people.
As the Scots say "we're all Jock Tamson's bairns" - and we've all been lucky in our past and owe that pay on to others.

Mass migration at this level is unsustainable. We don't want people who won't integrate. Sweden had a liberal culture. Now Malmo is the rape capital of Europe. Europe is going to get tough on this. Large processing centres are going to be built in Albania. Rapid deportation for unsuccessful applications. Bleeding hearts will whine, but that's the way it goes.

Nice countryside. What part of Ireland is it? Also sounds as if you need to exercise more.
