How often do you give them bath water
I offer bath water every day throughout the year
Lukewarm to cool in the cooler weather, when it's hot outside you can use colder water
Love of Pets I give my birds a bath by putting a lot of water on their favorite vegetable or fruit
I love how at 0:27 Sprinkles looks like he sticks his wings out to test the water!!! So cute
that was adorable.
Man when she said "birds love noise" I was like my birds are the noise specially trying to watch this video they have been screaming all day 😂
Lol same, my bird never gives it a rest straight yammering all day every day loves the vacuum and blender, birds are weirdos
My bird just heard all the raucous and is joining in!
@@galacticwarlock2271 I forgot I even posted this comment haha
she is like the bird queen 👸😂🦜
She surely is!
I have 11 budgies and 1 cockatiel and I use the spray bottle method as that works best for my birds
MASTER ME COCKATIEL
the budgies are gonna rebel against there king
my ringneck is scared of the mister.
My budgie won't take a bath
OMG I'm playing this video on my tablet on the table. My lovebird immediately ran to the screen when your birds were singing, studied the screen like she was watching her favorite soap opera and sang back at your birds! Love it!
What a varied list of options! My favourite is the Goldie's lorikeet at 4:53, almost snorkeling in the bath. One of my Senegals takes a mini-bath in her water bowl, which is a sign for me I must give her the large bath. Thanks for sharing these with us!
My Goldie's rolls around like a dog in a mud bath, lol.
Thanks for watching!
Ohhhhhh how sweet is that birdie! I love that birdie bath! I love them all so much! I love birds!
Lori’s Hartland Hi, I can't wait to meet your ghost bird. 😁
When I heard the wet lettuce part, this was my reaction.
Me: Seriously? Wet LETTUCE?
( Tries It )
Bird: Plays with it and loves it
Me: How is this possible?
Yongkao Chen Glad it worked, thanks for watching!
Yes give it a try
Natural.. Feeling
SAME WITH ME
Thank you,,,my birds like Spray bath,,,,
Thanks! I can’t wait to try these on my new bird El!
that yellow bird at 6:45 soooo adorable! i love all of them all. Lucky you spending time with all those lovely birds 🥰
Thanks for all the tips your an amazing mom to your pet family
Such a beautiful video!! You really love your birds they are really thriving 🐦💕
What a nice compilation of ideas ! ...I really love your "cupped-hands" bath...that little birdie seems so happy !!! 😁
So many good ideas, especially the vacuum!! Now I feel so refreshed!!😊
This is a beautifully well thought out video. Thank you very much. Your love of birds is very appreciated.
So adorable you are such a bond
Aw that lovebird is so awesome! Very energetic and happy
This was fabulous !
Thanks for your tips!
My gcc like the sink, with running water of course. I put a washcloth down so it's not so slippery. He also likes the shower perch and to be sprayed down, I don't do this near his cage as to keep the cage dry. Jake just loves his baths for sure! Nice options you give, thanx
Thank you! You're very helpful with your videos.
Lmao my budgie absolutely hates baths. I have tried bathing him in the sink, a bowl, wet grass, etc. I usually just use a spray bottle. He hates the spray too, he runs away from it so I usually just spray him 2 or 3 times and stop bc he wont tolerate anything else lmao. Whenever i give him a bath in the sink he chirps like crazy and just flys on my head. I'll get him off my head and move him near the running water and he just squaks and flys on my head to get away lol. I hate to force him but my bird is pretty nasty so he needs to be clean so I just use a spray bottle, even though he hates that too he will tolerate it more than a bowl or the sink. The spray bottle works best for me and my budgie Kenny..I suggest to use a spray bottle if your bird is too stubborn to take a bath himself in a bowl. Lol.
Same with my cockatiel, my lovebird just casually jumps into the sink to take a bath but my cocktail won’t go anywhere near water
My Parrotlet is the same it’s tough 😅
Mines even worst I tried the bowls he never get in. And when I tried to get my budgie in the sink she would fly away and sometimes she will get in her cage. I mean I can't grab him can I. Well I tried the spray bottle but he would fly away and he will get super upset. I took me a while to gain his trust again so I don't know what to do now
Same with me I literally don’t know what to do anymore my budgies love baths especially in bowls but my cockatiel hates water except for drinking I’ve tried spray bottles water bowls sinks he hates it all so now the only way is to spray him like you said or hold him under the sink without getting it in his face ;(
Mine too but it doesn’t get clean under his wings
Great job with your birds.
OMG I love your vids ❤️ 😃
Thank you for sharing these helpful tips. I do find with my monk parrot if I spray her then she will go and bath.
Omgosh! What a great video!! After MANY tries n fails even the vacuum. I got my budgies to start taking baths by putting a mirror under the water. My babies were so afraid of water, metal n glass so I tried a silicone rubber pie pan which is also non-slip (safety first!) and easy on the toosies too. They just love it.The water stays warm a little longer too. Now they are taking a dip all the time.
That's a great option. I forgot to mention about a mirror. I have a bath with a mirror that my budgies love. The stainless steel bowls are like a mirror, my Cockatiels look at themselves and go in, 😀
You have such beautiful birds I actually want to own a budgie just a small bird to start out with
Great video as always 😃👍🐦
Extremely helpful 👍💕
Thanks so much! Now my birds are clean! Well they always here except they are kinda itchy well not anymore that much!
Omg I literally saw this EXACT water fountain thing at the pet store today
Good info!
This is a GREAT video !! 🚿
I have two buddies jazz and chills they are so fun. I hope everyone has a good day and go out a do something
My budgie hates baths but that really helped all of them thank you very much love your channel
I used a plant mister for my Amazon. He got nervous at first, so I moved away from him a bit, and kept spraying. After a while he spread out his big gorgeous wings, and turned this and that way. It was super cute. I think every bird loves showering even if they seem nervous at first.
Just subscribed! Thanks for the tips, as a new bird owner I have much to learn! We have three rescue budgies.
Thanks for subscribing. Congratulations on your new birds, they will bring you Joy.
This is so helpful bc my bird can now bathe with me and so many more ways
My English Budgie won't go near any kind of tradional bird bath, so I am anxious to try one of these!
Excellent video!!
I adore all the bird ladies who have youtube channels...because I, also, am a bird lady, but I especially like you in Love of Pets, because you are calm. You bring a certain peace to the frenetic, fast moving world of parrots. I dont see any ocd in you, nor any hysteria, feigned or real. I need that calm sometimes. And you are so helpful with your education in every bird subject . I'm so glad you're here! I just wish you would say your name more often , cause I'm not sure what it is!
Thank you, glad you like my videos 🥰. My name is Donna.
The shower trick is something i want to try when i get a love-bird.
Hi I have a cockteil as well you helped me bathe her she was very dusty and I didn’t know what to do but know I do thank you
What was that Linnie doing!!! LOL! Great video
So cute❤️
So helpful! Thank you! I’m getting a cockatiel in 3 weeks! Since they are so dusty I really hope they will enjoy bathing
You must be excited!
Thanks
My budgie Monty likes rolling around in wet lettuce leaves... sometimes the ones on my plate if I am not quick enough getting his own ready before my dinner.
Great idea. Using a cat drinking fountain for the birds. I hope it works for mine. I am planning on sneaking her i to the shower with me. She used to love it!
Thank you my bird bathes now.
very helpful
Your vids are really helpful
Glad to be of help 🤗
I love that I found this I have 11 society finches just ordering the them a bigger cadge and them going through water is a pain and looked up the flower Catit Flower Cat Water Fountain and was looking at prices and stumbled on you video. Which answered the question if any one has tried this with their bird.
Your birds will love the fountain. My birds go in it daily.
Love of Pets,
They like drinking from it but they don't like bathing in it. But it giving cleaner drinking water for longer. Which was a big part or the goal. I might go down to home Depot and get a piece of pipe so the flower is hight up so they can fit under it better. I'm guessing that is what they don't like.
I like your cocktails the most
I can’t believe some birds refuse to take baths. My birds love all kinds of baths. I have to put them in their cages if I wash dishes because they will fly over if they hear the sink. They love being sprayed and the steel bowls too. I want to get one of those fountains. They would love that.
brittany a
My bird LOVES water, she takes baths in her water bowl but won’t go into the larger baths I give her. I’ve tried everything, clear bowls, stainless steel bowls, I even got her a outdoor bird bath. She just won’t do it! She just dunks her head into her water bowl and shakes it all over. She’s real cute, just not the smartest bird in the box!
Dang, I wish my birds liked baths...
Could you please help me too, i have 3 momth old cockatiel when i spary him he flies away and he doesn't even go near dish for bathing
Thanks so much for the great ideas my budgie just won't bathe and he doesn't like to be sprayed either
I had that fountain! I'm gonna replace it though because the cable broke... For now my budgie enjoys the sink and rubbing his head on the porcelain lolol
My 2 'tiels love being sprayed, especially on hot days. They hang upside down, spread their wings and have a high old time. Only my female will use a bowl to bathe in. They also like the vacuum cleaner, usually go around with them sitting on my head whilst I do it.
I have a little 4 month old Cockatiel Peanut. I've only had her 2 weeks so still getting her to trust me. I heard about the spray method on CZcams however I am not sure if she likes it or not. But she does respond the same way your bird did. But really would rather her taking a bath at her own free will. I've been trying using what I have at the moment a plastic container, but when you said try stainless steel or even glass I'll try these ideas first as I do have item's here already. This makes sense to me. As for Christmas she got a new much bigger house that has stainless steel water and food bowls, today I noticed peanut was standing in her drinking water. So that got me thinking maybe if it was bigger she might have used it as a bath. Now after watching this video I'm going to try this. Thank you. Just don't know why I never thought of this before. As it will fit in her big house now.
Cockatiels do enjoy looking at themselves in the stainless steel and once they are in the dish to have a closer look at themselves they will take a bath 😀. Good luck with your Cockatiel and have fun.
The parrotlets all climbing in at once are so cute :D they're so calm compared to all the others having their baths
Jessica Hammage They do look like Parrotlets but they are linnies. They are a little bit than Parrotlets. They love to bath has a group. Thanks for watching.
They are so nice to each other, taking turns and whatnot! ;w;
I have the exact same looking lovebird and it takes a bath in my hands or the sink :P
Nice name for sprinkles
Nice technique
Hi, my little canary loves his bath. He flies free every morning now after I watched your videos and getting more confident with him. Where can I get one if those tiny white water pumps that's in the stainless steel bowl please?
I have a new lovebird (almost 6 weeks) who is yet to have his first bath. (Dont want him to get too cold when he gets out, its winter) Im researching ways to make sure he has to best experience on his first bath time!
My dimorphic mosaic canary just like yours just as i put the bathing tub he imediately just started to bath
It's cute
my cockatiel will NOT take a bath unless she's in the shower with me. i've had to hold her on my finger but i'm glad to see there's a perch for birds! thank you!!
Your welcome. You have a special bond with your bird.
Love of Pets agreed mine cockitiel. has to be on my arm or shoulder in order for me to bathe him. I'm going to try this perch out
Mine just doesn’t like water at all. Ima have to try the mist and maybe soft running water in order to get him to. I have a like bath spray, which is fine if I spray it never him and let it fall, but I find that it doesn’t help too much with the dust. *WhY dUsT*
My birds get in the shower or the kitchen sink
like that vaccum advice!
This was such a helpful video! Thank you. I recently got a blue and gold macaw baby, he is 10 months old and haaaaaates water. I have had him for about a month and have only twice succeeded in giving him a shower. I tried the pan bath thing but he wasnt having it. He will "submit" to being sprayed with a water bottle, if he can sit on my shoulders. But he doesnt enjoy it, which is why I dont want to do it. I will try these and hopefully find a way that he loves!
Congratulations on your new bird.
There is a good video on the Birdtricks channel of how to desensitize a bird to being sprayed with water. Check it out as it may help
@@Loveofpets Thank you, I will check it out!
What would you suggest for a mourning dove?
Wow, fun to watch and educational, too.
My Green Cheeked Conure, Jasper does not like to bathe. He will sometimes dip into my ice water when I'm not looking. He gets his whole head under water for a second, dips his neck in, flaps his (dry) wings. Then he takes hours to "dry off." He hates it if I spray him.
I have a little cat drinking fountain. Jasper loves watching the fountain and listening to it. That' s it, though so far.
My Canary Winged 'keet, Zeke, insists on being sprayed many times a day. If I don't he bathes in his drinking water.
He, too watches the fountain for hours, but I haven't seen him dip into it. It might be too deep. I got it because it has a nice, smooth edge that seems the right size for them to grip. I have a 60 day return privilege on it, so we'll see.
I'm also tempted to try your DIY bird bath. Only thing, it looks messy. I don't really have a place that can get too wet without ruining something.
Thanks again for posting!
Some birds think they have bathed and only their head is wet or they have a drop of water on them lol. You are lucky to own a canary wing, there is none in Canada.
My cockatiel is obsessed with sticking his feet in water, but never wants to actually bathe XD
When I have my (drinking) water out without a lid, he will go up, stick a foot in it, then walk away.
Lol, that's cute.
Sprinkles is just having the time of his life in the beginning
TFS ☺️🦜 do you ever put ACV & or baking soda in the water? ......that’s what the breeder, where I got my White canary Jimmy, from said he uses all the time for his 40+ canaries in their spray bath 💦
I just bring my budgies in the shower with me (separately) lmao... they'll sit on my shoulder and any spray that happens when the water hits my head or neck will get them. They don't LOVE it, but they aren't scared either... plus, it works.
leahisnotnormal it works for me to, but my parents have banned the birds from all bathrooms. And none of them will bathe in other way 😕
i just got a macaw hes awsome his name is loki he bathes using a kid pool a small todler one he sits in it sometimes and splashes it everywhere
i wanna marry that Woman and her Pets. So lovely 😍
She has a husband
@@mariamd786 lol!
My pet bird is a kakariki, very hard to bathe him ;-; these don’t work but I will try the vacuum soon.
I have the exact same flower fountain. I bought it in a charity shop and it was meant for cats to drink from it lol. But sadly my birds enjoys to bathe in my aquarium instead...and my fishes don't like that haha
😂🤣
My linnies go crazy for the spray bottle! I call them my water whores hehe And my lovebird does great in a shallow dish, I love watching them bathe!
The stainless steel dog fountain is the water safe for parrots it states dog and cats but I’m skeptical as the pump which is made of plastic sits in the water bowl. How long have you used it? I’m looking for one for my sun Conures
Hi, I have had mine for over 5 years and have not had a problem with it.
Nice video
I have two budgies named sky and neo(from the matrix)
I have a shower branch and my cockatiel loves to bath
When you said you use a pie plate all I could think was chicken pot pie 😂😂😂😂
Emma O123 😂😂😂😂
Thank you so much for your amazing video's and information😃 whenever someone askes me something about (rosey) Bourks, I send them to your page❤🐦
Thank you so much 🤗
My cockatiel loves taking a shower with me (I bring him in after I bathe myself) but I was wondering how many times a week should I bathe him?
I got a cockatiel about a month ago (just before Christmas 2020) and I’m trying to find the best way to bathe him, but before I find that out does anyone have any suggestions to helping your bird to not smell like cheese?
Hi..I have a question.. I have 30 days cockatiel chick.. it's smells a lot.. how to take her for a bath??
great great video and does your bird poop in the bath that be at the bottom of the cage
Yes they poop in it. I take it out after they finish bathing or poop in it.
Road to 100k 🎉
I’ve only had my bird for 5 days and I’ve just seen this video. I have just put a plastic square bowl for my buggie.
Great video but where do you get the shower thing ( 5:57 )
Hi, here is a link to the shower perch amzn.to/2Fk6FzZ
You may be able to find them in bird specialty stores as well
wao, this is cool, by the way is that pink budgie ? 1st time I saw it
Hi. The pink bird is a bourke parakeet 😀
do you have a link to that stainless bowl with the white pump?
Hi, here is the link to the stainless steel dish amzn.to/3dBcFUW
@@Loveofpets oh I didn't realize it was that one without the metal top, thank you! I believe that's what will work for my guy.
Hi there. Wow! What a fab video. You have so many lovely birds and appear to look after them all so well. How do you get time to work. Ha
I live in Wales in the UK and have a just over a year old male English Budgie, his name is Eddie.
He's been quite grumpy of late and doesn't come out of his cage much. I wonder if you could give me some tips please. He will have a bath in a bowl , infact he appears to love this.Ive taught him a few words and he chats away. He eats well. Do you think he's going through a thase or coming up to a moult maybe.
I have am 50 married with no children, I'm not too well with Sjogrens Syndrome and Fibromyalgia so I struggle to get downstairs in the morning. Do you think he's be better coming upstairs in the morning to be with me. I'd be so happy to get any advice you may have.
Keep up the good work. Thank you.
Hi, yes he would be happy to be with you in the morning. Make outside of his cage interesting and enticing by putting millet, and special treats in an area such has a bird stand area with shredding toys etc. Keep the door open and put his bath outside of the cage. If he is molting they do get cranky.
Love of Pets Hi there. Thanks for your quick response. On the floor right below his cage I have set up ladders and lots of activities for him to play with. He use to come down and play for ages. Tonight I managed to entice him down, but I was a quick fly down and sqwark and squeak back up to his cage.
I appreciate all your advice.
Sometimes when he comes to me he will fly onto my hand and then bite really hard sometimes a couple of times. I've tried rolling my hand to stop and I've also tried saying no quite firmly. What would you suggest. Is it because he wants me to have food in my hand? I'm feeling like a helpless Mummy. Could I email you some photos maybe?
My budgies bite me also and I don't know why. The females bite more. You can send me pictures through my Instagram or Facebook page if you like. The links are in my description below my video.
Thank you again for all your kind advice.
I have two budgies named luke and ingrid
Luke is the girl and ingrid is the boy. No really
They personally prefer being sprayed
