Canción del grupo The Treacherous Three que fue grabada en 1980 con la que me he inspirado para hacer uno de mis diseños de la Serie "Hip Hop SongShirts +Info: movectors.blogspot.com.es/
Was a kid just watching in awe at the hustlers across the street laughing, drinking smoking and playing loud music from these ridiculously big radios. This was my movies everyday, just watching them in the summer every day. Then this song started playing and I was mesmerized, from the sound to the lyrics....it clicked for me right there, that is when I fell in love with hip hop. Little did I know right there at that moment I was experiencing it in it's true unadulterated essence. From the Bboys across the street, their way of talking, (wzzup lizzil mzzan), their clothes, the battle dancing, and of course the music. It was all love and I fell in love with the love. Hip Hop is a culture, and it was on full display for me that day with this song. I was 7 then. Hip hop 4 life!
It's such a shame how bad hip hop is today. I never thought I would see a day when I would absolutely hate the music that I lived so much as a teenager.
I miss them block parties back in the day! It was real fun going on, no guns or none of that stuff. Even the fights that did happen wasn't that bad compared to today. Yeah, we had real fun back in the day during the pre-crack era.
Im from philly also. Loved this song at the house parties. Was in gang at the time so i used to swow our street with my hands while dancing. that was crazy now that im grown. lol
Brother Norman do you still have any of those tapes from Bronx River or any where else in the Bronx? I have over 300 live tapes from that era, Bronx River Black History month tape, a few Zulu Anniversary's going back to 1981 with Pow Wow Globe and all the Zulu m.c.s and D.J.s as well as the guest. I too love this Hip Hop check me on facebook my page is LegendaryHipHop just the way I wrote it. Anybody come through. I love the history. give me a call you or any one that's interested in trading tapes from back in the days 212-361-9822 peace
when I first heard grandmaster flash and furious ride and the treacherous three the cold crush Brothers funky four plus one more in the Bronx NY on 183rd Webster Ave at the PAL....
This brings back memories of the schoolyard jams at Vaux High School in Philly. I wasn’t allowed to go but we all snuck anyway 🤣 and this jawn always got the party started.
Been looking for this song. Only knew it by the music. I sort of remember what the album looked like . My brother had it & this was 🔥🔥 back in the day. Glad I found it. Can’t remember the year. Think it might have been early 80s. I know they played it at skate town.
I was AT that JAM ALSO!!! I think they were with the "Funky 4 + 1 more" and a few others. We were all standing on chairs checking it out. #FUNTIMES #CLASSICSHIT
Damm this brings back so many memories! I just joined the Navy and had this on cassette, recorded from a good friend that was a dj, played it so much the tape broke, made him re record it and ship it overseas! Couldnt think of the name till now., glad to hear it again.
I'm at the lunch room at George Washington High School at a dance party when these cats came on and they really did Turn It Out to the Max Yallllllll!!!!!!!!! Hope Hop FOREVER LOVE IT😅😅
That song is so amazing as a proud "OG" from Harlem, during this time in the late 1970's and early 80's in Hip Hop anything goes "PoP" "Country" nobody expected anything from Black kids playing without a band, "At the party" sounds like a song Cardi B & Bruno Mars would remix...its still fire!
Please leave that Cardi B non rapping young broad out of the equation....this is a classic that cannot be redone!!! I was 11 when this came out.....miss those days in Brownsville,Brooklyn,N.Y.!!!! And leave Bruno Mars out,too 😆!!
I Remember this just like it was yesterday... I remember battle against LA Sunshine Dancing at a Roller skating Party when they came up from New York they came to Massachusetts and I follow them in the back as they were coming in the party and LA Sunshine allow me to come in with him VIP Status I felt like a Super Star. And we was just Dancing against each other all night and looking at the Fly Girls watch us Dance Omg those were good old days💯💯💯
After (then) just turning 15, returning to my home (Philly) only to discover this phenomena dj, emceeing, was infectous to all who ears nd souls beared witness to the Power of Hip-Hop!. Nd although there's numerous examples of its essence,..if I had to pick just one tht captures, nd epitomizes it's purity. It would be this jawn richea!. Long Live the Mighty T3!.
Phillip Pettus Dope boys and crack wasn’t even out when this jawn hit. ‘Snowfall’ is embellishing the history. I was there, original Philadelphia drug czar.
