- Hello guvgang! I made this video to try and explain how I personally use one of Steve's less talked about stances. In my opinion, this stance absolutely has its place in his arsenal and does its job well. That job being a gap closer, mixup tool, and a mental stack machine. I have included one of his most famous Tekken 8 specific space traps here as well, so please enjoy!

As Lars main I always liked using his evasion to make whiff punish scenarios and making un traditional openings. Decided that I wanted to main Steve on a whim because my brother used to play him in Tekken and seeing he actually seems way more fun than I intially expected makes me so happy to invest hours into this character.

Something I usually do with ALB is mix the PAB throw. A lot of people (even in blue ranks) can't break throws or have a hard time reacting to them, once you do that a couple of times they start flash ducking or fully ducking, then you can mix with mids, ALB 2 is a good option, or something that works but it is a bit risky is doing ALB into Sonic Fang, it comes a little bit slower and catches people trying to fuzzy ALB (I don't know if it is really fuzzy guardable, but some people still try tho), or it catches them trying to duck/flash duck the PAB throw as it comes a bit slower than ALB 2.
PAB throw is great!
I do the same with ALB into PAB throw to set up ALB > PKB DF2

So good. Looks like the Albatross -> outfox trap leaves the opponent close enough to get the LH 1+2 full launcher a lot of the time. I will have to experiment.

What is the point of that low mixup if it is reactable ? Is there a way to cancel it into an unseable low ?
It's a knowledge check for lower level players and mental stacking tool against the higher level. The great thing is that both spins can be cancelled into neutral or into PKB and it opens up the moves from those stances and all the different timings it can cover. It's very exhausting to defend against and it's not gonna be blocked late into a set if you tire their mental enough
