I love shorts that don't leave a cliff hanger. It seems the non-Hollywood movies are the best. This had a beginning, a complete story and an end. Very well done with some great acting.
Hollywood is fullOfSht
The quality of this short movie is impressive! Good actors, and the story is really original! i love how the worms seems to embrace the character traits of their masters Noodle is brave in spite of his wounds, and Bouma is a coward like Marcel.
Yes the creatures can connect telepathically to there masters and draw energy from the plane of existence where the consciousness lies
some of these are so good i wish there were whole movies dedicated to them.
jack tabor gaming ❤️
I wish they would as well I haven't watched a movie for quite a while now I found these shorts a lot better get you thinking 🤔
So that’s why the Engineers in Prometheus hate humans. Their alien lampreys kept loosing to Noodle.
I had no idea I would be watching a show on illegal radioactive worm fighting. What a channel!
Despite the obvious problems with animal fighting, the absence of blood-soaked vengeance separates this revenge story from most other modern such films. Well done. And the non-linear images fit together and work perfectly. Well done!
Even though there was a "give away" as to what the Animal was, I was still blown away by it and the level artwork about it seeming perfectly natural both in the subtlety of the CGFX (which by and large is heavily overdone and relied upon in this era's cinema) and how practically it fit in this story. I didn't have to think about suspending disbelief. Great story, great acting, perfect amount and style of FX (practical and CG) and great editing as the crux and outcome of the story was not lost within any of these. I highly recommend for horror, science fiction, science fantasy, and fantasy 'proper' fans and just as importantly, students of CG as, in my opinion, this is "How to do CG the Right Way."
Remarkably well done. The worms were the perfect metaphor for the individual human they represented. Interesting camera work, catching the ambiance of the circumstance, and well acted.
This is what DUST is all about, providing a platform for exceptional quality productions with unique stories that are well acted, and technically appealing.
Why was I rooting for Noodle like he was a real animal.....LOL!! Great film!
The first rule of Noodle Club is...
NEVER Talk About Noodle Club
10:06 I swear that she is saying "Vielen Dank" in German and without any accent!
Musste mir das auch gerade nochmal anhören. Hört sich wirklich so an xD
a weng a Akzent is scho dabei. Naujo, vielleicht a hochdeitscha Akzent.
Ich glaub nicht, dass der typ 3uch verstanden hat...😆😆😆
Are you interested in illegal worm fights?
You do not wish to sell me on illegal worm fights.
You will go home and rethink your life.
.. then in walks the Minneapolis Police ... choking out the action.
@@TheAstroflight this movie was financed by France. this comment says more about you than about the movie
@@TheAstroflight I rather show the contrary
We don´t need Hollywood for their anfrican interpretation - we want to see real african shortmovies like this !! great stuff !!
@@bruitation ..are you shure? - shot in Paris?
Aww, and here you thought that was a good opportunity to virtue signal.
@@bruitation damn .... forget what I said - this is a french interpretation ;-( ..... well .... is their any thing that african people can do on their own or do they allways need the help of the "bad old white men" ?
Really loved this one. Give us a whole movie. Thank you Dust for being the best channel on YT
Film well done! Animal illegal fight inDUSTry...not usually my thing, but I rooted for Noodle =D
Thank You
Pokemon brought to life!!! I jest, It's a good little short. Well written well acted and an original concept. All the ingredients of a good film. 7/10
I didn't know that I needed this in my life. Thanks for letting me know. The weirdness had just enough spirituality to make it complete.
It's not the size of the tentacle in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the tentacle.
LOL, too funny.
If I had to applaud for this film's A to Z, my hands would be bleeding. Bravo! Thank you!
So, this isn't an insight into the life of the drummer from the Muppets...
Still great though 😉👍
Aw I would love to see that... "Animal- Behind The Music" 👍😆
rutituti678 "ANIMAL-Origins" the prequel.
@@PaulSmith-pf2uq 👍😆

Btw excellent job DUST🥳
Sci-fi short - comments by Jan
Beware of spoilers!
Animal by Fabrice Le Nezet
Plot: environmental pollution topic from original perspective
Negatives: I have found none
Positives: 1) setting outside the western world; 2) storytelling using dialogues same as just exposition and action and with good gradation and good combination of action scenes and calm scenes; 3) some scenes had very good atmosphere (preparing for the battle, Marcel walking in corridors)
Personal note: I like the unification of quite new topics like environmental pollution and new species with local culture and its traditional aspects. Definitely one of my favourite shorts!
Summary: Original story worth of watching and liking; please, more of it!
Noodle ... Hah! That's cute
A fresh, new idea in sci-fi. I couldn’t see what was coming and THAT is saying something.
The acting was good. The atmosphere seemed almost end of the world or apocalyptic. I don’t believe I’ve ever seen a movie or a short that took place in all of Africa, except for South Africa, so it was great to see what another country on that continent had to offer.
In GOOD scifi it's rare to see what is coming. Most "scifi" these days is just "sci-fantasy".
Anyone else getting a post "District 9" vibe?
Yes.
A melancholy sci-fi tale with a powerful message. Well done.
Extreme Pokemon and Team Marcel got served.
I was expecting at least a hint of a bloodbath at the end... still, top notch work across the board. Bring on the sequel.😎
To be honest, I was expecting little guy ripping big guy to shreads, but to be honest, I liked this end a lot more.
Not everything has to end in a bloodbath. The ending was perfect.
Kenn Magnum I thought that he wanted Noodle to attack his coward friend and drink his blood!
@@jenesisjones6706 Tell that to Quentin Tarantino :)
Jenesis Jones I won’t argue with that. Just expressing my individual perspective. Cheers
Masterful and flawless.
This was a tour de force of acting, directing, editing and storytelling
The actors are out standing !! Would love to see more of their work!
@@bruitation thank you!!
These fights are cruel, but it was nice to see parts of Africa that are not tribal or village like. Great short, non the less..
fantastic scripting, and cinematography. mysterious and engaging and in the end it is a state of mind that wins and not physical fighting. the metaphor for the boys overcoming their animosity
now *_this!!!_* is a brilliant cinematography from the acting to the special effects, nice one, c'est un film incroyable!!!
It is so weird to be rooting for a radioactively mutated cephalopod. I'm not sure how I feel about that.
If, you are watching Dust and are looking for something spelled out for you; you are one the wrong channel. Films like these are made for thinkers.Love this channel!
William Sikora don't care
@@milkman8996 apparently
Excellent movie, blending spirituality, intrigue, science & intelligence with the real people of Senegal. Brilliant!
A very original story, very well acted and outside of the realm of what one would normally expect. Very surprising. A full story with a beginning and an end which however does leave you with wanting more. I enjoyed this very much. No alien animals were hurt during the making of this movie :-)
Those poor dogworms. Those people are the monsters.
The worms are very interesting animals! The more you're trying to pull it of the ground the longer it gets the deeper it goes.
AFRICA STAND UP! I LOVED EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS WE NEED MORE AFRICAN SCIFI
The first rule of TENTACLE CLUB is you don't talk about Tentacle Club.
So dogfighting with mutant octopuses.
I'm down.
Eh, more like cockfighting.
@@PureAmericanPatriot Yeah, that's true.
I guessed the mike I saw the extent of the cage in the beginning when he went to feed it that they were going to be some kind of animal used in fighting. What I don't get was when he took the mutated cephelapod to the woman was he giving it his blood or was he taking blood from it? For a minute there I thought that he was using the animals blood as some kind of "cure" for his bum leg. But that didn't seem to be the case. The one thing I didn't like about this was that in the end they kind of made Noodle out to be sort of Alien in nature when it was just a mutation. The way he changed at the very end causing the larger one to submit, it just conjured up thoughts of an alien creature rather than just one that had been mutated by pollution. Of course that's just my own interpretation of it.
The mutation of Noodle, at the end, is supposed to be linked to the blood transfusion it received from it's owner...bad, vengeful blood, if you like.
Finally something I can relate too, and understand . Fantastic all around ,thank you, from Steven Scampone , Advanced Knowledge ,San Diego California
That was frigging weird and super frigging awesome at the same time
What an original take on the environment.
Loved it. Such a short film but tells a big story.
Forget chicken fighting - we got evolving devolved tentacle lamprey things.
Could you imagine the fish you could catch from the radioactive lake with a worm like that?
Way better than Rise of Skywalker
High five to this short. DUST rocks!
I have a theory that this is the prequel to orbit ever after
Love it.🥰🥰🥰
it can be on Netflix as full feature film
I wanna be the very best, that no one ever was, to catch them is my real task, to train them is my cause!
I wonder how many people know what U are referring to?
Gotta catch THEM all!
Chris Beeler lol o think quite a few. Lol idk, it's what it reminded me of. I think anyone younger then 40, and even a lot of people older then 40 with kids, or that are weebs
Woow! That was excellent, good story, good acting as well, a very good surprise!
GOTTA CATCH EM ALL
No one:
Signs:Don't go there, caution, radioactive, hazardous!
Kids:let's go there
But this was one of the best movie ideas ive seen
I love that music at the end when that kid is making those things float. Anyone know the name or something that’s similar when children singing like that? Thanks
WoW.. DUST came thru again!! I loved this! ❤
Very, very, well done. Congratulations.'
Wow! Definitely interesting from beginning to end.
Toxic Vu Doo lampreys, well played...
Now that's what I call a Scifi short....
That was awesome. Great concept. Keep up the good work.
Well shot, well acted, well written, well good
Karl hopes to settle a score with Marcel at a "cock fight", where cocks are replaced with mutated animals from the radioactive area, where their friendship ended decades earlier.

Very interesting 👏👏👏 I loved the monster's they were nothing like I thought they would be. ❤️💖💯
Impressive film, thank you all for your great work!
Wow loved every moment a great story!!
Gotta Catch 'Em All!
YES.
Didn't know Pokemon Go had such good graphics.
great acting ... i do hope no CGI worm - eel things got harmed in the making of this video.
Dance and colour beautifully done
Can two kids like that life something as heavy as that?
This was beautiful as a film... but at the same time heinous for fighting any animals...
Really? Are U unaware this WASNT A REAL ANIMAL?
Call PETA then. P.C people have no TRUE creativity I guess.
BTW, Sci-fi. I hope U know what
its abbreviation is? Expand your mind....
Gotta catch them all !
Anazing! Such imagery and great acting
This is a very good film indeed! Well done to everyone involved in its creation. ☝️😎
wow!great showing,always something different Dust.
dystopian... with running electricity and plenty of oil for one to show off to one's friends
This was great
these short films are way more interesting and cool than those LOW BUDGET MOVIES that are increasing in numbers ( sadly )
Loved it!
That was...interesting...very different,but in a cool way👍
Another good Story!!
"South African Pokemon?! "
its senegal
Pokémon is getting wild
Great short film!!!
Brilliantly done.
Great but those kids lifting that column hmmm🤔
What language are they speaking in this movie? Dakar was mentioned so it could be a language from Senegal, or since the surnames of at least a couple of the actors in this are Burkinabe, is it that? Curious to know, this really increased my immersion in the film but I don't know enough to recognize the language.
@@bruitation So the language of the descendants of Yennenga and Rialé, the Mossi. Thank you, makes me appreciate this movie even more!
Great. I'm guessing West Africa. So-oo authentic. Fantastic camera work to tell the story visually. Just don't get the boys sub-plot and those flashbacks with the floating plastic tadpoles. Or whatever they were
And BTW this doesn't need fancy CGI
Great cinematography.
Truly a notch above
Nice...I'd pay for a movie or show.
Nicely done!
That’s right Noodle...believe in yourself! Remember who you are! 😂
Well done guys!!!
This stuff is like watching modern dance, I dont understand it either!
Some of these short movies really do have a story line and a message. Others are just weird for weird's sake.
*MrJohn714*
Guy transfused his revenge-seeking blood into his celephapod and it develops super-soldier traits.
@@billyandrew agreed, that trick/plot twist - ➕ the song of ritual and nursing from that old lady back there that (in his mind) made it possible 🙆
But what I don't know is really get is how the works, and could comprehend the rules of the game.. 🙄 And seize hostilities instantly after Bouma stopped out of the Ring
Wow! Amazing!
Interesting and great story!
