- LS Engine Swap On A Budget - Engine Mount DIY
No one said a Mercedes LS engine swap would be easy! I start the fitment process, test out the factory GTO engine mounts and see how much fabrication work I need to do to get this all to work together.
Huge shout out to Initial DIY Mods for the help and advice on this car. Check out his channel

I am swapping a Chevy LS2 into my Mercedes SLK. I've got all the steps and am detailing how much I'm spending and how I'm doing it. I'm building the world's first LS swapped Mercedes SLK, and I'm doing it as cheaply as possible.

Good job...I'm putting a LS1 in a 57 220s I watch this alot
That’s badass!!
What are you doing to ensure that it won’t be in the way of the headers, or the steering shaft?
this is dope!
Thanks Brain! You're first!
Nicely done. Can't wait to see this thing going sideways through some sweet canyon roads
You'll be there! Thanks a ton for your help!
Are you going to upload anymore videos on this or is this project finished before it even got started I’m extremely interested in this series I have a slk230 in my driveway with a blown engine an would love to do this but it would be even better if I saw someone else do it first lol
I have a feeling your welding will look nearly professional!
Aaron Loggan It came out better than I thought ;)
Super interesting!
Thanks! It's a super fun project so far.
Great video buddy. Looking forward to see part 2.
Im totally going to use a reciprocating saw now. What metal cutting blade were you using? 🍁👊
I don't remember the saw blade. It took me about 2 hours to cut through 1/4" metal. It was not quick. A plasma cutter would have been 20 minutes, but a lot more coin.
@@revmatchtv no doubt, but if it works it can get the job done
It cut through 1/4" at about 1mm per second. It was a cheap solution.
@@revmatchtv slow and steady...seems like turned out nice!👊
here we go! notification squad :)
Woo!
I like it when people engine swap, im 13 and im a car enthusiast, is it good or bad?
Good or bad depends! Usually bad for reliability, but good for fun!
@@revmatchtv then im going for good
Was this the last video for the LS swapped SLK?
Sadly
This is so sick man make omre videos
Working on it!
I’m thinking of putting a 318 dodge engine in my hilux cause my dad bought it 30 years ago
Starting to come together.
Kinda!
New subscriber 🔥🔥🔥 sadly the engine wouldn’t fit.
Unfortunately the driver side header would not clear the steering rack. This project is quite dead.
Where is part 2? I can’t find it.
I stopped the project after I made the lower engine mount. Turns out the engine was not going to fit because the steering linkage would be where the headers would go.
@@revmatchtv Bummer Man!!
@@revmatchtv what thickness of steel did you use or plan to use for the mounts?
@@conrad1468 I used 1/8" iirc
@@revmatchtv Cool Man! Thank you!
Is this the last video on this project?
There’s one more
RevMatchTV Do you mean one more video coming?
@RevMatchTV please tell me you finished it....
Got this running yet?
I wish. I haven't had enough time to do much on it. Plus, this car doesn't get views, so it's hard dedicate a lot of time to it. I'll be working on it in 2019 though. I want to get it running.
RevMatchTV I want to see more! Since I owned a 230k and always thought about a swap
NPC 32497 The project is dead. No one watches and I can’t afford the time for no views.
@@revmatchtv that's unfortunate but understandable. Cool project though.
People didn't know what they were missing.
Did you give up on this?
