So I sent a message on his website and about 5 minutes later I receive a phone call as we talked about the issue I was having with a safety selector seeming a bit tight, was given a couple pointers and the best part! he took the time to help me and this was not even a purchase I made from him. You are absolutely spot on with your assessment on the Binary vs FRT triggers. Binary has a lot more control, as you can hold the trigger back to release the 2nd shot anytime you want which allows a more accurate follow up shot after your first, you can get an extremely rapid 2 shot burst or do a full mag dump just as fast as any FRT trigger with some practice and experience. Overall, the binary has more control, flexiblity and options over a FRT. FRT's are good for making show off CZcams videos, but in real life tatical or home defense, a binary is a by far better value and option.

    FYI if you’re interested. Tommy triggers sells an after market FRT and the Alamo trigger group that allows single and force rest mode with a three position safety select. However, they don’t sell the safety required for the three position select mode. I won’t say it here so you’ll have to look up which safety you’ll need to buy for that. But it’s super easy to get working.

      I would hold off on the FRT right now, there is one man being charged with unregistered machine guns (among other charges) and I’m waiting to see how that plays out. If they allow it, that will basically give the ATF the green light to go after anyone else who obtained them legally.
      If you want a binary trigger, I sell them on my online store at bigbeebeellc.com. Those are still legal (depending on state) for the most part.

    I’ve been considering getting myself a binary trigger. Haven’t really decided for what yet. Probably leaning towards 9mm but undecided. Anyway, basically leaning towards fostech over Franklin but I was wondering what brand you prefer. I don’t know much about em.

    • @Bigbeebeellc
      @Bigbeebeellc  Před rokem +1

      They both have their pros and cons. Fostech echo sport has a good design that won’t allow you to outrun it but is more difficult to drop in because of the trigger lock lever. FA triggers are drop in and very easy to install. But you can outrun it if you are fast enough. Remember to have a full auto BCG to make them work properly (most BCGs are full auto cut these days). I haven’t tried one for a 9mm so not sure exactly how well they work on the blowback design. Everything I mentioned was specifically for the AR platform gas system (DI) so there may be conflicting information. And keep in mind, this is my personal experience and preference. Some may agree, some may disagree. But I personally like the FA triggers myself.

    I thought about getting a binary trigger but, I don't get to shoot my AR as much as I'd like too and the way a binary trigger works, until you really get use to it, I see a lot of un-intended shots.

      The beauty of the binary trigger is that in the semi position, you don’t have to get used to it very much. Works like it normally should (may have a difference in trigger weight). So the only getting used to would be in the binary position. In the FA triggers, that is where the selector goes into the auto position so you have to manually move it to that position. To cancel the second shot in binary, all you have to do is move the selector back to semi and it won’t release the second shot. I’ll have to get another trigger and do a better video on them.

    You can test this without shooting it just so you know

      Yes, I do the function check before I go to the range. I ALWAYS test fire any weapon I build or gunsmith. It’s good practice and it lets me know how the weapons are ACTUALLY functioning, not just the fact that they function in theory. If you don’t test fire your guns after doing work to them, you are wrong.
