Merit based voting initiative is the task as I understand.
Dynasty based politics goes from top to bottom, party looks at candidates with political background and we keep following leaders who had political background.
Under prevailing circumstances those who break this are from criminal background termed as DABANG whom we look as challengers of dynasty politics but result is same 'Dirty Politics' .
If representatives from of criminal background are put aside our HOUSES will have half the capacity.

Did Barkha resign after the Radia tapes came out ? MJ Akbar seems to have definitely crossed the moral lines and the courts will decide if he crossed the legal lines. when Barkha cross the ethical lines in journalism did she take the high ground and resign ?
More seriously, before seeing this 'conversation' in its entirety, I used to think of Prashant Kishor (PK) as a hack. This mis-perception is easy to form when you live 10,000 miles from the mother country. After seeing him respond to random questions on his 'feet', I am very impressed with PK. His answers are measured and facts based. He refrains from taking potshots at anyone (including the clown prince of India - aka Rahul Gandhi). Also, he is candid about his opinions (judging from the few he volunteered). Overall he confined his conclusions around his observations made on the basis of data sets he must have examined/analysed. I don't know anything about his organization (IPAC?) but now I am motivated to look into it and understand better his approach. As an IT professional with keen interest in Big Data and statistical analysis - I suspect PK is an early pioneer in Indian electioneering to leverage that for his clients. Kudos to the man...and am glad my earlier reservations about him have been straightened out. Now Barkha Dutt...well, she is another story!

Databases, be it of any kind are very powerful tool for not only understanding of polls, political behavior or marketing but in the every walk of life, be it health, education or any other developmental activity . More important than the creation of databases is the intelligent interpreter of these databases and one who can make meaningful prediction for taking beneficial actions. Mr. Prashant Kishore possibly fits this bill hence a very sought after person by all political parties. Prashant has to be good in maths, statistics, computers besides being an extremely intelligent and down to earth man also a keen observer of the things going around !
First politician to realise the power of database and make its effective use is ChandraBabu Naidu. As an party functionary of TDP as a trusted lieutenant of late NTR , he developed an elaborate l data base on his party office bearers, elected representatives including that of gram panchayats and party workers ( close to 25000 ! ) ! His this exercise helped him to topple Late NTR as CM..
