Into High Country Episode 3 Season 11 Jason joins his father Tim to hunt for Shiras Moose on a coveted tag in their home state of Montana. This is truly a one of a kind hunt that your going to want to see…
Moose hunting has brought me some of the greatest joys in life. Every experience uniquely profound and humbling after each large moose I've gotten. Thank you for sharing your personal experience with us. Great video.
When I was about 40, several years after my Dad set up his bird feeders and camera to photograph them... I offered to take him pheasant hunting in one of the best spots in north Texas. He said he would rather shoot them with a camera than a shotgun and told me he was done hunting. It was a shock to say the least. He was in his mid 70s and was the last thing I expected. When you get older your heart gets softer and loves. I am getting older and becoming the same way. Then he gave all his guns to my Brother and me. So I understand what you said in this video. Thanks for the great content. Keep it up!
I loved watching this video, but it hurt me too. Knowing my Dad is no longer able to get out and fish or hunt, knowing there will be no more new stories with him in the woods or on the water is tough. Keep those father/son hunts coming! Time is precious!
Loved watching the hunt and precious time spent with your Father. Congrats! Also want to echo the thanks and appreciation to the landowners who allowed access.
Fantastic hunt gentlemen! As someone who shares the same feelings about my own father, that was a tough video to watch knowing my own father/hero is nearing the end of his hunting career as well. The time spent shared over game taken by my father, son or myself, the memories will last forever in my mind. Thank you for taking us all along on the hunt. Very inspiring hunt for both of you. Congratulations Tim on a superb bull. Great season!
Howdy Jason. I'm glad your Dad drew this tag and had a GREAT HUNT! Great hospitality from the land owners! They desire a lot of credit to the success of this hunt!!!!! I can only hope that I can be with my son and grandson when I get the chance for a similar great hunt of my own, God willing! My goodness. What a giant Shiras moose, a real DANDY!!!!! I've seen some really big ones(especially 2 bulls) when elk hunting in Colorado, but nothing this big! Your Dad had one heck of a hunting year!!!!! Great video Jason!!!!! Thank you and later on Sir...
i think your hunting videos are the best, my grampa was having a hard time on our elk hunt last year, i tried to make the hunt as easy as possible on him, but unfortunately at 84 years old, i think it was his last season out there, but what a pleasure its been hunting with him for over 30 years, he taught me alot
Thank you for sharing such a great father and son hunting story. A Magical Matzinger Moose Hunt. Made me smile, but also reinforce to me about my Dad’s (my hunting mentor too) hunting mortality at 63. He with his arthritis doesn’t venture far from the house to hunt whitetail and turkey. Brought a few tears to my eyes, he would love to go on a moose hunt especially Alaska, but Montana would be sweet too. Also made me think of my beloved Mom who passed away Dec 4th at 59. Spend time together with those you hold dear for you never know. Congratulations to you and your Dad on such a big ole Shiras moose. What a season indeed. God Bless
Thank you Jason for bringing this to us. The story telling is just incredible along with the camera work. My dad is going to be 70 this year and he also had a heart attack 3 years ago, had 5 stints put in. He still is going strong but I can see he is slowing down just a little. I hope to be hunting with him many more years to come and could not image it without him. Again thank you.
Congratulations on an awesome bull moose! Hit home with this one for me. Dad and I hunted last fall together on his last hunt. No tags were filled (he did get 2 shots off)but we had an awesome time together. He took me hunting for the first time when I was 2 and the rest is history. Thank you for sharing this treasured moment with us.
I can completely relate to your story here. I have been taking my 70 plus dad hunting the last number of years. He is the one who got me started and at time had to disappoint me at times that I couldn’t go because the conditions were more than what a little kid could endure. I find know taking him out can be a challenge with his age and health with what I know he can’t endure even though his heart says he can, but I know his body say he can’t! He will always be my hunting partner.
Father&Son time=Priceless, thx for the videos they are always inspiring, but they touch an emotional part of me as well because I have sons too. Musical score brings in a great dimension.
Jason, what an incredible hunt! As my dad ages I enjoy even more spending time hunting with him as he is the one who introduced me to the outdoors. My neighbor works for the Outdoor Channel and whenever I bring up your name he has the highest compliments for you and what you do. Thank you for the inspirational hunt!
A nice adventure with your dad and a gorgeous Shiras for him. Congrats, that valley is a special place and its people even more special. Glad you could document it. You are so right in that one never knows when life will bring permanent change or an end to a good thing. A father's presence in our lives is precious but even more so when we can hunt with them as men and celebrate the bond and the fabric woven thus far. I carry my late father's BSA 30/06 for several hunts each year in hopes of taking an animal with it in his memory. The long and short of it is that it really doesn't matter if I do, it is like walking with him again and remembering time spent learning and growing in the woods with a great man. Be Blessed and thank you for sharing your moments, they are always good.
What a great opportunity for you. I wish my dad would have given us one more season before calling it quits. He still gets excited when my brother, son and I tell him where we are going. I wish he would at least come along one more time.
Just stumbled upon your channel and am thoroughly impressed. Great narration and production value. The bond between you and your father are very similar to the bond I had with my father...he passed a couple years ago in his early 70s and I miss him dearly. I am looking forward to your next video, good luck!
Awesome video! I remember the day my dad told me that he was done hunting. Like you, I had no words that I could express. However, we did end up hunting together one last time after he said that. Although we did not fill a tag that season, the memory is still strong of the success we had during our last hunt together. The laughter that we had, and the country we both saw for the first time together was amazing. Thanks for sharing!
Awesome video as always, Jason! With the season your dad has had it looks like he’s got about a thousand pounds of meat to eat this year! Ha ha. Thanks for sharing.
Your videos are so awesome. Beautiful work! I just discovered your channel not too long ago, and you’re definitely at the top of my outdoor/ hunting channels now. Keep up the fantastic work.
I sure wish I could of helped my dad at 85 fill his moose tag last year. We made an attempt but at that age and lack of mobility, it made it really tough. He wasn’t going to shoot just any bull. Probably should of put in for an area not as effected by wolves and bears, but it was nice hunting elk, moose and wolves all at the same time. That’s a nice bull. Well done Dad.

Brought tears to my eyes. Brought back memories when I hunted with my dad. I would give anything to do it again. Wonderful memories.

A very special hunt with father and son. To have it on video it can be cherished for years to come. Have a great day fellas.

Wow! Epic, sad, wonderful- just flat out beautiful! Peace with congratulations!

Excellent video. Touched my ❤. Made me think of my hunts with dad and grandpa years past. Oh. Nice bull.....
Glad you enjoyed it
As a senior hunter, I really appreciate older hunters still active! Fun times just living the dream.
It is fun to be out there living it with him. I am very lucky!

Lord of The Rings!
👍
One of your best shows yet!!!
What song is that?
I don’t understand the need for the copy righted song from Lord of the Rings lol
Defintely not copyrighted music or I wouldn't be able to post and monetize from it. Real production companies pay for what they use.
