My son and his fiancée were looking for a car for their wedding which was two months away. When they couldn't find the right one I suggested "jokingly" that I would buy one and sell it later. Anyway the idea was born and a few days later we had a Riley RMA 1.5 sat on the drive. It was a solid car but needed a lot of work to bring it up to a wedding car standard. We had exactly two months to the wedding to complete any repairs reroof and repaint the car, and I had a full time job. Not sure what I was thinking.
This was pre youtube and I only took photos of the progress at the completion of each stage so unfortunately no video from that period. This video shows the Preparation and "Brush painting" of the Riley and video of the completed project. I hope you enjoy watching the transformation.

Really enjoyed your video thanks. I love these old cars this is one of my favorites
nice to see the old girl getting some love and attention. I keep looking for one
in my retirement just don't seem to give myself a kick up the jackse.

Thank you Graham, they really are lovely old cars, so much charisma and nice to drive too. We did a run up the coast earlier in the summertime, around 100 miles with four of us in the car travelling between 50 and 60 mph all day and it was so comfortable You need get on line now and start looking. 😁👍

Hi again...looked at this video for the third time. Very inspiring. What tyres did you decide on. Don´t look like standard Austone Taxi tyres or the like. Did you actually go with Pirellis??

Hi Andreas, thank you for the kind words. These tyres were on the car when I purchased it. Luckily for me the previous owner had invested in four new tyres. They are actually Firestone CV 2000 175 R 16.

Really sorry you didn’t end the music Metal Man, on a more positive note I hope you liked the car. It was earlier video, I thought at the time the music wasn’t to bad. 👍😊
