Commissioned to me was the best gospel/RnB group ever. I was crushed when they broke up. I would always go back to all the old recordings. I remember opening my cassette tape just to glue the worn out tape back together so I can hear the music again. Fred was the glue to commissioned success. In my view.

Love it! At 51 years young I grew up on being blessed by Commissioned, Keith Staten and Fred Hammond (RFC). As a father of a 11 year old son I am glad that now I have something to share with him that he can grow up listening to as well! LEGACY

I knew Fred &, Sapp was still somewhat fairly new as a solo (I didn't know him before, Never Woulda Made It) that was what, 2006; when they did The Reunion album... @@Ministerj Shalom grew up in the COGIC church and remembering being excited when the WINANS released their albums thinking finally music I could be proud to play in the streets around my friends who didn’t go to church! But OMG when COMMISSIONED came out the style, the sound, the swag and Spirit of Yah them, I was so “godly proud” as the old folks back then would say! I Thank Yah for them

Keith, Fred, Mitchell, and Karl are the major components of the group. I saw Commission perform in Memphis, at Graceland and I am grateful for being able to see them all together. The sound was amazing.

WOW, and I do mean WOW! This is so beautiful to hear and see you 3 guys together and healing and healed. I have spoken to Marcus several times and knew of some of the hurt and drama, but I am elated to hear you guys together, and you all sound incredible Fred, Marcus, and Keith. Almost had a nigga, I mean Lil, a borfha tearing up. It's so wonderfully, and the spirit of it comes across in the song. Love it!

Fred has a heart of pure gold 🥇 🏆 I was honored to meet Fred (A solo artist by this time) several years ago after a worship set/concert He performed at my church at the time I really wanted to meet Fred and prayed God would make that possible Well did HE!
Discouraged after hearing that Fred had left immediately after the concert Me my mom and a sister in Christ all headed to the parking lot and were very sad & disappointed that we didn't get our chance to meet Fred!
As I walked to the car I wasn't paying attention and almost got clipped by a black limo that quickly slammed on the brakes to avoid hitting me the vehicle stopped and Fred immediately got out to check on me to ensure I was okay 😮 I was shocked & overwhelmed with appreciation and happiness 💛😊

There will never be another group like Commissioned in our lifetime. Our Heavenly Father called and groomed y'all for a great purpose and you will never know how many lives were not only touched, but saved and set free through your songs. My car is a Commissioned and Fred car, on my playlist right now is Disc 3 of the Best of Commissioned CD pack (Ordinary Just Wont Do album). I wonder if people realize that when we sing Commissioned songs that we are either singing prayers to the LORD or quoting the bible itself...that is genius! I came to the Lord in 1990 at the age of 15. Commissioned is absolutely part of the soundtrack of my life. It saddens me to hear the backstory to the breakup, but MAN! The lesson of staying true to vision the Lord has given spoke volumes to me. THANK YOU all for your faithfulness to the call of God on your lives. You are STILL ministering to me ♥️🙏🏾
The psychological effects of what you went through was remarkably similar to what Jesus went through with his family . With tears in my eyes; I feel you 😢 . I’m being ministered to right now . @Fred Ham, one more thing....the group also has a strong prophetic anointing. The last time I saw yall live was December 2019 in Queens. I did not sit down not one time during the entire concert, singing every word to what yall sang and then you did an altar call.....Half of the sanctuary came up for prayer.....few weeks later C-19 hit. When yall first came out, crack cocaine was devastating our families and communities.....So this is how I know you all were called and groomed by our Heavenly Father for such a time as this (and that). #Commissioned Fan for Life!
I was there in the 80’s (in Chicago) as a teenager. I was in awe and loved every note!!!! I listened to the song and the tears are flowing. My hearts says ‘Look at what The Lord has done’. Life is lifin’ and I needed that beautiful song. This is for Mr. Hammond Not one, not two, not three but FOUR grown men- telling an eight year old boy that he's now the man of the house...this was a devastating burden to impose upon you at the worst time in your young, vulnerable life. My heart cries out for that eight year old little boy. When and from whom did that eight year old boy get protection, security and nurturing?
I remember talking to Frankie Cole and him letting me hear some of Marcus Cole’s unreleased music and how he wanted Marcus to produce his real sound! I’m happy for you all and I’m impressed with how humble everyone is in the group. I can’t wait to hear and see the finished product!!

Fred Hammond, Keith Staton, Marcus Coles... I've been a COMMISSIONED fan since the release of that first album, "I'm Going On". Thank you for sharing this side of your lived experiences with the group. Many, including myself, were disappointed when the group disbanded. However, life happens! What I loved so much about COMMISSIONED was that the songs related so well to my and many others' lived experiences, growing up as a Christian in a fallen world. I felt like you guys represented me through many of those songs. Fred, Keith, Marcus, I pray for your healings and that God will be glorified in your lives and works, as one of the notable, COMMISSIONED songs says, "Only What You Do For Jesus Christ Will Last". Thank you all again, for sharing your insights. I look forward to the next video in this series.

@@PacoStTaco first of all thank you for not being offended, and thank you for responding. I’m so sorry about what happened to you. Of course no situation is the same, but I want to encourage you with my testimony. I went through some terrible situations all in the same year (2021), and I hid my feelings about what happened from God. Two of my kids wanted to end their time on earth, and one actually ended up in a mental hospital. Nine years old. Also, my father died a painful and agonizing death of cancer. In January 2022 the Lord told me that I needed to tell him how I felt. That was SO hard for me to do, but a month later, I did it. I told him how angry at him I was. I told him how disappointed in him I was and how he let me down. That was the hardest thing in the world for me to do. But he already knew how I felt, and he was (is) strong enough to handle it. He did deliver me from that anger. And he can do the same for you. God loves you and has not given up on you. I am praying for you, and have added you to my prayer journal. It wasn’t until seeing everyone come together a few years ago at the Greater Allen AME Church in NYC that I began my journey of learning about the music of the group - I’ve loved Fred & Marvin’s music as solo artists for years and years. First met Fred during his days as the bassist for The Winans..... Many, many years ago. I remember the first time Marvin had Fred sing at a concert and the audience went wild. Not too long after that, Commissioned made its entre. It's wonderful that there is room for growth. Congrats on continuing to make art together, and as individuals.
