Dear Billy, Last year I read a comment from the daughter of CHARLEAN NELSON from America. Her mother had died the day you fitted the bell and she felt that it was comforting her. I replied, that in the future when I heard the bell ring, I would mention her mothers name in the comments, just to let her know that someone still remembered her sorrow and her mother. Well today was the first time I heard the convent bell ring, so I am keeping my promise. I wish CHARLEAN NELSONS daughter blessings and my warmest wishes. I wish you Billy warmest wishes for me being able to do this. Maybe it will help her a little bit. See how wonderful your channel is. It's NOT just a DIY channel, people from all over the world have invested in your achievements and are interested in other peoples lives too. Warmest wishes to you all, I am so glad I can see your tremendous progress on an almost daily basis. Pam
The party looked like fun. My, how Yannis has blossomed. You may have disturbed the spirits by bringing the organ into the Chapel or even brought a spirit from the Cathedral 😆. The tiles are beautiful and perfect. ❤🐨
Billy, I think those tiles would be perfect for the old Altar space in the Chapel. Here is hoping you have enough to cover the area. If you are a litter short, you could use the tiles, and frame them in a matching solid, to the blue or gold in the patterned ones. It is lovely to hear the voices of children echoing through the chateau…life makes all the difference.🖤🇨🇦
My daughter and I thoroughly enjoy the Petherick's adventures and Ryan, Simon, Yannis, and the crew. Is Ryan in a relationship? My daughter thinks he's funny.
@@christikapa3856 Seeing the tiles laid out on the Altar piece, the red tone would also be gorgeous…I had forgotten how much of the red there was throughout the Chapel to tie it in. The grey and cream would be too neutral to my eye…so red or royal blue…yellow ochre as the lesser choice. I guess we will see what Billy decides.🖤🇨🇦
@@ARTEMISE31 It would look good with oak framing too, as Billy said…but over time the wear rate would be very different between tile and wood, so hopefully he will consider using one of the jewel tones from the tiles to give a classy finishing frame, and tie it all in together nicely. I love how he wastes nothing, and has an inventory in his head, and a work ethic that won’t take the easy way.🖤🇨🇦
@@wclukens I too really enjoy this talented group of friends, and seeing what they are up to next. I don’t know if Ryan is in a relationship, he certainly hasn’t given us any indications. He is a natural comedic showman…I agree with your Daughter.🖤🇨🇦
Omg! The entire cast of characters is there! Even the ever elusive Rick! And look at Yanis dance! Looks like an awesome turnout with tons of fun for everyone!
So interesting to note that when Ryan went to check out the end of the attic where footsteps were heard, that he approached with his arms outstretched and thereby making himself look bigger and prepared for a fight! This is exactly what animals, and other creatures, will do to scare off an enemy! Love it....and the tiles too.
I frankly can’t believe that there AREN’T ghosts in the convent which would explain the footsteps. What amazed me was that neither one of them were surprised by the door closing by itself!
I lived in a house once that had a fair amount of that sort of thing happen. Mostly the sounds were normal everyday noises like doors opening or footsteps and were only a surprise on discovering no one in the house at the time or the door shut when I had heard it open. I was irritated once to hear the squeaky door lever handle pressed and not released. I went to look but no one there. It never spooked me out at all. I once woke to hear my husband get out of bed but just stand still. I opened my eyes and saw him standing there with a slightly silly grin on his face. I noticed his cotton fabric pj's were uncreased and had all the buttons on. [very unusual!] I wondered why he just stood there when I heard him turn over in bed..''Oh, just a ghost!'' I turned over and went back to sleep.
I love the respect and concern Billy showed for Ryan. His gentle words to Ryan about checking the sounds out now instead of waiting to help Ryan feel better were so sweet. That's true friendship.
The tile is beautiful and compliments the other colors in the chapel. Be sure to check underneath the space where the alter was prior to covering it. Relics were often buried under alters. Even though any relics were probably removed with the alter, you might find other interesting items. Worth a look!
Really like the tiles …the oak frame is a great idea, it will look much better finishing on a full tile at the edges than having a cut tile. Would be interesting if you put up some internal cameras at the convent to see if you capture anything when things get spooky.
They are benevolent spirits obviously, just sprinkle holy water around, or better yet get your village priest to come in and bless your convent. You are doing a marvelous job restoring this beautiful convent. Love your bells and they do keep malevolent spirits at bay.
@@reladieIt would be a bit odd given the age and history of the place (if) it didn't come with the odd ghost or two. A simple blessing from the local priest should do the trick.
Wood heat warms you twice. When you cut it and when you burn it, but solar would be amazing. In the attic, sprinkle some chalk dust or flour on the floor, back you way out and then the next time you hear anything, check for footprints, large or small.
It is amazing, the size of the Chateau's basement. The ceilings are tall and there is so much space. The other day I was thinking about your Chateau and the convent and thinking that solar might be a really good option. Also, we heat with a heat pump and it's just great. Heats the whole place with no problem, then in the summer you reset it and it's an air conditioner and keeps you cool. Well, I have to say you and Ryan are a lot braver than I am. I heard the footsteps, but when that door shut and you both just stood there, I was like, why aren't they running away! Or checking behind the door! Crazy! The tiles look nice.
The tiles are perfect! They will look great covering the old altar spot. As for any ghosts in the convent, I suspect they are very friendly spirits who would protect rather than harming you. It's the live ones you have to watch out for.
@@alexandrudorobat7386 Blessing? someone stormed out, more like it. Tiling over an altar space is no small thing to a nun. The minute they said it out loud they heard a noise of someone choking on their table wine. How precious. You just have to love the old ladies.
The tiles are fantastic - I love them there. Can hardly wait to see the organ get re-assembled. At my house, what sounds like footsteps on the roof always turns out to be larger birds, like crows, that are walking along. However, given the distance to the convent roof, it seems unlikely that you're hearing bird footsteps.
Billy it's going to be beautiful! Your idea was very good. I was perplex at the beginning but now, I am not. With the oak around and everything, it is going to be beautiful! Bravo! 🔆
I think that the tiles will be ideal for the Convent altar area. If you have insufficient you can make a plain border picking out one of the colours in the pattern
So nice to see Yanis and Rick. I’ve missed both of them. Love the tiles. What a good choice for under the organ. Looked like a lovely party. Thanks for sharing 💜

Looks great Halloween party Gwen and billy and lovely to hear the children and the tiles are lovely and the chandelier ,you and Ryan are so funny together can we have more please and the bell is magic and the drone shots are lovely Thankyou.🙏💖🕊🌟💎
I really like the idea of setting off the old location of the altar with these tiles. It marks the history of the place while making the space more usable, rather than trying to make it look like the altar never existed. And the tiles are beautiful. I wonder whether a very small bronze plaque set into the oak framing around the tiles would be nice, something to tell people who care to look closely what that space is. Maybe that'd be too much.
The tiles are wonderful. I love the colour and design. What is going on with the spooky noises again? You are right about the church bells disturbing evil spirits. I hope your bell was blessed.
Oh Billy you have such an engineering brain and so much foresight about heating.. In Canada Manitobans have resorted to pellet stoves as they get their alfalfa pellets from the prairies cheap..
