    Helpful video! But what about Army National Guard as an alternative to active duty? Our kid is starting AROTC in the fall most likely and is planning on a guard commissioning to fulfill
    scholarship requirements.

      Hi there, we specialize in helping students who are beginning their journey into the Academies/ROTC programs, and therefore don't cover GI bill utilization. However, there are opportunities for students within ROTC to become JAGs as well as physicians. We've recorded podcasts on this in our channel you can check out. Thanks!

    Do you recommend asking for a signed copy afterwards? Is this typical? Thank you! Great video!

    Hopefully this could be answered. If im awarded the scholarship and get the 10,000 a year for housing. Could i still be a commuter student a just pocket the housing allowance? Thank you

    • @ServiceAcademyROTCInsiders
      @ServiceAcademyROTCInsiders  Před rokem +2

      Not all colleges offer incentives for housing for ROTC scholarship winners, only certain colleges. Those incentives are up to the college's terms and must be something you discuss with the college or ROTC program directly. However, if you choose housing instead of a tuition scholarship through ROTC directly, generally that housing allowance is paid directly to the college or university.

      At the start of your Senior year you will go through the Accessions board. You input your wish list like if you wanted Active Duty and wanted to be a Chemical officer. If the Army picks you as going Army Reserve or National Guard instead then you will have to go into one of those components and they will determine your branch.

    Hi, I believe the Army ROTC Contract link isn't currently working at the moment. If you could update it that would be fantastic! Thanks.

    Aren't there four years of IRR (inactive reserve) commitment following the four years of active duty?

    Im 31 and about to enlist in air force. Id like to be an officer one day. Ive been told i could complete my 4 year contract, then use my gi bill to do college at a graduate level, and join rotc then, at age 35.
    Can i have yout insight into this method? Would i need to use gi bill in this case? I was told that i would not be eligible for the rotc scholarship do to age

      This material is for ROTC scholarship winners out of high school and does not cover GI Bill benefits.

    Im not in JROTC at my high school, do I have to be to get a scholarship? I wanna go into the air force, and i have a 4.0 gpa with alot of APs, does that increase my chances any?

    • @ServiceAcademyROTCInsiders
      @ServiceAcademyROTCInsiders  Před 2 měsíci

      You do not need to be in JROTC at your high school. However, AFROTC scholarships are incredibly competitive. Your interview and SAT/ACT scores make up a large component of whether or not you will earn the scholarship. The scholar, athlete, leader profile is important.

      Unfortunately you'll need to consult with a lawyer for this question. Best of luck to you.
