I am always curious to look at everything about Assyrian Empire history I am unsure of who was Ashurbanipal,, but he was Assyrian King ruled for about 40 years (from 669 BC to 631 BC,). He was the brilliant Ruler, wow. Thank you very much for your wonderful job, Mr. Panagiotis Constantinou!!! 😉👍👑🙏🙏🙏🙏

To think that Iraq and the adjacent countries were once teeming with lions, tigers, leopards and cheetahs and now most of these species are now extinct there - I think the last lion killed in Iraq was in 1920 and tigers long gone from the area where they got their name - from an ancient word meaning "swift" also shared with Tigris river because it is swift in its upper courses!

The Assyrians were masters of siege/chariot warfare. BUT..... their brutality was simply OTT.
That brutality would eventually come back to haunt them when traditional rivals, the Medes,Persians,Scythians and Babylonians eventually put aside their differences to obliterate the Assyrian empire.

@@panagiotisconstantinou I was half way through your podcast when I had to go somewhere else.
It's on me that I didn't wait until I had seen the whole pod I guess.
So,I just wrote what I knew of the Assyrians (before just now watching the rest of it). But by all means, get snooty about it...
