I’m 5 minutes in and knowing who you are, now what your gym looks like and your mindset on training, CrossFit, strength and function, life.... I AM a total fan!
Thanks for speaking the TRUTH!
Yep. I plan to start back Crossfit after my first 70.3 in May. Right now the volume would be too much , but as someone who did crossfit and bodybuilding before triathlon I can definitely see the benefit of crossfit.
Great Interview Tarin! Really cool to see how some of the greats train!!
Great format really enjoyed this ..... keep it up !
We need more Iron Cowboy!! Thanks Taren!
Awesome, thanks for interviewing the iron cowboy!soooooo cool!
the best video tt's ever made this ic is a savage positive energy and so humble. Perfect watch after my 10 mile run
Good to hear my weekly strength session is whats needed.
Met the Iron Cowboy at Myrtle Beach back when he was doing his 50 IM's in 50 States. Got an Iron Cowboy t- shirt ! Bonus ! Awesome guy👍
Forget what I said before about the first 3 min!! The whole video is awesome full of advice!!!
Gr8 video, advice and kept me interested the entire video
Wow and this is the home gym? I want to see the rest of the house now LOL. Is that space a garage? But I saw a car parked in a garage so... I know his property has to be amazing. Killer gym!
Love getting inside the training grounds of the absolute greatest athlete off all time.
Cool dude!! Nice pain cave lol.. need to train more for Guardsman.. sounds like a challenging one!!
This guy is a total beast 💪
this guy is borderline crazy... and I freaking love it. love seeing how fired up and passionate he is about training, this guy is probably the closest thing we have to a superhero and he's quickly becoming one of my idols. and I think you have to be a little bit crazy to do an ironman... or 50 in a row
ME (edit: muscular endurance) is KEY! I have added this into my training the past few months and it's made a world of difference. Also, a ski erg would really round out your gym.
Loved this video! What a cool pain cave - especially since it's all behind pink doors!
Awesome video! Thanks:)
When my coach gets fussy about me lifting and doing crossfit, I'm telling her that IC said it was ok ;) Seriously, thanks for this video. For sure needed to see this today.
I LOVE him!!
Best 3 minutes ever!!! Pick up weight!!!
James is an Original Gangster! Great info.
Great video. Nice guy!
The hand of Taren when the cowboy was at the railing :-) gas!!
This man is a STUD
disagree on the smith machine for squats and bench IMO power rack is the way to go
Excited to research him more
Thanks Taren another great video
He probably cannot afford to risk injuries doing free weights.
iron cowboy is making some iron cash! Totally not what I expected his house and gym to look like. Though he may have money that does not negate all of the insanely hard workouts this guy puts in.
Nice video
I didn't know about the documentary on netflix. Unfortunatally it isn't availible :(
Where can I see the documentary? Because it is not in Netflix
Cowboy I’d follow you to the edge of the cliff your the man. I use your energy powder it’s amazing nice to see your gym. One day I’ll get to ride with you. Happy you said the truth about CrossFit.
Marathons, triathlon and cycling has a lot to do with muscular endurance, however your vo2 Max is much more important( oxygen carrying capability) than strength. At the end of a mararhon, people say they legs hurt so much because their lactate threshold is low, and that has a lot to do with ur blood(hct, rbc, hgb percentage/count)
I am so jealous....🙈🙈🙈💪💪💪
Great video. Thanks. Another wealthy athlete with lots of time to train.
Jealousy is ugly
@@JR-uf7yf I'm jealous of no one.
Its way to train when not got a FULL time 40+ week job.
Wish I could race Guardsman; I’ll be at Tokyo 2020. Maybe in 2021...
I miss my power cranks!
@ 11:05 haha!
"no offense to you cyclists but I don't wanna be anorexic" lol every cyclist had a stroke hearing that.
50% off, this sounds a lot like Fyre festival ...
U should get on coupes channel garage gym reviews
I see a stepper and treadmill in the gym, but where’s the elliptical?
11:05 hahahahaha
I can’t believe he’s advocating leg curls and leg extensions. I am 100% for strength training but why not keep it functional and dynamic?
There is some benefit there for injury prevention. If you have imbalances in your quads, or between your quads and hammies, it can lead to some issues like patellar tendonitis, etc.
A couple of years ago, I had some issues with a kneecap tracking incorrectly due to imbalances quads, and quad extensions were a part of my prescribed PT.
But that was obviously a response to a specific issue, and not as part of performance training.
This guy is probably on testosterone. I'd guess between 100-250mg / 2-3weeks
FYI - In my opinion, which is based on facts. - James Lawrence's brother almost hit me today with his car while I was out riding my bicycle. He definitely has a hatred towards cyclists. First, he nearly rear-ended me as he was speeding through a construction zone. He then tried to run me off the road. I was forced onto the sidewalk where he then got out of his vehicle and attempted to come after me. The whole thing was very weird. The police were called and they spoke with this angry man for quite some time. I believe a sobriety test was performed. I am an experienced cyclist who rides about 7K miles per year. I obey all traffic laws. James Lawrence's brother has a lot of anger. He is the type of angry motorist that you come across about once a year. He clearly does not believe that cyclists belong on the road. If any of you viewers or subscribers ride on Wasatch blvd in Sandy, Utah please be careful and keep an eye out for this angry man. He was driving an old, beat up forest green Subaru with numerous dents. The UT license plate tag is 92BT1. Can't imagine why he would say that he is James Lawrence's brother. They must not like each other.
Core, yes. Strength, no. Swim, bike, run, flex. That's the sport.
Editing error at around 1:30, otherwise very nice video! Keep up the good work
El P X shut up
@@seanokeefe7618 and who the fuck are you?
Triathlon, marathon or weightlifting is good if you you’re curious about your genetic potential.
whose here before the 100?
LIFT HEAVY SHIT
I was gonna agree with this guy, but why is he constantly yelling at me?
Wow, what a gym. must have cost a fortune
Can I borrow some money James Lawrence?
First
Smith machines are hell on your joints, if you want strength training advice watch John Meadows channel....mountaindog1
Dam 50 iron man would cost over 40K just in registration fees. Mental fortitude and deep pockets. 😂
VictorZ3S most of them were not races. He did the Ironman distance 50 times, in 50 days.
Why do i feel he got some compulsive lie syndrom? Evrything is biggest, best and strongest?
Twats
if you look on his back you think he's curved like a grandpa...jesus
All that charity money
Jealousy 🤣 love it
Im honestly not that impressed by this guy. He has loads of money and is on loads of steroids.
Taren is much more impressive to me as an inspiration.
Was super intrigued to watch the documentary but after watching this guy joke about cyclists being "manorexic", I think I'll pass.
Truth though 🤣🤣
