    Appreciate the detail tutorial on how to use it. The thing that I did get confused about, and I ended up using the comments to find out it was, is what do I put as a username. After first I thought it was the name of my Users folder (which is different from my username) and then I tried my iCloud email and neither worked. I then saw that my username is my first name and nickname and the password was the one used to unlock the computer. Like everybody in the comments are saying, whatever User you add in the Remote Management Tab is what you specifically type in as username. So if the username in that tab says "No Cappin 24/7" then you have to type in the Username box: No Cappin 24/7

    • @AppleNinja
      @AppleNinja  Před 3 lety +1

      That’s exactly it, the user you select in the Remote Management Tab is the User you need to use to remote in. Thanks for feedback bud. Have a happy 4th!

      You would need to have port forwarding capabilities on your internet router at your house. You would need to login to your router and port forward any traffic coming in on port 5900 to the Mac you want to control, using either a Hostname (URL) or IP address.
      To get the IP address of the Mac: 1. Open Terminal Application (Command + Spacebar and type Terminal hit enter).
      2. Type ifconfig and hit enter.
      To get the HostName (URL) of the Mac: 1. Open Terminal Application (Command + Spacebar and type Terminal hit enter).
      2. Type hostname and hit enter.
      Here are a few options that would allow the ability when not on the same network without configuring Port Forwarding on your Router:

    Hi Apple ninja, is it possible to do the exact opposite? I want to control my iPhone through my Mac, the reason behind this is that I cannot use my arms however on my Mac I use a head mouse that enables me to do anything on the laptop. I would like to do the same with my iPhone by having a virtual iPhone display that I can control. Is this possible? Maybe via switch control?
