    In today's episode, we go over what I consider to be the most underrated style tip in men's style. I've been passionate about fashion for a long time now, and I can confidently say this one thing single handedly upped my style and understanding of fashion tenfold.
    Thanks to Everlane for partnering with us on this video.

    I think we should have more "unisex" sections, there are already some pieces which are widely accepted to be worn by everyone. I completely agree that men's clothing can get boring, especially fit and silhouettes. I am a guy with a small waist and big legs, so I love wider pleated trousers, but when I showed the pieces I wanted to buy to some friends, they thought it was women's clothing when I received the items and showed them how they fit however they agreed with me and told me it looked great!

    Dude I swear, I once accidentally bought a sweatshirt from the women's section (it was one of these shops where you can't tell where the men section stops and the women's starts) and it is by far one of my favorite sweatshirts I own considering that I am only 5.7.

    • @kawsarShirazul
      @kawsarShirazul Před 3 lety +54

      We need more of "not being able to tell where the men's section stops and the women's starts" because I once tried to buy a women's piece and this shop lady kept telling me that I was buying the wrong gender's clothes and I even explained it and she still gave me a weird look.
      Whatever, I promise I'm over the embarrassment she forced onto me...

    I always think about this. If you got a group of men who were about to go to a club and told them they couldn't wear jeans, joggers, hoodies or a shirt/t-shirt, most of us would be out of options. Women on the other hand wear all kinds of pants, tops, skirts, dresses and everything in between. I wonder how we got to the point where men's style is so boring.

      If you're interested in the actual, historical reason men's fashion is so boring I'd recommend you look into The Great Male Renunciation and Beau Brummel. The simplicity of men's fashion stems largely from a single ye-old celebrity who wore military-inspired clothing and everyone else followed suit.

    Second, what can I say as a woman: I was often jelous of you, men, have many great basic, monocromatic, loose-fitted options in men's sections. And one day I started to shop in men's sections for my basics (hoodies, shirts, jackets, sneakers)... It was one of my best decisions!
    So, do we still need to separate men's and women's? Yeah, I know we have different body structures...but who says every woman has wide hips, big boobs or slim waist? And who says every man has wide shoulders and long limbs?
    Gender-neutral clothes are the future.

Like you said, silhouettes in men's wear sections are rather repetitive and boring, and frankly do not compliment all body types (I have a broader body type, for my height). Unfortunately it does get rather awkward with going to stores and shopping in the women's section in India (all the staring is crazy). One of the brands I sometimes shop at if it’s in my budget at the time is Kith. Their spring for collection for men. Definitely have some good pieces but in my opinion, the women’s section is far better. Never personally bought from their women’s line but I may be inclined to now. Definitely some really nice textures, designs and colorways.
    Plus a hidden tip for men buying women’s clothing. A tip is to buy yourself a pair of leggings. When it’s freezing out, trust me. The added layer helps.

    This is cool because there was an oversized waffle texured t shirt that was in a sort of light neon/off white green colour in the women section of uniqlo that caught my eye so i bought it and it became one of my favourites

    Whenever I go to Uniqlo with my girlfriend I'm always amazed at how stylish and good designs the women clothes are. The only reason that I'm not trying them on is that I'm afraid of getting judged. But after watching this video I may give it a go haha.

      Also as a closeted trans man I have never seen such acceptance in a men’s fashion wear video. This also teaches other people to embrace being queer or be happier with whom they choose to be. Thank you Tim! You are truly an inspiration especially during these trying times 🤘🏻💛
