  • In the 2nd part of Sportsnet’s exclusive interview with Subban, Engels tackles whether some of the perception of P.K.’s character is actually reality, and whether he’s concerned at all with the current racial climate in the U.S.

    Habs management fked up. This guys has more heart than any other players. If his style doesn't fit with the team then work around that. Therrien and Bergevin are on very short leashes now. I wish Therrien had been kicked off the team long time ago because of his ineffectiveness on power play.

      +Idontwantyoutosee myrealname 103 points last year, added Yandle, Reimer, Demers, Sceviour, and Marchessault. Ekblad is transitioning into one of the league' better defenseman. Emergence of Barkov, Trochek, Smith, and Huberdeau, Jagr and Jokinen still putting up numbers. They are a team that should be taken seriously.

    • @Xicedragonnx
      @Xicedragonnx Před 8 lety +2

      The Cats are very good They have Ekblad Who is Going to be a future Norris trophy winner and they have An aging Lungo but Reimer is there to learn from him, they also got Huberdeau, Barkov, and the Agless Jagr, and they have Depth in Bjustad and Jokkinen, and they have some decent prospects such as Crouse, so Florida would be a threat in the East

    As a black person living in the States who watches and loves hockey, I kinda find that question about the racial issues a bit ambiguous. Why could he comment that issue as a Canadian who has only visited the US? While it's tough and there are issues, like he said, it's not his place to comment on it. Hopefully, winning is all that matters and can bring people together.

    @simonfraser8453 Před 8 lety

    I wanted to hold my tongue for as long as I could ,but I just can't anymore. I have never been more ashamed to call myself a Habs fan. I understand hockey is a business and at the end of the day the end goal for management in any franchise is to make the team better. Having said that,the only way that this benefits the franchise is strictly for financial reasons and clearing up cap space to bring in other players to enhance the team's performance and increase the team's odds of success to obtain another championship,but there were so many more options to free up cap space to bring in other FA's and make Montreal a legit contender. I think at the end of the day,yes the team gets a proven all-star defenceman but he's nearing the twilight of his career and his performance will most definitely begin to decline in the next few years while P.K. is entering his prime and shows no signs of slowing down. I hope that management does pay dearly for this gaff that they've made. Sorry for the long ass comment. I just really needed to get that off my chest...

    • @stevielikesdick
      @stevielikesdick Před 8 lety

      It's not the fans fault, you shouldn't be ashamed to be a fan of the team for it. It's the general manager and owners fault. I can see PK coming back to Montreal in a couple years, he loved the city and fans. Until then keep positive and believe in the players you have. From a Canucks fan who is rebuilding. We lost Linden and he came back, it can happen. You also have Carey Price ;) arguably the best goalie in the world at the moment. I wouldn't mind seeing him in his hometown blue

    • @stevielikesdick
      @stevielikesdick Před 8 lety

      All of your points are valid though I'm not arguing against that. I think everyone knows the value of PK vs Weber, just not Bergevin.

    Subban is a coach killer. He's uncoachable because his "brand" is more important than his team. His fans on social media take priority over his teammates. Shae Webber is all about the team. That's why Shae is on Team Canada this year (again) and PK isn't (again). Babcock and Yzerman want to win. Subban is no longer considered in the league to be among the NHL's elite defensemen. He's not living up to his promise.

    • @Fakename70
      @Fakename70 Před 8 lety +3

      Yeah, that must be why Nashville moved their captain, SHEA WEBER, to acquire him.

      subban was a +4 this year without price 51 points in 68 games
      webber was a -7 with rinne 51 points in 78 games
      and if you say that between this year and next year montreal has a better chance to win the cup than nashville dont ever talk hockey
