In the early 70s my dad had a Ford Consul 375. It had bench seats & I would often fall asleep in the back. No seat belts back then so I could have a proper lie down. ☺

This honestly takes me back to when me and my family used to go on holidays and my pops would drive all night whilst the rain would hit the window making me slowly doze off. I have always loved night rain drives and watching all the lights blurring in the distance.
Its actually inspired me to start my own London Rain driving videos. Allow me to drive while you sleep with the sound of rain. ❤️

Yes, a lot less traffic although they sometimes close sections of the motorways at night for repairs.

now at the age where instead of being a passenger i can drive a car all by myself i think its time to say thanks to all the dads out there i am sure they wanted to sleep too but still drove us all home

Dont you find a bit daunting when your driving and the motor ways are not lit properly or do you get use to it?
I don't mind driving in the dark apart from when its raining. I always make sure the headlights & windscreen are clean as it can make a big difference.

The first car I drove on the road was my dad's 1968 Singer Gazelle. I later had a Humber Sceptre & then a Hillman Minx which were virtually identical cars. ☺
