      Cotton pocket square are look cheap, linen pocket square are a good option for a matt finish choice of pocket square. Silk- 16×16/18×18 inches. Wool/linen- 12×12 inches. Cotton should reserved for handkerchief/ napkin/ cleaning cloth. Wool-Silk blend is one of the best material for pocket square along Pure Silk.

    @dennismai I love questions like this because they're where style is really at. Traditionally, the answer is no. And in practice it'll often look goofy, because you've got a big bulge in the shirt pocket from the folded-up part of the pocket square. BUT, with a very thin square that doesn't make a bulge, a thicker shirt material, and some bold colors, it can be a cool fashion-forward statement. Definitely casual, though, so exercise a lot of caution!

    Antonio, I am a really tall guy. I rarely find thrift store clothes that fit. But at the same time, I LOVE fabric. From time to time I find a $3.00 button down shirt at Salvation Army or somewhere with fabric I absolutely adore, but that I can not fit into. Sometimes I buy them anyway for inspiration, and I feel like incorporating these fabrics I'm drawn to in some way would really show a piece of my personality. Would turning them into pocket squares be a good option? Is it unprofessional to wear, say, a thin flannel material as a pocket square? Thanks

      Recycling fabric you like into accessories is actually really fun. You can take it to a tailor and they can create pocket square, ties, or bow ties out of the fabric.

    Great video Antonio.I agree fully about always wearing a PS when you have a jacket on.It's amazing how few men wear them....more should.In London here I think it's becoming a bit more common...you just have to hit the right areas like Kensington and Knightsbridge.Adds that touch of class and lets those around you know you care about how you look.BTW, the difference in the two whites on the comparison in the latter part of the video is evident.Very informative.Keep up the fantastic work!

    Antonio. My 20x20 inch cotton handkerchief (bought in Japan) is too big to stuff into the coat pocket. I know you address the sizes in this video, but I think I need to cut it in half. Not sure why a 17x17 is the preferred size. Thank you.

    I think the person who asked the question is in the same boat as I'm in. I've read in a few places that you want to steer clear of silk for a tuxedo, and should look towards a linen in either red or white. So would you say a cotton pocket square is fine for tuxes?

    Hi Antonio! really like this video! I am one of the only two people in our school that wear a pocket square in our suit uniform by the way (the other is a friend I influenced haha) anyway I was wondering about the degree of formality different pocket square folds. Do you think having more folds and creases decreases the formality? and which would be the safest type of fold? I am concerned because I like folding my own design of pocket squares from a plain white handkerchief :D

    Thanks Antonio! I'm a teenager in highschool but I still believe that dressing like a man is necessary even as a young adult. I don't dress out full-on sport's coat and tie but I do like to dress a bit more stylish. Might you have any advice for someone who is this young and still would like to dress like he's ready for the job?

    Great video but white linen is classic for a traditional pocket square. Cotton has become the cheap alternative to real Irish white linen.

    Hey is there any etiquette as far as matching fabrics of the tie/bow tie with the pocket square? Say if I have a matte/cotton bow tie does it matter the material of the square?

    hey antonio, I don't have any pocket squares and I'd like to start wearing them. However, I don't wear suits often at all, so I have no need to go about buying more than one. Is there a particular conservative, versatile colour that I can use with my suits. I have only 2 suits. Blue and black. I have a navy blazer. I wear that often. I live in new york city, if the location makes a difference. I assume white will be the colour or a light blue. advice? most likely I will wear the pocket square with the blazer as well

    • @Mrnoticecollectionpage
      @Mrnoticecollectionpage Před 8 lety +1

      +link3rd blue and black are neutrals..so you can literally wear any color with them. My advice for just starting out is to get a solid lighter color so it pops. I think you have the right idea with a white or light blue. If you want to be more adventurous, you could get a patterned pocket square that has both blue and black hints in it so you can wear it interchangeably. I hope this is helpful.
