I saw The Jam live twice, and this line-up of his solo career twice too. They are both the best bands he's ever had. Live Wood is one of the all-time best live albums - FIRE & SKILL!!!!!!

I remember Bruce saying in the NME that he thought a lot of the fire had gone out of Wellers music since he left the Jam. I guess this was Wellers response.

I love Weller, knows what he wants and what he´s doing, the same for Cradock, the bass super lady.. but this music is made by only one man - the drummer Steve White!!! Without him there would be nothing!!! He shovels all that music 10 levels up!!!!

saw him last year and seeing him thursday and is fire aint gone out, it's the doubters who believe the shite that bands should reform etc who are smoking embers of a forgotten era not the man himslef, 22 dreams I say no more roll on Thursday.

As for his new band: apart from Cradock, they're mostly shite.

I believe Weller´s power of music is designed and driven by Steve White.. Without him there´s no Weller... And I claim so as a songwriter guitarist myself.. That guy is a wish for anyone.. You get to see loads of drummers but then there´s one who makes your song.. I know only two of them Ringo and The Stones´ guy.. No Bonham or Metallica or Guns n Roses.. No No No.. They´re great, the best.. but not the best for the song!!! It´s only Ringo, Charlie Watts and this Steve White.. All the rest are replacable..

Completely agree with you. He has lost his way since Whitey left the band!

@@irw1970 And you're an illiterate moron. Steve White played on Weller's best solo stuff. Since then, Weller has had a sloppy oddball for live gigs.
As for Ringo and Moon: they both had different styles of playing for different bands.
You clearly know nothing about drumming - or the English language, by the looks of things. So do us all a favour, and be quiet.

I think you mean Charlie Watts.
Bonham is a genius and crucial to Led Zepplin.
As for Metallica: the less said about them, the better!

i saw this tour and not to say the subsequent ones have been poor, but he was feeling it here. It had a certain ferocity that I haven't seen since....then again mine is the fire that's gone out...shit I hope not!

@wozzi71 unfortunately you couldn't be more wrong... Eton Rifles is about a workers march that went past Eton School, and was then attacked by the little pricks that went there... so not two faced at all in actual fact.
