Thurman's been saying it since Spence pulled out of the Pacquiao fight. It's one reason he wanted that mandatory bout with Spence so bad. And it's largely why Spence had to go back to the negotiations table with egg on his face and make even more concessions to get the Crawford fight done.
Thurman wouldn't have done Spence like this because h3 doesn't have the ring iq or quality of team that Crawford does, but Spence would've been in trouble there too swinging like he did early.

I respect Bozy and Boots and KNOW they would give Crawford a much tougher fight than he had Saturday BUT just like wth Fulton Inoue, ppl saying they looked "off" without acknowledging that it was probably that monster they was in the ring with that made them look off. EJ balance been an issue for a while. He do a whole lot of heavy bag work but what happens when you miss the heavy bag. Also, Bud knew Spence's tendencies, why he thnk it didn't take long to download? He just had to get his timing and distance, after that he knew where the holes would be. Which is also why he was so fast and accurate, he KNEW where EJ would be because "preparation" + "genius". Spence looked like himself until that counter jab started landing flush.

Truth be told, if the fight happened when it was supposed to happen, I think the fight could’ve gone the same way, Errol still having the size advantage, but Crawford was much more explosive and quicker, especially with his hands and feet 5 years ago. He’s 35 now. It’s harder for him to make the weight as well due to age. His body wants to go up, because it’s easier to go up than it is to continue cutting, cutting and cutting.
He also said, “people gon have something to say even after I beat him.” Sad to say, he’ll never ever get a fair shake amongst some in the boxing community and casual fans, but the REAL know you can’t drown out his accomplishments and how special he is as a fighter.

Errol fought Ugas and Danny after those accidents and no one mentioned a thing about him looking slow, sluggish, off.. I remember Lennox Lewis during the telecast say “Errol looks like the same guy after the accident”. That’s why I said the gravity of the moment, a chance for him to be undisputed for the first time in his career against what had been his nemesis for years, you can’t allow yourself to come in sluggish, uninspired, etc. You find a way, the moment is here! Bud seized the moment, while also showing mercy. Bud never faced Spence. He doesn’t know how hard he hits personally. He’s been sparring Middleweights, Heavy Weights, Super Middleweights for YEARS, especially after he moved up to WW division. Who’s to say that Errol isn’t even the hardest puncher he faced? What’s hard for you, may not be hard for me, so I don’t think we should run with what Bud said about his overhand left and say “See, see, something was wrong.” Nah nothing was probably wrong, it’s just the punching power probably wasn’t what it was cracked up to be FOR HIM.
It was a masterclass and people should just fall on their sword and give that man his due. At 54, it’ll be the same thing, albeit more competitive (probably). Bud is a natural fit at 54 too, so it’ll be interesting to see what transpires next.✌🏾

I hope Bud fights Ennis sooner rather than later and then considers going up to 154. FWIW, I think Boots will be much harder than Spence was.
All greats never get they props when they dominate and make anything looks easy. They did it with Floyd Mayweather, Lebron James and they gone slowly do it to Bud as time goes on. They always gets appreciated when its all over.

Spence eventually allowed his pride to takeover and he kept lunging in, that left his head exposed to Bud's power-punch counters. Spence looked bad because he was up against a superior fighter who was actually stronger than him which also surprised Spence.

The truth is here: Spence Jr was always the fighter that showed up on Saturday. Plotting, flat footed, not too fast, not too powerful, below decent head movement. The thing is that he is not as dynamic as he was before the car accident and his eye surgery, BUT he made it happen by becoming an even bigger dog, a little stronger man who wills thru situations (like with Ugas). Other than that, Bud is just better, he survived getting shot in the head point blank, which is worse than anything Spence went thru. Spence is The Truth and one of the best fighters in the world, he is just so good at what he does, BUT he only has one game plan and that's it, only one style, too predictable for a wizard like Bud.
Even on the highest of high levels, a fighter can be two classes above the 2nd best. Just look at Jon Jones in the UFC for example. Same thing goes here. End of.
