      Same here. And why is he THE ONLY review channel to debunk the hype surrounding the BS complaints about VRR…Yet the same ppl will praise the Steam Deck OG/OLED despite it having no VRR and a lower-grade screen? O_0 lol

    • @miccherjack
      @miccherjack Před 3 měsíci +2

      @@deleon629 VRR is just a gimmick on a device with 8.8 inch display. VRR is needed on devices above 14 inches. The steam deck has no vrr and lower refresh rate but nobody complained until the Ally launched. I don't need the vrr. The 8.8 inch glossy display is the main reason I love that device.

      @@hk6926I sold my steam deck oled to my brother because the screen was too small to play certain games with a lot of text. The text is tiny and fuzzy on games like disco elysium, divinity, and baldurs gate. Also the screen is not as good despite it being oled. When playing monster hunter rise all the textures on the armors and weapons look muddy, fuzzy and there is no detail in them because the screen is 800p and the chipset doesn't have the power to upscale and run textures at 150%. Don't get me wrong, sometimes i miss the steam deck oled for its immaculate software and battery life, but the legion go has the screen that comfortably play any game so that's what I ended up going with.

    annoying people be hating about removeable controller and fps mode. we should be happy this is versatile device that could work as tablet aside from just being a gaming device. the fps isnt a gimick its also useful cause we dont need to bring extra mouse. the only thing i dont like was the weak battery, no hdr support,no front/back camera and tiny speakers. the os is a bit glitchy but 99% useable and never prevented anyone from gaming. theres a reason why onex brand copying this approach

      @@smidlee7747 I don’t have any experience? lol have you actually travelled? Travelling with a controller is a night mare especially the ergonomic modern controllers. Batteries don’t last months. Try doing that with a PS5 controller.
      All the benefits of docking are available for a handheld. Except a handheld is more portable. I can carry one single adapter with multiple type-c ports that can power my handheld and phone. I don’t need to carry an additional brick and a 6lb laptop. You talk about gaming in bed then mention a table. That’s not playing in bed.
      The convenience is having to just pull a single device and play directly ON the bed without needing a table. If you were to play with a laptop on your bed or lap it will be clunky. If you ever experienced that, my post would make sense to you.

      @@SAT1337 It's interesting you pick the controller with as bad as battery life as these PC handhelds. Why did you pick the controller with the worst battery life?
      I know you haven't had no experience making a statement like that.
      I have a 65" TV in my bedroom that I connect my laptop to. I've been gaming in bed long before there were pc handhelds. I have both options with wireless small keyboard , mouse , and controllers that the batteries last months before the need to replace the batteries. 95% of the time the only thing I have in bed is the controller.
      My family has no problem using laptops on the couch , in the bed .They still prefer uses laptops over the handhelds.
      I'm not so weak that I have trouble carrying around a laptop. When I went to school I had to carry books heavily than a laptop. What's wrong with this generation?

    This review basically covered everything I was having trouble with deciding between Lego or the Rog.
    The reddits make it seem that without VRR then the Lego tears and that games on low look awful compared to Rog.
    Only plus now with Rog is saving money as they're going at some great prices.
    But now, I don't care about the £200 I'd save, it will be well spent.

      Screen tearing isn't as noticeable or bothersome to everyone. To me it's annoying and the Legion Go doesn't have VRR

    • @Denis-pz6eb
      @Denis-pz6eb Před 3 měsíci

      There's no tearing on the Lego if you're framerate is from 40-60fps. And it's because of the 144hz everything looks so smooth. Coming from Steam Deck and when a game was fluctuating it was unplayable without locking the fps mostly because the screen was 60hz. 144hz makes all the difference

      You’ll end up paying the same amount for the rog ally bc you’ll want to upgrade the ssd from 512 to either 1 or 2 tb, as well as getting an sd card extender so your sd card won’t burn up in it. Only issue for me is it’s pretty bulky. I’ve thought about returning it and getting an rog ally because of the bulkiness but my eye sight is bad as well and I’ve already set everything up so I’m going to stick with it.

      @@Denis-pz6eb Now that is misinformation. There is tearing on the legion go. The Legion GO's tearing happens vertically not horizontally because the display is portrait. It being 144hz doesn't change that. I could feel the fact when the frame rate wasn't stable. ROG Ally feels far smoother thanks to VRR

    Too many issues with legion go. First the problematic software, secondly the controller ergonomics and those weird buttons. If legion can come out with a legion 2 with 8 inch non detachable controller it will be great. No need detachable controllers over some period those hinge will wobble so much it will be an issue even for handheld mode. The most problematic is the price, Lenovo sells it at more than $1000 USD in my region such a rip off.

    The moment that you dismiss the benefits of an OLED panel and say that the IPS is a better one, you're being dishonest with yourself. Then, you can argue if you prefer a bigger IPS screen instead of a smaller OLED one. However, the color experience of an OLED panel is far better than in an IPS one; that's why OLED technology exists.
    Additionally, this review is like those first months with your couple. Everything is amazing and awesome, no cons (minor comments). And that's far from the truth. Can you loved the device? Of course, but each device has its pros and cons. If you kept just LeGo, that was your choice, but do not try to convince the rest that the device is closer to perfect compared to the others.
    Finally, when you will reach 8h of gameplay in a 2D game with the LeGo, then you will be able to say that it has the same battery explerience.

      @@justswitched8841 I don't know. that 1600p screen is too high resolution. Yes Integer scaling is there as well as FSR and RSR but I think a 1920x1200 screen would have been far better for the Legion Go. The Deck's 90hz 800p OLED screen fit it perfectly

      The steam deck is just basically a switch 2 indie machine with a maximum tdp of 15w

    • @adolfbilic8622
      @adolfbilic8622 Před 3 měsíci

      That depends ... I have plenty of OLEDs in my house from the LG C2, Alienware Monitor, mobile phone, Steam Deck OLED, Rokid AR glasses etc ... This isn't a brag but to say i have plenty of experience with good OLED panels and to me I feel they are sometimes oversaturated even the top ones and a really good LED panel is sometimes preferable . The screen on the Rog Ally is a good example of a fantastic LED screen and I sometimes prefer the more realistic colours from that compared to my Steam Deck OLED or other OLEDs in the house... A top LED can be very good indeed and rival an OLED . It depends on the game but some games I don't like playing on OLED due to the games sometimes looking unnatural .
