      Because it is part of the culture over there. Black culture, that is. Music was a very important protest tool during Apartheid, and its now ingrained in the society, post-Apartheid. These angels grew up with song around them, which is why they are such wonderful singers, even with little direction or supervision.

      @kehindeemiabata4032 Před 4 měsíci +42

      @mulondokalemera7531 In all of Africa music and dance has always been an In tegral part of society and culture, South Africa is not unique in that. My amazement is that they seem to have this natural , unrehearsed gift of harmonising which I don't see anywhere else. In terms of dance....Well Africans all over the continent have that natural gift .

      @mulondokalemera7531 Před 4 měsíci +52

      @@kehindeemiabata4032 I am African, so I know. I was lucky enough to grow up in East Africa and then live and work in South Africa for a good amount of time - so I can compare the two different societies. Music and song is a bigger part of South African society than any East African society; their protests, for example, are 90% song (and toyi-toying - look it up). The harmonisation you see, the singing in sync; it is much more part of a typical South African upbringing than any other African community elsewhere.

      @shelleymiddlebrook1265 This really was beautiful. I’m not a religious man but this was definitely special.
      I kind of feel the same way, though not as intense, as when I watched a video some years back of a NZ couple at their wedding and the groomsmen all started a Haka to honour them. I don’t think I have ever been so moved by something as I was by that moment. I’m not ashamed to say that it moved me to tears. I didn’t understand the language and I’ve sadly never been to NZ (yet!) but it was so pure and so powerful that I completely felt the incredibly strong energy and understood the message. It was just amazing to me that something that upon first glance and being a total outsider can look so intimidating and threatening but yet convey such love and support and emotion. (I’ve watched many more Haka videos since then and know that Haka is many more things then just a challenge) As you can tell, it really struck something in me. I hope to one day visit NZ and perhaps witness it in person. Much love and respect to you, the Maori and all First Nations and Indigenous peoples around the world from 🇨🇦

      I am not from a tribe of any kind I was raised in a cult, our music was very dull more of a dirge than anything else. I managed to get away from that and did some travelling. I happened to help a neighbour out at Waitangi Day celebrations. (She made huge batches of curried chicken and mussels with rice &would need help on the day). At one point in the afternoon they did musical and dance performances. I had seen a Haka so thought I knew what to expect, how naive I was. As soon as they started to sing I had this visceral reaction, I don't even know where it came from but, I sobbed big, ugly, tears for the whole performance. It was so very beautiful to me. My neighbour thought I was nuts.
      I'm sure you won't care, but I just wanted to say I had this similar experience with Music from your home.

    My family came to South Africa in July 2023 and we stayed at the Nkambeni safari camp in Mpumulanga for several days. On our last night which happened to be my Son's 24th birthday, the staff came out and sang this song to him. First off I must say that I was so moved in my spirit and blessed by the song, I KNEW THEY WERE PRAISING YAH and ALSO SPEAKING A BLESSING UPON OUR SON'S LIFE. WHAT A BLESSING TO HAVE BEEN MINISTERED TO BY OUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS WHO SHOWED US SUCH UNCONDITIONAL LOVE. I MISS SA VERY DEARLY, BUT NOW I KNOW,..WE ARE THE CHILDREN OF YAH AND HE HAS A PLAN TO REDEEM HIS CHILDREN. SOOOOOOOO BEAUTIFUL...SUCH BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE and THAT"S BECAUSE THE SPIRIT OF YAH IS UPON THEM. ALL PRAISES...PEACE AND BLESSING TO OUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS ON THE CONTINENT OF AFRICA - FROM AMERICA...WE HOPE TO BE HOME WITH YOU ALL SOMEDAY SOON 💞❤💞

    Africans sing in all situations. When we are happy, sad, worried, depressed etc, in every situation we find ourselves and thats what helped our Ancestors to survive during the slavery period and kept them going.
    But for South Africa and Eswatini , its an everyday thing and the harmony is heavenly ❤❤❤❤❤️

    Watching from Maryland in the US and I've always admired African culture so much. The patterns are colorful and bright and gorgeous, the songs and dances are all so full of life and bring such joy. Nothing makes me feel so much joy down to the core of my being as hearing Africans sing their songs. I so long for culture like this in my life. We are so disconnected from everything over here.

I couldn't find it in the text it was sent to me, but when I Google "African high school choir singing" this was the first one to pop up! When I tell you they give me chills, man. Smh. They sound so blessed! And the lead makes it just that much better! You can't tell me Africans don't sound like life itself when they sing. I legit would not be surprised if this is how YAHUAH'S actual choir sounds. Thank you for posting this, family.
