  • We use both a multi-meter and a manometer to verify the proper operation of furnace pressure switches.

      It was ok , yet your hands were in the Way to observe the actual connections ....!

    What is the function of the yellow pressure hose?

    • @TECTubefilms
      @TECTubefilms  Před 3 lety

      Which yellow hose? There is one on P1 and one on Pump in this video. Dave explains how to use in the video. Is there a more specific question you have?

      @@TECTubefilms Sorry, I mean the yellow pressure hose that is in the background. I believe it’s called the “condensate trap relief port” hose. I know that it connects one relief port to the other, but I haven’t been able to find any explanation for why that is necessary (or what might happen if it wasn’t there).

    Can you wire a pressure switch backwards?

    • @TECTubefilms
      @TECTubefilms  Před rokem

      switches are not polarity sensitive. they simply break the connection

    Can't see where you are checking the voltage. Your hand is in the way.

    • @TECTubefilms
      @TECTubefilms  Před 5 lety

      It is a pressure switch video... He stated to check the voltage through the switch. There isn't much space there for Dave's beat up 'ol grabbers and show where, so he was very clear as to where to measure voltage in the beginning. Through the switch.

      @@TECTubefilms You are assuming we all know how/where to measure voltage "through the switch." I don't know where to put the probes. If I knew this stuff I wouldn't need the video.

      A pressure switch in a furnace only has two terminals so when you test voltage or continuity "across" a switch... any switch... you put one probe on each terminal.
