    My dealer for service has been GREAT.
    I get ~330 miles normal mixed driving in my EV6 AWD averaging 4.5mpk. My car delivers on the 18 minute promise and i’ve always gotten between 239-243kW at 350kW chargers.
    I don’t find the controls confusing at all. Everything i need is on the steering wheel or console.
    Not sure how having to get a home charger is a con….

    Yes, the buttons and menu is a bit strange, and there are many buttons. But when you have gotten used to it, it works good. And I like buttons instead of having to do everything on a screen. There are a lot of other pros with this car. The seats are really comfortable, and there is little noise, long driving is a pleasure. What I don't like is that small stones too often hit the windshield and make scratches. And I am not comfortable with parking it. The autonomous parking is bad/scary to use, especially compared to Xpeng.

    Great video, concise! One fact hear is incorrect. Although the EV6 is equipped with Vehicle to Home (or grid) it is not available in the usa. You can not use it to power your home. I checked with KIA USA to confirm. It does have Vehicle to Load for small appliances, but that's not going to power your home. Bonus if you buy one in the USA, you're paying for the hardware for VTG but you can't use it. This may seem like a small feature, but if you have solar power or want backup power for your home batteries are 10-40K and generator starts at around 8k with installation. This feature would be huge if available!!

    As a EV6 owner for more than a year now, I can say one huge CON is the US dealerships service centers and no true OTA updates. We get OTA updates for maps and some UI items, but not OS. I've test driven the Model Y (too nervous steering and overly harsh ride), the ID4 (smooth ride, numb steering, felt very heavy), Ioniq 5 AWD (numb steering, pleasant ride, wallowed a bit) and the EV6 AWD GT line. (This was the best of the lot in every regard.). The software was ok on the EV6. And they keep improving it. Tesla software was solid but no apple carplay? Lame. ID4 software was a disaster but apparently the 2024 gets a completely new system hardware and software.

      I’ve driven Model 3 & Y, Solterra, Ariya, Ioniq 5, and Mach-E. The only other EV even close to the EV6 (aside from its I5 cousin) is the Ariya but it is way overpriced. For efficiency, charging capabilities, performance, looks, fit and finish, it’s laughable comparing any of those other cars, including the Ariya.

New main screen, and a new shifter location. So I'd like to see what the new car is like. I also drove the Q4 which was better than the ID4. Actually the best EV I've driven was the i4 40. The best thing about this car is the 800v battery. It allows fast charging from about 10-50%, a tesla has to downgrade fast charging after the first 10-15% due to heat from a lower voltage battery - thus higher current. Having less current due to a high voltage battery will future proof this car and will help reduce heat in the battery. Its funny car reviewers dont spend more time on this. It makes these kia EV's in a class of their own.

    • @nochancecw
      @nochancecw Před 5 měsíci

      @@foam27 charging networks are only getting better and as they improve 400v battery cars will be left in the dust. With the release of the NACS (Tesla) ports as a north american standard, it will also improve interoperability. In 5 years anyone with a 400v battery will be left wanting. I'm very excited to have one standard charger and more cars upgrade to 800v batteries. The new cyber truck is 800v - so future Teslas will likely follow suit.

    The problem in Australia is the pricing (equal rebates all cars here)
    The Tesla is $8k, $10k and $12k cheaper in each category base, mid, high and is also quicker (except 0.1s performance v GT) and has both better efficiency and range in every category and much more usable space and access to the Supercharger network.
    The Australian spec also says 350kw fast charging for the EV6 GT but Australia has very limited 350kw+ DC chargers - it may become more important in future but for now anything over 250kw is of limited benefit.

With any luck, the company literally won't be around in a couple years. These people are so shady, so self-serving, They used to advertise that they have the best warranties in the business... And then all of their cars started catching on fire (mine included!) And they settled One of their class actions about that and supposedly they're going to be putting a new engine in my car, except they've had it for months now and I've heard no word back from anybody on whether or not they've decided if it's part of the recall or if it's somehow "my fault" in spite of them having records that I brought it into them for almost every service (or Valvoline for oil changes?), turns out they're pulling that with everybody because they are officially done switching out engines, and if you call any Kia dealership right now and speak to their service department, a lot of them are just telling people straight up, we don't have room for your vehicle. Now I don't know why any same person would purchase a car from a company like that, I really don't, but just a little heads up for you guys to check out the class action lawsuits going on. Also, they're locking features of the EV6 behind a $200 a month year pay wall subscription?
