- Trying out the Game Changer Audio Plasma Pedal for Will it Chug... it's pretty fucking cool man!

PLASMA PEDAL? Will it CHug?
This sound for me just like a fart or like a terrible sound smp
IMO that pedal SUCKS!
Can you review *PEAVEY 6505MH* and *Marshall Origin 5* ?
Cheers from Portugal 🍺🤘🇵🇹
*Suggestion:*
You could use this pedal to beguin a new series of videos called "WILL IT SUCK?"
No.
Please chaggtests for AMT SS-11 B preamp!!!!!Olaaaaaa!!!!
Sounds like an absolute stoner/doom machine to me.
Reminds me of electric wizard
Reminds me of Melvins
Fk yeah 🤘
I play a Rat thur both my Orange lunch boxes and it isn't very doomy. You need to mix in a fuzz of some sort to get that real doomy sound. I mix distortion and fuzz to get a chuggy fuzz. I suggest a Big muff mixed with your Rat.
@Penseur Radical you can buy a rat for peanuts let alone a clone

"WILL IT CHUG? - BOSS REVERB"
😂👍
Did rob scallion bring you here too. Reverb it's space.
Wait wait wait, we gotta test out the Boss TU-3 and see if it chugs first
@@johnfrenette Yes Indeed😉
I bought the TU-3W on recommendation of this post. Because it’s black it def chugged! It gave me a Blue E on the readout wow! Will it chug? Hell yes!
This is by far the coolest looking pedal ever. Should be treated as a fuzz, not distortion.
I think there needs to special considerations for declaring a fuzz to be chuggable. I can make a hyper fuzz chug with a little bit of gating and some pre and post eq pedals.
It is a FUZZ
I’ve got a broken behringer pedal that sounds just like this.
Figure out what's wrong with it and make more!
Behringer noise gate is the only pedal that has stayed in my chain since day 1, behringer will do the trick for a lot of things, not all tho
@@sinisterminister9920 I have a behringer noise gate too and use it all the time. I have a few others and the digital delay I found pretty good too
@@sinisterminister9920 Behringer SF300 is a hidden weapon
@@Wonmanbanned smart man, u know, I mentioned the Behringer Noise Gate at guitar center one day. At the checkout counter. The guitar center guys laughed at me like I was a dumbass but quite frankly the only dumbasses I know are the ones paying 100+ for a Noise gate 😂
I love it!! The TO808 is a TS808 clone, and it’s mad decent for $30 I don’t use it but it sounds close to my Maxon
I've legit been waiting to see if you'd ever try this pedal out, and welp, here we are! Happy monday boss!
Sup Ray!
SMR Coffee with Ola when
@@martincavazos1281 seconded
Sup ray. Stay metal man. Im subed to u as well. Love your videos.
Been hoping to see the same thing.
This sounds horrible in all of the coolest ways possible. I need one
Such is the way of fuzz
Chugging is fine but making a transistor sag and convulse in agony under too much voltage is just, well, it's just so much more evil than any lame distortion. Hm-2 sure, but it doesn't let you torture electronics to the point of them giving up. Voltage control (or bias) is some of the most fun controls to have when manipulating (torturing) a transistor.
Stay safe and peace
Blend knob. Tonnes of low-end with a powerful low filter. Gated fuzz sounds.
... I think this is an ideal bass pedal.
Scott Reeder had one in his story recently!
Honestly, i can sound kinda farty with bass!
@@erlannderrantem6972 you might wanna get that checked out
Wonder what it would sound like with my 12 string bass... thinking wall of doom
royal blood typhoons has this pedal on just about every song
This pedal would be great for shoegaze. You could just spend the entire show just watching it and no one would even think twice about it.
Lol...
This pedal sounds a million times better on bass. It just sounds meh on guitar, but plug a bass into it and you get a fat crunchy tone.
This would prolly sound killer on bass
@Penseur Radical come on man id bet it'd sound savage w bass. He wouldn't need to make one. Specially if thats the crunch tone your looking for. And while its not always my cup of tea it has its place. Since your an amp tech, you should mod er (fix) one and show us the diff 😉
@@mastathrash5609 There's some vids on YT of people running a bass through this thing, check them out. It does sound very savage.
@@mastathrash5609 listen to royal blood. This pedal (well the newer version of it called the plasma coil) is literally the fuzz he uses in the entire typhoons album
The both same time for a stoner Sludge, better than a thin distortion
The R&D department sure designed a *COOL* Looking Pedal...
To bad they forgot to make sound good tho 😕🤣🤣
@@evilelvis8989 sounds pretty good here
@@evilelvis8989 Says a guy who watches Terreberry...
@@HenritheHorse Thanks to you I now know what an alternate reality version of Jim Carrey would be like if none of his jokes landed lmao (I had to google what a Terrebery was... I'm old)
Truthfully, I dont necessarily disagree with Evil Elvis. Where I think this pedal has a possible application in Doom and Stoner Metal (maybe Djent, with a Fear Factory-esque sound) I dont see it working out so great really anywhere else. It sort of reminds me of the Death By Audio Absolute Destruction, but without the novelty and being more expensive.
Again, in my opinion, the pedal basically creates that 'hissing' amp break-up sound that guitar players playing dimed amps have been trying to mitigate since forever.
@@ThePenitentSquirrel I've seen videos of this used with bass and drums with great results and if I remember, sounds pretty cool with vocals too!
Ah yes, the pedal that's always in my Instagram feed
Bro your profile picture reminds me of someone bro
@@Kanae18 KSI?
@@Kanae18 That's crazy bro
@@Kanae18 Rudy Ayoubs profile picture.
I legit thought it was Rudy.
It's not chugging, but it's evil as fuck! Those low frequencies are growling like an absolute beast.
Definitely a niche sound, the kind you pay for if you’re really into it.
Definitely, its not a cheap hobby/career
@@justinmarang2721 Well, I’m actually surprised how far gear has come along that even as a beginner you can get a good sound without breaking the bank, and if you’re old school (or a seasoned veteran), you can sound good with most of what’s out there.
The only thing that hasn’t really changed is having to put down serious coin for specialty items like this one.
This is probably _the_ most badass-cool looking pedal I've ever seen. And I don't want one.
Don't? Why ?
@@FUCKINGRI0T Fuzzy. Not my thing.
@@OgamiItto70 oh i see, as a metal player i love this :)
Sounds like a permanent loop of me trying to figure out if my fucking car speaker needs replacing
The tube is "xenon-filled"- the signal is turned into a series of continuous high-voltage discharges. Your sound is actually traveling through the tube. The demo is decent. I would be afraid to break the pedal (if I owned it)...but that's not gonna stop me from getting it.
Sounds like a Metal Zone with the bass knob turned to 10 run through a staticky AM radio.
Looks and sounds like something straight out of Asgard.
Rapture / Bioshock
@@juandelafuzz imagine a Splicer coming at you with a fucking guitar
A cyberpunk version of the Doof Wagon would just be this pedal. But the size of a motorhome.
More like someone's ass is coming out of what the fuck would u record with this shit
Or straight out my ass.
Ola does the best pedal and amp demos. Really shows the range of the gear.
If I had enough money to be a gear collector I'd buy this just for that voltage display. Looks sick.
The plasma tube is actually used in the circuit, you are literally able to see what you are playing
@@vipervidsgamingplus5723 I know that's why it's cool 😂
Love the simple premise of your channel! WILL IT CHUG! love your vids man.
Been wanting you to try this one for a long time! Thanks Ola :)
Absolutely HUGE sounding for stoner doom genre.... not in your wheelhouse but it’s DEFINITELY got a place for me
In another dimension, this may be considered the ultimate in that universe's 'Will It Chug?'. You never know. - What does Loki say?
nice choice Ola! been wanting one of these for a while now.
Always amazing review!
Will it Sludge?
Chugs AND fizzes! Exceptional!
Got my first Solar guitar last week. Its the A2.6 model and I freaking love the neck feel.
I had a Crate Gt-50 sound like this after it was left out in the rain lol
had one of these for two years now. what a fantastic pedal
early Electric Wizard sound
Definite meme/audio GIF here @6:13. Awesome Ola, thanks for reviewing this pedal! I was really close to buying one of these just because of how cool it looks. I figured I'd only use it for recording once or twice, or demonstrating it for people, so did not buy it. I don't think we can get a Neural capture of this pedal due to the air gap in the circuit...too bad.
That pedal looks sick as hell
I just found a Facebook ad for the Plasma Pedal , I'm glad you made a video of what it sounds like
to me, its got a slightly sparky sound, like one of those Tesla coil electric guitar videos... I'd say from listening to your video, overall I'd describe the sound as 'post apocalyptic'
Best graduation gift, been waiting for Ola to review this.
Love when you use that guitar, love the color and look!!!
It just looks so cool, something satisfying about seeing the electrons of your sound passing by
Also that chug at 6:13...
And blend! Awesome video. Thing sounds pretty cool, definitely unique.
Love this dude. Good videos.
The slide solo of Descending by Tool is this. It makes for cool texture parts for sure
I wonder how it would sound into the power amp with blend fully on pedal.
Good question
I've actually been considering getting this pedal. It sure looks cool and it sound jank (in a good way) would you recommend?
Whenever I see that lightning I can't help but say "UNLIMITED POWWAAAHHHHH"
Nothing says High Voltage Alien Rock like Plasma and Fuzz!!! "May not chug but pretty f**g cool" Right on ;)!!!
The sparky thing is amazing.
That pedal is absolutely filthy. I can't work out if I love it or hate it
I’m pretty sure Jack White of the white stripes endorsed this. Kind of a crappy fuzz but cool I guess for people who love that fuzz sound. I would just stick to classic fuzz pedals
I would love to see Ola review those "Third Man" pedals that Jack had a hand in. They are crazy expensive and I wonder if they're worth the $$$.
Actually Jack White promoted the other pedal, the Plasma Coil, by the same company.
@@eljote3 cool story
Its best when used with loads of ambience reverb/delay and long sustain low tuned notes. in other words: its freaking amazing
I have one, Haven't had it out in a long time, Yeah they are fun, Thanx Ola....
Love this !!!! My son turned me on to it
I feel attracted to this little plasma tube, like gollum to the one ring!
My precious!
I feel like this pedal needs to be paired with a dirty Orange like a Rockerverb or OR15.
i feel like if u cranked it with a fully cranked or120 it you be kinda poggers uwu
Thunderverb 200
Our guitarist has been really curious about this pedal. Thanks for the chuggy riff demo! All the ones we've seen so far have been not chuggy. V sad
I was just thinking about this pedal while at work today, then I get home and this video is up. Maybe it's a sign?
Was somehow expecting the glass to break
Honestly, I would buy this pedal for its looks.
I just loved the track at the end! Do you know which track is it?
I would be curious what it would sound like if you boosted the treble before the pedal, with an mxr 6 band, for example.
Yes, this sound like an ideal doom pedal, just had an octave pedal.
On Mick Thompson's Rig Rundown all he used for his dirt section was the amp's lead channel, an Earthquaker Devices Plumes overdrive and one of these GCA Plasma pedals.
CHugged right out of the box, I think you sold it short.
That is one sick pedal!
sounded super good
Cool for stoner rock type of riffs. I was air drumming to those juicy riffs. Good pedal.
It may not chug, but it definitely does 90's grunge tones all day long. I bet Jerry Cantrell would give this pedal two thumbs up.
the coolest function on the pedal is the built in noise gate feature. by all rights that pedal should be very unwieldy when cranked but its super manageable as far as gain goes.
at first I was like - YES, it will chug but then - surprise turn of events
this reminds me of Black Sabbaths tone on the Paranoid solo. cool but slightly niche in my case i probably wouldn't use much,
Still more expensive than slashing your speakers.
May I just say that your hair looks Fabulous Mr. Ola
Woa that bass
Tyler Deluxe that thang with the HM2 woo
This is great on solo guitar tone!!!!!
My favorite musician uses one of these. Tim Skold! 🤘
Dude, that is some My Bloody Valentine- shoegaze in a pedal. Pretty cool
I bet Ride would've dug em
Viking metal dude on youtube plays with guitar gear to see if he can make it chug is one of the coolest things on the internet. I am not in a metal band. Metal barely makes the top 10 of my favorite rock genres. But for some reason I always have to know if it chugs. Thanks dude!
It looks cool as hell.
Warm and Fuzzy feeling.
The added noise is a bit too strong, but the blend with the dirty amp channel sounds really good, would love to see how it sounds in a mix!
I bought one of these strictly because it looked sick. Chug, it does not. But if you spend enough time with it, you can get really cool gated sounds from it. Good for overdubs and layers on tracks.
I love it for bass, provides a bit of a muse sound :D
This pedal with bass is amazing
I'm getting this pedal 👍
I found it was good for bass or running synths through it seems to love low end.
Definite sense of chuggage. Hell, I'm going to buy this for the electrical visual thingy.
For those who aren't quite familiar with Stoner Rock, Sludge or Doom this pedal nails the sound without all the equipment that's needed to obtain such thick buzzsaw spatter. Listen to High On Fire's track called "Baghdad" & you'll hear this tone is spot on except Pike uses Orange, Matamp & Soldano amp heads while plugging into a big ass bass amp via a/b channel pedal.
I highly recommend trying it with a bass (or 8 string guitar) mine seems to come alive on super low stuff.
Damn! That's nasty! I love it!
another great demo, Gnarly-Gnar-liqious Thanks. Gnarly as Sanctified filth. So many devices so little time.
Is it because it’s a true bypass that it cuts off like that ? To cause less noise in between riffs like the static ?
I couldn't stop looking at the fantastic t-shirt lol
it sounds like heavy gated cmos drive, like CD4049 or 4070 something, but whats that tube I really wanna know..
Got any pedals you recommend for lowfi
That pedal is sweet.
one of my favorite pedals, the blend knob is your friend
I bet it sounds awesome on bass, with that blend knob.
I wonder why no band has considered making the plasma on a larger scale for show display.. would be a game changer in live performance
I wonder if you stuck a tube screamer or a treble booster in front of it, it would chug maybe?
Ola will you try the triple wreck or a pinnacle v2 pedal?
Ola where did you get that shirt? It looks really cool!
