    probably one of the only actually comprehensive walkarounds of the Luton DART in operational service out there (including that random stairwell lol), cool shots!

      Thank you for watching! Hope you enjoy your visit. There's also a railway station in Luton town centre which isn't featured in this video.

    Hi Henry, love the English accent, so classy ❤ - new Irish subscriber in Manchester here 🇮🇪☘️🇬🇧 - I was attracted by the name, as I initially thought it was the new DART underground service for Dublin, as we Irish already have a DART service on Irish Rail, although we don’t even have the LUAS trams out to Dublin Airport yet, but it’s great to see that Luton Airport has the DART service - there is talk about a Metro system for Dublin, but aside from HS2, I’d love to see the high-speed rail tunnel from Holyhead to Dublin under the Irish Sea similar to the Channel Tunnel

      Thank you for joining me and pleased to hear you enjoyed the video. I've travelled on the Irish Dart and Luas in the past and made a few videos there. One at Dundrum Station on the Luas. I'd love to see the Metro North project to Swords and Dublin airport happen in the future and if I does I'd like to make videos on them to! :)

      @@HenrysAdventures I prefer SailRail when I go home to Ireland from Manchester Piccadilly so I usually change trains at Chester for Holyhead and onto the Irish Ferries Ulysses Cruise Ferry to Dublin Port (North Wall), as a guilty pleasure, I pay the supplement for the Club Class Lounge, but it can be a hassle to get to Dublin Connolly/Busaras or even to Dublin Docklands for the M3 Parkway trains with no LUAS or DART into Dublin from the Irish Ferries/Stena terminals - Bus Éireann have direct coaches from Dublin Airport, but even outside of peak times, it takes an hour to get out of the Airport towards the N2 just South of Ashbourne for example (as my family live in Dunshaughlin Co Meath, near Navan) - they are planning to extend the M3 Parkway line to Navan, which would have a station near Dunshaughlin, but it’s anyone’s guess when this will even get started, as I support the campaign for its extension

      @@michaeljohndennis2231 I did the line to M3 Parkway a few years ago. I'd love to see it extended to Navan.

    The Dart costs £9.80 return for a 2 minute 38 second journey in each direction.

    I’ve had so many conversations about Railway / Train station pronunciation argument . Imho it should be Railway station😊

    Really good walkaround, thanks for that. I have been traveling to and from Luton Airport for the last couple of years now and I was always wondering if there is a way to get from the station to the airport by foot. I do not know the area as well as others but I think that leaving the station via Kimpton Road exit should get me eventually to the airport? Is that correct? Thanks again.

      @HenrysAdventures  Před rokem +2

      You're welcome! Thank you for watching! Yes, if you leave Parkway Station at Kimpton Road you can walk to the airport but its all uphill.

    I'm pretty sure and I hope I remember correctly but there never used to be a tunnel/bridge under the taxiway. I'm sure, on the now airport side is where the old cafe/bar and play area were, im taking back in the 80's

      It was opened in the 1990s so what you're saying makes sense.

    I do think that the former Luton Airport shuttle buses that were replaced by the Luton DART could be used for the shuttle service between Luton Airport and Luton Town Centre.

    • @HenrysAdventures
      @HenrysAdventures  Před rokem +1

      From what I've heard they're likely to go for scrap. With the longer distance between the airport and the town centre the service wouldn't be very frequent.

    Going to Luton next week, and it's so annoying how the dart is the only way to get there. They have you trapped, so that's why they charge extortionate amount of money. What a joke.

    • @HenrysAdventures
      @HenrysAdventures  Před rokem

      Its great they built the Dart but like everything at Luton they charge an arm and a leg to use it. I've heard they might be dropping the price. But in the mean time you can still get to the airport on foot from the Mid Term Carpark which has free drop off or on a public bus.
