May i call bullshit? Any chance someone overdubbed this "backing track" for this video? This group put an LP & 45 out in the early 80's & i dont thiiiink they sounded like *this*?
Btw i love this "music" regardless & would love to see the whole "performance"
The Exciting Exhortations "The Way Of The Cross" LP can be heard on archiveorg. Guys on the cover definitely look to be the same guys that you see here. Band on the LP sounds very straight compared to what's here. So, what's really the story with this video?

@@louloulaalee1581 Ha ha, most people wouldn't understand that, but I can see that you do. I actually love discordant music. Steve Vai described it as being like tasting cayenne pepper for the first time. Initially you think WTF? But the next thing you know, you're craving it. I think acquired tastes are always the things you end up wanting most. Indulge me and Google Jemini: Cry Baby from the Eurovision song contest. They manage to get through the whole tune by not singing a single note in tune, not even by accident (they didn't win). But the tunelessness (if that's a word) is weirdly addictive. I think The Exciting Exhortations aren't technically the greatest of Motown groups, but if you fancy something a little bit more offbeat (literally) they really hit the spot. I picture Frank watching this and frantically scribbling away with notebook and pencil.

It's like eating very hot food like a vindaloo curry; it burns your mouth and makes your eyes water and your nose run, technically it's kind of like being poisoned, but the next thing you know you can't get enough of it. And for the record, Frank Zappa was one of the most gifted musicians the world has ever seen, as well as being an extremely intelligent and charismatic man. If you hated The Exciting Exhortations' performance, indulge me and check out Jemini. You know you want to.

That backing track has to be deliberately microtonal. It's hypnotizing.
