These students are graduated but can still get in trouble with the principal. And this got so viral that the school is under investigation.

And it's not just Korea. I live in indiana and three schools closed down for similar reasons. The school my niece went to would hold fundraisers to fund clubs and things in the school. But it was discovered the principal and vice principal were investing the money into themselves. They closed it a month ago. The students would put together these events and do so much thinking it was for them. My niece did cheerleading and we would stay up for hours for the monthly bake sales. I invested alot of money and time into the event myself as my niece's guardian.

And in other countries, singers visit military bases. All the soldiers who see female singers' performances are perverts????? The reason why Korean singera perform in Korean military bases for soldiers is because Korean soldiers cannot go out from the bases without allowance. They always have to stay in base. So they have no chance to experience cultural activities like music performances. I can't understand why there are so many negative views on Korea even though there are few people who exactly know about Korea.

I saw two people who committed the same crime, rape, only a few months apart from each other. One guy was white, educated. The other guy was black. Guess who got out of jail time? The judge refused to put the white guy in jail because it will "ruin his life." I think Jungkook might have some issue in the school too. To be honest he still felt he was lucky not to be going to school that often as well as not even study at that school. Sure what you said makes sence but if you look at his face that he is glad that he left school let alone didnt have any friend bonding there. Like they must be one person that he made friends with. You know his classmates said that Jungkook was very quiet because he is shy. But maybe something that he had to go deal when he is at school and especially when he was debuting as an idol. He found it hard because he needs to support his family also for his career. Im also sure that Namjoon and the others teach him more when he need some help in his homework. His IQ is not bad for someone who havent to been to school that often. So yeah. You get me.

this is a story of my experience at SOPA.
okay so i’m a korean/american person ( studied in america for 4 years, but born and raised in a primarily “asian” household ), and because of my father’s job, we had to move back and forth from seoul and cali a lot. i never knew what his job was since i never questioned it, but i did know he worked at a school.
fast forward a few years, i moved back to korea and started going to an international school and one day we had “take your kid to work day” i’m not sure if other korean high schools have that but from what my friend told me, it’s not so common? anyways i asked my dad if i could go to his work and see what he does as a teacher ( i won’t say which subject he teaches just in case because he still works there) and he said okay. now i’m not sure if this was addressed, but apparently my dad didn’t let the administration know that i was coming, so when i showed up they immediately questioned me. my dad let them know i was his daughter and they kinda just side eyed it but let me in. i assume since my dad was really loved around there, they decided it was alright.
now this is where things kinda got weird. i met some of his coworkers and they were all very kind, and gave me a lot of sweet compliments, but as soon as this man walked in, everyone just kind of went silent. now i’m a very outgoing person, so i decided to introduce myself very formally to him but with out even making eye contact with me, he turned to my dad and said “who is she? why is she here?” my dad immediately let him know why i was there and apologized for not letting him know directly, to which he scoffed and said i had to leave before the lunch bell, and then left the room. i later found out that he was the principal.
after that, i followed my dad to his class and sat in one of the seats so i could observe the class as he taught, and as the class slowly filled up, i decided to introduce myself to the girls behind me. they were very kind and funny and we eventually exchanged kakao’s. they were interested in my life in america, and i was interested in their goals to become idols.
as i observed the classroom i noticed that some things looked quite literally “dirty” and run down which really surprised me as the tuition was known to be high and their reputation of being the best arts school in korea, i guess i just expected the facilities to be well taken care of. then i guess you cold say i did a bit of ease dropping as i heard this group of students beside me talking about an event they had to attend the night before. this surprised me considering it was a wednesday, and having to attend an event in the middle of the week, and having to practice late and early the day before just seems brutal. i later found out from that same friend that this was just a normal occurrence.
even after that day we continued talking and she told me all about the same things those students talked about in that video. it wasn’t news to them, it was taboo. it’s almost easy for students to be exploited like that, in an environment where most of these kids just want to preform. if students ever complained they were usually given consequences and told not to question anything.
to all the people calling these students “attention seekers” or “ungrateful” just consider the fact that they’re risking their reputation in the industry in order to speak up and talk about this issue. they’re working towards change and bettering the school that they love, not bitterly defaming it. i’m happy that they’re finally getting their justice, hopefully things will be managed better in the future under new authority.
and before anyone asks for things from my fathers point of view, he told me most things were organized by higher ups and even teachers didn’t know about events the day before. while teachers had to accompany the students to these events, the administrators were usually behind the scenes, telling them what they had to do, and of course, were not paid any of the alleged money they’d receive for the event. it was just a whole lot of confusion and mess due to the people at the top, being greedy and exploiting these students. but i’m glad this topic is getting a lot of attention, it’s all that students are talking about on social media right now, and there are a couple videos made by actual students from SOPA talking about the issue if you’d like to hear more about it.

It's called human trafficking or mail order bride. That said, why are you going off about mail order brides?!🤔 At issue here is how performing art schools mistreat their students! To my knowledge, the US has never had an incident of this magnitude, where a school used its students to perform at businesses and armed services in skimpy outfits. That wouldn't even go down with the parents association of the schools that oversee such activities and fundraisers. There is a huge debate about the clothing dance, drill, cheerleaders and band members wear which are often times too revealing AND promote the "white ideal of beauty" while discriminating against black and brown students of color! So yes, because of the US being founded on slavery, its white population feels it's entitled to use minorities as it choses AND that children are the property of the parents with few rights but to obey the parent. That said, no school in the US would pimp out its students like SOPA did! What we do wrong is expect 13-20 year olds to practice sport, band, dance and art up to 20-30 hours a week for the glory of the school and to raise money for their programs because our country is to selfish and stingy to invest in schools! This leaves many young people with great memories, but no real education!

I joined a dancing academy one summer as a kid, I was around 10-11 yrs old, and since it was the only dance class available in my community and I went to the same one the next 2 summers as well, and over those years I got close to all the girls and boys who attended it along with me, we had loads of fun! One summer we went to another district to shoot a music video, it was so cool, but the next summer, the dance teacher took a selected few of us to dance at a birthday party (a kid who was younger than me ), later we were told it was cos the father of kid whose birthday it was, got loads of connections with a major TV channel. And that it was to impress him, I still don't know to this day if there was any money, that was involved. We weren't even told where we were heading to, all that was said was "it was a great opportunity". Whenever I think about that party, I feel so ashamed! I felt the same way back then too, as 11 year old. I only went back to that academy cos I loved dancing and already paid the fees, my dad got furious after getting to know about the party and asked me to quit the class, so I asked my mom to just talk to the head to never drag me into any of those parties ever again .Later we got a change to participate in a dance competition, I was so excited. As a kid I never told any of my friends from school that we actually won first in that dance competition until it was to air on TV, cos I was just so shocked to even receive first place. But all of that happiness got stained with the bitterness by learning later that we got a chance on that major TV completion cos of that kid's father, the same kid on who's birthday we danced at. Sometimes I try to brush it off by telling it to myself that "it's okay". But it's not, I wish the head of the academy had told us or our parents where we were heading to or what we were doing. So, to see this happen to these high school kids makes all the memories come back. I know what's it like to be kept in the dark, and I hate what they went through!!!

I love how you both address all kinds of issues in your channel without limiting it to Kpop. That's why you're unique. And I love everytime when you post something about society and reality ! For giving the knowledge for people like us who are more into Korea, than just Kpop.
You are being like an ambassadors. Spreading the knowledge about your country worldwide.
Also I like how bold you both are in sharing the true stuffs !
I'm so happy to see someone doing great in what they love. Finally. Doing the thing that your heart loves. You'll obviously shine more because you're doing what you're passionate about.
    Keep going 💜

Thank you David and Danny for talking about this matter. It is a serious concern that requires State and/or even Federal attention. I appreciate you guys for providing your own research and efforts into making this video informative.
My concern with the video is with Danny. please be more mindful as to how you address these situations. I understand that everyone reacts differently to sources, but to smile or laugh at teachers abusing school money for their own benefit, students performing for private insurance businessmen, bringing female students to military base or boys school etc...is inappropriate. I understand that you're not laughing at the victims but laughing at the ridiculous level of atrocity of the manipulators. But there are victims who were harmed, psychologically damaged, and families who are or had been struggling financially. I appreciate David for handling this matter appropriately and maturely.
Overall, I cannot thank you both enough for compiling these sources to bring this issue to our attention. Much appreciated for your hard work.

The school itself is corrupt and this is seriously sickening but no lie it sounds like some situations within the Kpop Industry or the general music Industry itself which some idols/artists have gone through in the past or are probably going through right now. This is pretty messed up but not all too shocking all things considered within the world these days.

not sure how accurate this is, but I have read that it is because everyone wants to teach in Seoul and no one wants to teach out in the countryside. So teachers have to rotate around so you can work in one place for 4-6 years and then you have to go somewhere else.
