James getting all 33 Godzilla movies in the correct order was actually quite impressive.
Parental Guardian Your name basically means “no parental guardian”
"that's a lot of fish"
Son of Godzilla and Ebirah in wrong order but everything else was correct.
@Parental Guardian Really?
@Parental Guardian Just wondering, what makes you think anyone would want to read such an obnoxious comment?
Can't say I'm a Godzilla fan, must have seen about three in total, but I could listen to James talk about it for hours. You can see the genuine passion
James knowledge of Godzilla is legendary
Not good enough. He forgot the anime.
Who would win in a fight between Godzilla and Whoopi Goldberg?
@@Prof_Tickles92 Is that a serious question? Obviously Super Mecha Death Christ
@@Exterminate265 we dont like to talk about them
@@Exterminate265 couldnt care less about the anime
Great video guys! We appreciate the little Wikizilla cameo at 14:33.
😏
Kyros Droztamyr bruh what
Wikizilla iam one of your subscribers cause iam a godzilla fan
If you think about it there's still actors in motion capture suit. Playing the characters.
You also got a new subscriber
He got all the Live Action films, so I'd say he's won.
33/33, Great Job James.
That was the testament to how much of a nerd he really is.
The anime movies are awful and I don’t count them, anyway.
I could do the same for the 37 German Masters of the universe audio adventures ....
Pretty fuck good dude. Pretty fucking awesome for james to name all
impressive
mega impressed that James could list off all 33 Godzilla movies. Sometimes I have trouble naming all the Star Wars movies lol
But there's only 3 Star War movies....
@nicholaskay Baboom!
Sometimes I have trouble naming more than one. Lol
Holy crap James listing all the Godzilla movies was insanely impressive!
The way James stopped listing the movies with the flawless "that's Moguera" and then went right back to it was just so badass
Mike: "I wonder if you could name all the Godzilla movies?"
James: "Strap this on your saurus and hold my beer!"
I had a feeling he was about to name them all 😂
Hold my Rolling Rock.
2 things I'm looking forward to this weekend:
1. Godzilla: King of the monsters.
2. James and Mike's review of this movie.
Same
Their review turned out to be shit. I swear he’s like the gewunner for the Godzilla franchise now it’s sad.
@@anonymousgoblin792 Yeah, I watched his review and end up didn't like it. I feel like he was focusing too much on nitpicking. Maybe he and mike reviewing - like Shin Godzilla - would have been different. Oh well.
@Kenshiro Fist Oh it certainly was.
@@anonymousgoblin792 I don't think the gewunner insult makes sense for other franchises, other than Transformers. Godzilla doesn't have generations, it's relatively eras that are similar to Japan's eras. Ex: Showa, Heisei, Millennium, and Reiwa era Godzillas.
Being able to name all the Godzilla movies in order like that is one of the nerdiest things I have ever seen. Very impressive
Too bad Mike couldn't mention the Godzilla NES Creepypasta (In my opinion James NEEDS to see that)
I heard of that before
Anyone else Binging Godzilla-thon to get ready for King of Monsters this Weekend?
My grandfather has been watching several before seeing it. So far he's enjoying them.
Pretty much. I can't wait for the movie. I've watched all my old, campy movies as well.
Heck yeah!
DESTROYAH!
Meeeeeeee🙌🏾
The Doom II music when James gets scored & get's 100%? Classic AVGN/Cinemassarce. Really great moment there.
I only wish they had used the original Doom intermission music, far superior to the Doom II one IMO.
The ending of this game made me cry as a kid, I was sad that Godzilla was lost out in space somewhere.
The music was quite bittersweet.
At least he had Mothra with him.
"In a row?" Best clarifying question ever.
Thumbs up for James' boss knowledge.
I'm bloody impressed that James can name all 30-odd films in sequence. Nice one!
In reality he is the non-angry movie nerd :)
only 2 films he had the order wrong on; but nonetheless impressive.
If it was anyone else I'd say they had it written down behind the camera and scripted it in, but come on... It James, you just know he could reel these off and any time.
Mike: can you name all the Godzilla movies?
James: Omae wa mou shindeiru (33/33)
Mike: NANI !!!
Inside James head: "yes, someone finally asks me to list them all, this is my moment to shine!"
Alejandro Villalaz Me when people ask me to name Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee films.
I know you were waiting for a coment like this, so here we go
STILL THE BEST
1973
Run.
Nice, maybe James should read the story lol
Every time I watch NES Godzilla AVGN epi I remember this creepy, one of the very best creepypastas ever
Bless you.
One of the most amazing and impressive aspects of all the early and some later Godzilla / Gamera / Monster films were the miniatures , the buildings and landscapes . the use of water , such a loss , it was a real art form.
Godzilla for the NES was one of my weekend go-to games to play as a kid
Run.
@@thunderphoenix440 Where to?😂
Godzi-- monster of monsters is my favorite game!
you already have a clue on how half-assed this game is because HE IS BLOCKING HALF THE TITLE.
WITH HIS ASS.
My favorite game is Godzilla strategic operations simulator
Just for future reference, you can put the cursor on the enemy monsters and press either A or Start I think and it will tell you who their name and I think their health.
I loved James’ quizzes. He really loves Godzilla wow
Thank you James and Mike for entertaining me every monday
Getting some NES Godzilla Creepypasta vibes
Still the best. 1973
One of my very favourite games of all the NES library. Thank you for the nostalgia, guys!
W game
It's never, Destroyer
It's always DESOTOROYAH
Oh you should do a video on that Godzilla NES creepypasta, it's more interesting than it sounds.
You beat it to me! But yes he should, in some way it sounds like AVGN himself actually
@@thewhiteskull4003 hot
Still The Best 1973
@bigevilworldwide1 Not exactly. Through it does have some typical video game creepypasta tropes, they're used minimally; with the pacing and world-building making up for it.
I had this game in 87. It's pretty cool seeing that it's still being played today.
The Game Didnt Come In The U.S Until 89
I could picture James walking out of King of the Monsters disappointed saying,
"Nope, still not a guy in a suit" lol
I wonder if James ever came across the NES Godzilla creepypasta
This game has one of the most underrated soundtracks on the NES.
It really does. Especially the victory song when you beat it.
It's pretty good, but nothing special really
@@MrEvol94 naw, it being so melodious & fluid is pretty special.
I used to play this as a kid for hours, and had forgot about it until I saw this, took me right back to 1990 or 91 and wow what a weird feeling, thanks
I've always had a soft spot for this game. the graphics and sprite work was pretty amazing for a 1988 Nes game, the music was also excellent."The Earth" and Password themes come to mind as stand out tracks.
The music in this game was actually really good
OMFG! All hail James Rolfe! The Godzilla Guru God!
“In a row?” Best accidental Kevin Smith reference... ever!
37?????
Loved this game back in the day. Have it now on my classic Nes with 8k games.
8:57 Oooh they even have the Gotengo battleship from Atragon and Destroy All Monsters in the background!
You guys should play the NES Godzilla creepypasta game when it’s completed!
This game was my favorite game to rent from the library when I was a kid.
I love the music in this game. One of my fondest memories of playing this when I was a kid
James, you won. I am now about to start the list you sugested in the Godzilla for Begginers video.
One of the best NES soundtracks.
James rocking the Iron Maiden hat!! Hell yeah!
Makes me like this guy even more, up the irons!
Live action also has Son of Godzilla from 1967.
Hanna-Barbera did the Godzilla Power Hour in the 1970's.
Wait to see the Creepypasta versión
i did read that. awesome stuff
Still the best, 1973
That will be amazing to see that. xD
good sprite work and "not bad" piece of writting
Can't believe they didn't mention it lol
God damn how do you remember all those movies
When you are a big fan, its possible.
I remember all of them too, I grew up with Godzilla ( movies, toys, games and cards) it makes me really happy that one of my favorite CZcamsr is also a huge fan of the movies.
He's a nerd 🤓
Look for the codes to see King Ghidorah.
Destr0y all m0nsters will put all monsters on stage 1
This was one of my favorite video games growing up. Thanks for playing this.
The whole "At night fighting in the rain" thing I'm like 99% sure is to reduce CGI costs as you don't have to make things as detailed in low light levels.
The fact that James can name all 33 live action Godzilla films in order off the top of his head on command with no practice is baffling.
Carson Hearne Flimmaker Actually he didn't name them in order since Son of Godzilla and Ebirah are out of order.
@@mattford6848 at least most of them though
He actually named 32, not 33.
There's only 32 live action Godzilla movies as of now.
Next year, when Kong vs. Godzilla comes out, that will be #33.
@@cyberray1976 nah man. He counted the new King of Monsters too which made it 33
@@carsonhearnefilmmaker8373 Nope. The new King of the Monsters film makes #32. Trust me. Go back and count if you don't believe me.
the kicker with this game was you beat the map with the satellite but then it drops you back to the map and I never think to select it again to transport to the next planet... bought it used and no manual and no internet to look it up. Loved the crazy imagery despite how bad I was at it.
My best friend had this game when I was a kid. I used to go to his house all the time because he had more NES games than me. We played lots of this, Wizards & Warriors, and Empire Strikes Back. Then I got a Genesis and he started coming over to my house ;-)
The Godzilla AVGN Episode is one of my Favorites😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️
What was Godzilla’s least favorite school subject?...
Gram-Era
I thought it was Mathra.
I only knew NES Godzilla for the Creepypasta. It was strangely refreshing to actually see the gameplay
6:55 - Finally learned how to get past 'level 1.' I never was able to figure this out. I think all I did was use level skips to try the other levels.
great underrated NES game with a beautiful soundtrack. thanks for doing this one!
The best thing about Nes Godzilla is the creepypasta based off of it.
i love the atmosphere in this game.... one of my favorites to pop in for a quick few levels
Wow, fucking great on the Godzilla quiz! That was impressive.
Mike: "Can you name all the godzillas?" James: "Hold my Rolling Rock."
Yes! I've been waiting all morning. Thanks, guys.
Has James or Mike ever read or heard of the Godzilla creepypasta? It's based on the video game that you are playing. It's super long, with a total of 5 chapters.
You Mean 8 Chapters The One That Has 5 Chapters Is Nes Godzilla Replay
I love James and Mike Mondays!! The point James makes about showing the monsters fight in the day, instead of constantly at night in the rain is a really good one.
It's so nice to just come home from a long ass day at work and relax and watch the weekly james and mike monday video, really love these videos.
Perfect timing, I'm currently watching Godzilla Raids Again.
Same! On TV
Umm, like, it's known as G.R.A.
I think James like monster movies.
Also, points for the Doom end level collection sounds. Loved that.
Mikes face when he realizes the magic that’s happening about 15 to 20 into the Godzilla challenge lol
Jesus, all bow down to James' Godzilla nerdom knowledge. That was impressive.
This game is really fun, gonna play it this weekend
Godzilla is approaching the generator....
The generator is losing power!
Godzilla has destroyed the generator
We can give Godzilla all the power and make him into Super Godzilla!
I've beat this game many times. Spent hours going through it. There is a password system that you could always use, though it's always crazy long. I also can name all of the Godzilla movies by memory easily. Impressive James, as always.
Great video, I could sit and listen to yall talk about godzilla all day. I find everything about godzilla fascinating.
I really wanna see James talk about the Creepypasta of Godzilla NES
Up!
A 0.0.2 version of the game has been released on gamejolt !
This is an absolutely Classic game. But it is so difficult
There's 33 Godzilla movies?? Wow
Son dos fenomenos muchachos!!! Los admiro mucho!!! Godzila era una cagada!!! Saludos desde argentina!!! You are great guys!!!
Viva Los Argentos!!
Impressive Godzilla knowledge there James.
And Mike... love how you keep pushing up those invisible glasses on your face!? ;)
James Rolfe: King of the Godzilla Nerds.
James Rolfe: KGN
✨〰✨
And this is why we love you, James. Your passion for games/movies is impressive.
I got that game when I was a kid. Love it
James, Pacific Rim Uprising actually has daylight battles!
the second pacific rim had more than one day scene 🤔
I saw some scenes from Pacific Rim Uprising and it had daytime fights. I feel like night time monster scenes make it a little creepier, so I don't blame them for sticking with that for King of the Monsters.
This is why James and AVGN is so enjoyable and respectable. He’s a real nerd, genuinely interested in what he does. Proof in him listing all Godzilla movies from memory.
Well you have my attention now haha this game took my soul away once upon a time...when I thought it was the shit 😂 thank you guys SO MUCH for this
Take a shot every time godzilla is said.
Richard Smith you want be f*cking dead of you dead that
I drink a good amount but I'd be smashed after 20 sec lol
@@KingLich451 I would be fine until the challenge 1 minute in. Then you better call an ambulance.
Was suggested your ten year old video on the Godzilla games right before seeing this was posted today, watching them back to back has been quite the experience
Mike's sassy reaction to GMK was hilarious 😂
Your Godzilla knowledge is second to none!
That was impressive from James!
wow what a trip. i paused this video and binged the entire godzilla anime, now coming back to finish the video. never watched any of these movies before
Always happy to see their faces in a new video
I wish there's going to be a new Godzillathon, even though all of it has been covered
But honestly he didn’t review those movies that good. They were pretty brief and says whether they were good or bad. His later reviews were much better.
Godzilla will be upping the Irons this weekend. 🐲 🤘
9:04 I dunno if Mike will ever read this, but here we go. I had this game as well back as a kid and beat it after many, many hours. And those little things were the biggest danger you had to look out for in the entire game as Godzilla, they didn't really bother Mothra that much. The key to beating them was to make sure you held Godzilla's breath attack back for when they appeared, and you had to time it right that when you activated it, the entire time the breath animation played out the thing was soaking up the damage from it. There was always enough damage done in that case to be able to kill the little bastard before it would be able to make contact with you and get you caught in that damage-loop that finished you off.
This brings me back.. I remember playing this game when I was a kid
