Not time to clean up truck bin until the flapper door wont shut and tools are falling out. Always nice to hear the soft spoken expert technician at work there in the Palmetto state. 😎
Hey Ted, using that 5 amp fuse and a little tape to jumper those red wires from the blower switch. That will prevent having to replace the connectors when replacing the board.
no, don't do that. because those are automotive ATC blade type fuses rated 36 volts(by memory) and the red wires are the line voltage and current to the blower motor, probably 240V on that unit, also it may run around 5 amps. now that would work great if it needed 24v wiring jumped together. 🙂
hey ted as a technician my self i gotta recommend you get a little giant ladder on your truck asap the are step ladders that can convert into full extension ladders you use the step ladder mode to open the scuttle hole and then you switch it to extension ladder mode and put it in the hole almost like attic steps i refused jumping off stepladders and pulling my self into a scuttle hole long time ago the little giant lets you safely just climb on up
👍I’d be called out late at night on a walk in cooler or freezer finding condenser fan motor locked & none on van. Water hose is your best friend spraying condenser in effort to save product until return in morning w/ parts. Good stuff sir Ted. 👍🇺🇸
Theodore you complain more than my ex-wife😂😂. That pipe looks like the air vent for the plumbing and at least there is some wood for you to access the unit. Most of the attic units I’ve come across here in Ontario don’t have plywood to walk on, your lucky if there is a plank in place to walk across.👍🇨🇦
Needs a Veto Bag for the Jimmy Wigglers, JK! I agree on the pump, even if it was an add on, if you can run a line set you can run a drain line. That hose sits in those hot attic and get soft and usually hung with staples and the hose sags and then is restricted. I mean you can't get more down hill flow then from an attic! Good ole TRANE TDL. 90-340 will fix that every time..
I used to have giveaways of those Vetos and other stuff… I need to bring the giveaways back…. They were kinda fun !! czcams.com/users/liveESSy-_cv39c?feature=share
Interesting. I may need to watch this one again; seemed enough wrong in different places that it was a little hard to follow. Hopefully the refrigerant leak turns out to be easy to find, and feasible to fix. Was Jimmy Wiggler missing because you ran over his brother? Hopefully he comes out of your tire easily enough.
Long time on site, I hate multiple repairs at the same job site. What did they do, wait until enough was broken before paying for a tech to come out? I’m no fan of hoping off a 6’ to get in and out of an attic either. Then to find a big object jammed in a tire, you had a rough day. Time for an adult beverage at home.
Oh!! My brother I'm 62 years old and getting into those attics are killing me in AZ politicians have destroyed my 401K savings I just want to retire but I can't so I continue climbing into attics to fix problems
G'day Ted - long drawn-out trouble shooting exercise on this one - for it to be a low pressure switch - no drawing to use ?? HVAC wiring always reminds me of a teenage boys effort to wire something up - I'm sure you'll take the $'s for the time spent there. Cheers.
Too old to fix ? That unit is a spring chicken...you should look at the dinosaur in my attic :P As the saying goes "They don't build them like they use to"...
Condensate pumps in attics are commonplace in my area i never understood why you always complain about it, though you complain about almost everything.
Just seems to me if you’re in an attic you already have a lot of rise or a lot of fall on the drain line whichever way you want to look at it. Gravity drain is very easy to achieve when you’re 10 or more feet off the ground?

After a long busy weekend, it's always great to watch a Anti DIY video on Sunday Night. 🙂
Your a hard working man Ted. Its a honor to watch your videos. Real life as it gets. Thank you.
As a low pressure chiller tech I get flashbacks seeing people climbing through the attic. I don't miss those days at all

So enjoy watching a true craftsman!!!!
Amazing what you pick up in tires. At least you found it and know what you need to do in the morning.
Good vid and good luck on your tire plug ...Thx ...
The magnet in the pocked trick is by far the COOLEST thing i think i have ever seen you do Ted
Mad love🇦🇺
(edit) P.s gesundheit
You need a king combo ladder for sure . I love mine for that reason.
Great job Ted
Great video.
The old 9 in one screwdriver. When in doubt short it out. If it runs you are having fun . If the lights go out..... the party is over!!
I’ve fixed a few bolts in the tires like that with those cheap tire repair kits from harbor freight.
Bless you Ted
Like my granddaughters would say " got a bat in that cave" lmao
I could hear that tap tap tap clear up here in Iowa.
24Y/O TRANE AH? LEAKING COILS = NEW A/H AND CLEAN COND COILS GOOD JOB

What's a jimmy wiggler and why would it be better than a wire nut?
Jimmy wigglers. Been a while since I’ve heard that.
Oh!! My brother I'm 62 years old and getting into those attics are killing me in AZ politicians have destroyed my 401K savings I just want to retire but I can't so I continue climbing into attics to fix problems
58 here
I feel you bro
LOL. What's a jimmy wiggler?
As Steve Lav says, it Needs a New Mota.

Those condensers could use a Big Ass Fan Company shop fan pointed at them from the yard !
Looks to Me water would run out of an Attic without a pump, but I am not an expert.
When it rains, it pours 😢. Everyone had a bad day unfortunately…
Theres a lot of airflow in the attic you can see it on the video and then when you sneezed you know theres air leaks from the ductwork. Oh shit !
Sounded like you where driving on cobblestone
Best place for an air handler is in the house's attic.
With all 3 of them running at the same time thats a lot of heat in the corner.
Why did I know this was going to be a replacement recommended video. 2011 unit with a leak? REALLY?
I understand---I'm 6-1 and 250!!!
Why not just install some horizontal discharge units when the time comes, rather than moving the units into the open?
That's a crappy way to end a long day. Sorry it happened to you.
Condenser coils are filthy.
Common sense would say that water would go down without a pump.
I can't wait until my circa 1990 HVAC system fails so I can buy a high efficiency system that will last 10-15 years.
Just an FYI. I'd be glad to take that 340 crank off your hands and any other 340 parts you have laying around 😂
Flash light
No helicopter

The stupid pipe is cramping our style …
Contactor
Thought you were going to find some Confederate money in that envelope.....huh...?
People to lazy to run a pipe correctly so they pump it
Condensate pumps in attics are commonplace in my area i never understood why you always complain about it, though you complain about almost everything.
I should mention attic installs are not common in my area. I live in tornado alley most houses have basements and the furnaces are usually there
