It reflects well on her character that she wanted to be nice to a old person.
Blooming do-gooder 😂
@@simononeill2374 Imagine looking negatively at kindness.
@@RNS_Aureliusor maybe Simon's just joking, perhaps...
@@brendanm6921 Undoubtedly
Shouldn't it be taken for granted that someone wants to be nice to an older person?
"And just to sum up... who are you?"
I really hope that's how it went.
After watching this the first time, I went on a hunt and tracked down the end of the interview she's talking about, at the point where the cameras have joined her conversation. I don't remember all the particulars, but it looked to me like Spielberg had by that point picked up on the possibility that she maybe didn't know who he was, and so he casually and very gently slips in some extra information to get her on the right scent. I'm often mistaken for my married sister, and have thus frequently found myself in the middle of conversations with someone who thought I was someone else, so I recognise the signs of trying to help the other person figure it out without letting on that YOU've picked up on their social gaffe! What a great story from Angela Scanlon!
Could you give me the link
@@jtsingha6737or you could just search for "Angela Scanlon Steven Spielberg BAFTAs".
Can you please share the link.
I wish they had gone further to tell of when/how she found out it was actually him.
What i love about the format of this show is theres so many stories told, so you can listen to the same story multiple times over a period of time and you never remember if its a lie or not, so theres immense replayability and the suspense never really goes away
Except Bob, everybody remembers those because they're mad
This is such a good clip!
I don't think it's weird that she didn't recognise him. Film directors aren't famous for their faces.
Yeah, I am trying to picture Steven Spielberg's face and struggling.
Steven Spielberg is
It's still odd that someone working on the red carpet of a film industry awards show doesn't seem to have watched many of them. Or ever even read press about the industry? I'm not particularly interested in movies myself, and I still know what Spielberg looks like.
@@Matt-cz6tiCorrect. He's one of the most recognized Hollywood personalities alive. Which is why this story is...incredible.
@@mathesonkamin6067 As a director he is automatically less recognisable than every single actor in one of his films. His name is famous. His face is not.
This is actually utterly nice, lovely and humane❣️☺️
It did sound pretty true the whole way through, I was surprised they thought it was a lie.
She trips over his name at the beginning, as if she's inventing the choice on the spot. Well played.
People often look different in real life.
This is one of those stories where it’s obviously true but we enjoy them anyway.
Well she won the point
I've watched this several times now and just noticed Gabby Logan's top or dress. It looks like the sleeves were ripped of and the neck has all kinds of threads coming off it. Could they have cut this out of a pattern just before the show?
This story reminds me of the Adrian Peterson interview at the grocery store
Does she remind anyone else very strongly of Emily Blunt?
A bit, but cuter.
I think this was episode 1
I reckon Spielberg without his glasses would be quite different. I know his face doesn't change and all, but he is famously bespectacled. That might have thrown her off a bit.
But she said he WAS wearing glasses.
@@Mark-wd5zb I think she is mis remembering. She didn't say yes he was,she said probably yeah. It's so hard to imagine him without specs..
Are we talking about Steven Spielberg or Clark Kent here?
Joke aside, I agree with you about the glasses.
@@Trucmuch to be fair, I once met Henry Cavill in the middle of London wearing a hoodie and no one seems to recognize him apart from me and my friends walkig beside him.
It's not as easy to recognize faces of actors you only see on yhe other side of the screen irl.
Thought he was someone from Microsoft or Apple
I've no idea who she is but she very pretty.
I had a shop in France for a while. One market day, a couple came in. The chap looked familiar. It was Summer. He was smartly dressed in a pale linen suit. His wife asked if she could order something and gave me her details. It was only at that point i realised I had ben talking with Windsor Davies!
Had a feeling she was telling the truth since she seemed to be trying very hard to come across like she was struggling to answer the questions.
Not st claudias winklemans level of pretending though😅
Tbh i though she was very good at keeping a balance, came off very believable
@@joedwyer3297 Oh Claudia’s amazing at it haha. Ah I could see through Angela tbh!
2:03 Lmao she is completely into Lee mack here 🤣🤣
Fiilem!!!
She keeps looking to her top left and so I will say she's saying the truth.... Edit: phew the eye theory still works.
your left or hers?
@@sjoormen1"...to her top left"
Body language works except for everytime it doesn't but those don't count
Yeah, this is not true for me.
Young and unprofessional, Sure. But she is beautiful.
Rep Irish people should work for RTL. How many Brits do you see on RTL FFS
Bloody Gaby Logan- ‘but you didn’t have a camera or a microphone so why would they think that?’ Alright blimey it’s just a casual panel show, chill out
2:21 oh no, Lee!!!! 😭 Why did he go full Geordie? She's Irish! 🤯
Of course there would have to be the derogatory mimic of the Irish accent. So stereotypical and so not funny.
Lighten up Michael. I'm Irish and thought it was the funniest bit of the clip ... and so did she.
You see an offense where everyone else sees one of the most endearing moments in all of WILTY.
@WILTY_TV *Accidentally!!
Mistakenly.
