Why didn't you use an original Blue Honda S2000 Oil filter?

You should only use Honda MTF for the gearbox and if you drive the car hard i'd definitely recommend doing it every other year. Don't forget the cabin filter.

I'd second that. Honda transmissions (MT, AT or CVT) hate other oils. Experienced it firsthand on my manual Honda Civic after changing with generic brand. Replaced it with Honda MTF after two weeks.

Yes, was nice to get it all done. Didn't take too long either.

Nice work! Servicing at a workshop can be so ridiculously expensive. Almost 1000 pounds in difference, if I heard the price correctly. For that money I can buy the tools I need, and even though I am slow and inexperienced, I could finish the work faster than It would take me to make that amount of money at my job.

If it’s helpful to you, please know that you can prop the hood (bonnet:) into the near vertical. Remove the prop rod from the grommet at the pivot end, insert the pivot end of the rod into the hole in the side of the engine bay forward of the battery, insert the prop end in the receiver on the hood. Cheers

You need to torque the filter to spec. I know it sounds rubbish, but the engine resonates at a frequency that can loosen the filter. I’ve been there, and had a small engine bay fire to prove it!

Worth fitting an oil filter stopper. I have one on mine.

I personally thought those spark plugs looked ok, not sooty, just the perfect colour. As you did not know how old they were probably safe to change. Good job though.

Nice work. The only thing I probably would've done differently is to use genuine Honda coolant. Something about draining the blue stuff and refilling with the red doesn't sit right with my OCD. I recently did the same on a family members Accord of a similar vintage and the genuine coolant was about the same price as Comma, if not cheaper.

Nice...I actually wanted a S2000 but couldn't afford a nice one..and got a 987 Boxster instead (which you have as well)...my wife and kid didn't understand what I said though "oh..I decided to get a Porsche because this Honda was too expensive" 🙂 See you soon on BOXA

The service manuals for quite a few cars specify that you do not apply anything to the spark plug threads.

Always a great watch, service with a smile on this one, unlike a main dealership.

Really enjoying the work you are doing on the Honda. A dry ice clean on the chassis/ underside would be great.👍

I have a cheap ebay socket set with 23mm socket, cost me £24. Mazda mx5 ND use 23mm also.

I haven’t watched your videos in a while (basically since the last Porsche video) and I must say your editing style has definitely improved. The only nitpick I have is that you didn’t show the cleaning of all the spilled oil on the transmission and differential, which is a bit unsatisfying.

Do not ever put grease or anything on spark plug threads!

Are You sure this trans can handle GL-5 oil? Gl-5 oil corrodes synchronizers, most transmissions take GL-4 oil.

Is the gl-5 definitely correct as I was lead to believe it was corrosive and gl-4 was not ?

Ngk spark plugs are already lubricated so you shouldn't add anything else.
