    A note from Germany: In german language Degen is used for : Olympic epee, duelling epee, rapier, spadroon, smallsword, to dome degree also Pallasch. In older books, both serious education and entertaining novels the term ,Haudegen' ( hewing Degen) or Raufdegen ( brawl Degen) appeares, so i assume , those german style rapiers with wider blades are meant. But attention! In current german language the word Haudegen is used for a battlehardened fighter, or a person, who does his job for a long time and has a lot of knowledge and ecpierience. And in medieval german a Degen was a thegn.

    This is my first sword, so I can't do a comparison or anything, but I absolutely love it. Total love at first swing situation, it's a real joy to use.

    I have the LK Chen Saxony Rapier and I would be very interested in seeing a video comparison. Similar price point, lots of surface similarities with the Munich Town guard, but also a different sword in so far as pictures can tell. So, please do.

    Lin Creative uses hatfield steel on some of its blades.

    Do you have the cup hilt rapier from LK Chen? I haven't seen any reviews on that one. My primary question is the size of the cup. In LK Chen's demonstrations, the cup looked small.

    My guy. I just looked this up because I ordered this sword. What I have found that while maganese steel is very tough... they say it's HIGHLY susceptible to corrosion and not to be used in the kitchen or marine environments. You might want to amend that!
    Edit. Ok. So 3 of 5 sources say it's highly corrosion prone....but then I find like 2 sources that say it isn't. So I guess time will tell us lol

      @kultofathena6217 it's actually been pretty good. Mind you I didn't leave it in a bucket of water or anything lol, but no rust to speak of yet.

    I would love to see a comparison between this sword and the Arms and Armor Munich Town Guard Sword. The latter (which I own) has a price point 3X higher, so I'm curious what makes up that price difference.

    Nice run through but it isn't really a "review" when being done by a company selling them.

    Can you use this sword left handed?

    • @finalbossd
      @finalbossd Před 5 měsíci

      I’m a lefty and I plan to get it. The guard isn’t symmetrical, but it doesn’t looks like it will interfere with left handed use.

      @LangstonDev Před 6 měsíci +3

      Why? It's a guard, it doesn't need to do much...

      Because it's designed to withstand use with minimal maintenance.
