- 2/9/2021: Gyasi disagrees with L'Hoestmeerkat Moto, although it also looks like a game. In any case, she thinks it's safer if Kiango stays close to her. But Kiango just wants to look at his food at Moto and that makes for a super cute moment.

Gyasi (born 29/4/2002, died 13/7/2022. Mother of Tayari (now in Taipei Zoo) and Kiango.
Kiango (born 21/2/2021). Son of Bao Bao & Gyasi.
L'Hoestmeerkatten: male Moto, female Mojo.
Tay is very much like her mother so sweet and smart ❤️
Gyasi was such a naughty girl. Tayari and Jabali are the same. Naughty, but loving as well.
Tayari looks so much like her and so does Jabali.
Kiango looks the picture of daddy BaoBao.
Nemsi is a very surrugate mother to Kiango and he loves her.
We miss Gyasi so much.

These are always fun videos but I especially appreciate the narration explaining the ranking backstory. This adds a layer of nuance to this encounter that I wouldn't have fully appreciated without it.

I have been watching gorillas for years-the 3 zoo's in japan ,and know all their families, including the daughters Iriki and Tayari and their children at the Taipei zoo with D'Jeeco. This is my second favorite compared to the D'Jeeco family except that this one has the monterbey monkeys as well, so maybe it is my favorite. Glad Nemsi is taking caring of Kiango. Gorillas are such special creatures, like elephants. Loved the video where the monkey jumped on kiango's back, after mom put Kiango on her back, hilarious. Thanks for the video's, they always make me smile.
Yes we do get around. My fave is D'jeeco troop, particularly Ringo who has the most soulful eyes. I'm sure we will run into each other again, happy gorilla watching.🦍

Gyasi got a bacterial infection that caused her death. The zoo vets could not help her.
So how is the baby, who took over as the parent ?

Hoi Theresa, Nou zeg ik heb wel weer lang gewacht met het antwoord op de reactie. Heb het al lang gelezen! En ja ik wist het al, toevallig gezien in de app van Beekse Bergen. Want ik had allang plannen om te gaan. Helaas kwam het door allerlei omstandigheden er niet van. Ik hoop van het weekend het nieuwe kleine kuifje te gaan zien. Een jochie deze keer, super leuk!
