Actually, the cutter sits _inside_ the box
As I see it... Chaos is correct - the thinking AND the cutter are outside the box. Combination wrench... box on the pivot, open end as the receiver for the tip of the plasma cutter. Or am I in error with my observation? Best wishes! 🤔🧐🔍

It is amazing that you only have 305K subs. This has to be one of the best channels on the youtubes.
While using a wrench for a guide is quick and easy... smart idea... it isn't going to get you where you need to go if you want accuracy with a specific size. For a reasonable "quickie" radius or circle cutter, you can combine some string, twine, fishing line, etc-etc-etc with a washer that the tip of the plasma cutter fits into with a nail or screw as the pivot point. A thin gauge cable is also good as they have minimal stretch even over a long distance - I know of some home construction guys that used a cable in the past to accurately lay out the large, shallow arcs for a foundation and the walls for custom homes as an example. Anyway, adjusting the line for a specific length is fast & easy but be forewarned, make sure you use a line that won't stretch or break. Yes, a strong magnet for a base pivot point can work well on ferrous based metal.
Now, if we're going to get serious for shop use, I would encourage everyone to make their own trammel setup to hold a plasma cutting tip, a drill head, a grinding head, a router or any other tool you may use on a radius or circle. An adjustable trammel is unequaled for accurate, professional benchwork. Allow me to encourage everyone who spends time in the shop to build their own which meets their needs. They make a great project and you'll be happy you manufactured one for yourself when you use it. The only problem most folks have is how far to go with their design... you can spend a lot of time making a super high end, multi-functional trammel. Don't ask me how I know that. Best wishes! 🤔😁👍🏻

Great tip👍🏻 thanks for sharing! I've done similar with paint stir sticks for marking holes. Never occurred to me to do the same with some steel strap as a torch guide, let alone wrenches.

Hey Moe, whenever I see your plasma cutting videos. The first two words to pop up in my head are always the same. Bank safe. The funny thing is I don't ever remember seeing plasma cutters around when I was a lot younger. They seem like such a handy tool.

That's the main thing I do is my sockets.
Etch the sizes on them... laser or acid etching in large lettering. Dye the etching afterwards. You'll be happy you did. Best wishes! 🔟🖌️👍🏻

Probably work even better if you were to put a nut in the wrench for less back and forth movement. Wouldn't take away from the quick setup ability you demonstrated here. Great idea!

What a great idea, however it wouldn't work to well with pilot ark with a stand off..unless you could build up a old wrench to allow the stand off to rest on the wrench...

@@lcee6592 You could put a car battery in a fire and it wouldn't do anything. It's not flammable. In reality it would put out a fire being that it's 70-90% water. If you are overcharging the battery, only at that moment, it will release hydrogen gas.

Whoa man... NOT TRUE. It's well documented that a sealed type lead acid automotive battery can burst due to high heat from a fire and sling or spray the acidic liquid contents all over creation. While this is unlikely to happen outside of an automobile due to an automotive fire or a wreck, it's still possible and yes, that acid spray can do serious damage to your skin and terminate your eyesight. For those who don't believe this to be true, I would urge you to check with firemen and what their training includes when it comes to batteries, car or otherwise. I'm sure the crew at UL will be able to provide some valuable info in this area too. My past fire safety training included more than enough video footage for me to be sold 100% on being diligent with battery storage, safe handling & use. You're correct that outgassing from an idle battery is generally considered to be zero but there's no reason to get sloppy or engage in bad habits. The old school methodology is to store batteries in a 100% safe location all the time when not in use. While I seriously doubt you're ever going to have a problem, the smart play is to engage in good habits to ensure that you never do have a problem. Peace & good vibes to all! ✌🏻🔋🔥

If you're running a cheap Chinese plasma cutter the tips are made of cheap metal and there's little you can do to make them last. The basic ideas for longer lasting tips is: dry air and don't let the tip touch the material you're cutting.

How about just a magnet with a screw inserted in it as the pivot point of the closed-end wrench? It could still work even when working to plasma cut thin material that is not magnetically capable just by putting a piece under the product being cut that the magnet could "grab" onto. The reason I say this is because so frequently, I don't want a hole in something after the circle is cut out.
Back to not being serious...Give Ginger more to eat than tree limbs, will you? 🤣
