- This is the reupload for the finale room of Disneyland's "it's a small world" through the years. I added the great 1970 sound footage, as well as more rare (silent) footage from 1977, two years before the original colors would be changed to the darker hues. I also changed the original soundtrack to the historically accurate version with the adult chorus, which I now know is what they used in the early years thanks to the 1970 sound film, since before that 1970 sound film was uploaded I didn't know what soundtrack was used in the first 10 or so years the ride was open at Disneyland. Otherwise the video is pretty much the same as before, so I hope you enjoy, and original video link and description below:

This is the finale room of Disneylands "it's a small world" through the years. As always, there are many images and silent films from the 60's, 70's, and early 80's showing the finale room in it's early years, as well as several video clips from the mid-80's to the present showing the room in it's entirety. This is one of if not my favorite room in the attraction, it's just so beautiful seeing all of the worlds children together, with all boundaries removed, enjoying common bonds shared by people everywhere. There are all variations of the soundtrack in this video, as well as all variations of the colors in the room. There are the original pastel hues from the 60's and 70's, the darker hues from the 80's, 90's, and 2000's, and the restored original colors from 2008 to the present. You can also see the original and current sun, a major prop that was removed for some reason in c.1990 but restored at the same time as the original colors, in 2008. This is my third to last Disneyland "it's a small world" through the years video, as I will have "Spirit of America" (not part of original plans) coming tonight and goodbye room coming tomorrow. However, I do already have plans for Walt Disney World "it's a small world" through the years, though that won't be for about another week from now, and I may also make other Disneyland attractions through the years, such as the Haunted Mansion. I hope you enjoy this video.

The movement of the older ones look more interesting and realistic
Agreed
@@benjaminroberson1924 like how they sway back and fourth now then before the before one I mean they move the way maybe some people would do
Omg same I miss the old movments
It’s actually kinda interesting how the newer movements are more stiff and not as lifelike as the old ones
Yes, I always found that interesting as well
It's a small world after all!
This is my absolute favorite room in all of it's a small world this goes for all 5 versions and the worlds fair version too and i'm glad to be able to see its evolution 😁
It's actually my favorite room in every version as well. Perfect conclusion that wraps up the message of the ride in what I consider to be the best Finale at Disneyland. Glad you enjoyed this!
@@benjaminroberson1924 Definitely agree with this
My favorite part is that ride.
Now that I look closer at the finale room in 1977. The colors are still the exact same as they were in 1966. Which I guess means that the colors weren't changed until maybe late 1977 or 1978
Actually, the colors and paint on the Finale set pieces were changed in late 1978-early 1979. I can tell by looking closely at the 1978 clip, although the lighting was already more like the 1980's version.
@@benjaminroberson1924yeah that’s what I was figuring
Cool :D
Awesome:D
From 1960s and 1970s they are different when I wasn’t born
But the it’s a small world ride is different from 2009 and now I was born
I noticed that the Thailand singers were removed in 1986.
RIP
8:29 What English vocals were used to achieve this? Because it certainly sounds nothing like the standalone English vocals used in the america scenes at DLP. Not to mention it actually sounds similar to the original chorus.
These English vocals are the Debney Heavenly chorus. This boys choir recorded the full Finale vocals for Disneyland's 1993-2002 version, and the last two verses were also used in Paris from 1992-2015. They are different from the Paris American vocals which were actually temporarily used in the DL CA Welcome/Finale in June 1993. And unlike the Paris American vocals, the isolated vocals haven't been released in higher quality, though the audio has been released.
Nice
on 2010 they added moon and sun
Actually it was 2008 when the sun was restored. It was missing since 1990. The moon has been there since 1964.
How long did the John debney score last?
May 1993-October 2002
Why were the thai singers removed? Anyone know the explain to which it got replaced which the chinese singing acrobats?
I honestly don't know, besides that China wasn't really represented in the ride before the mid 1980's, also the earliest evidence I've found of the acrobats. However, interestingly it seems the acrobats were added first (1985 or earlier) followed by the full China scene around 1986. Albeit very dark by today's standards, there is one 1985 video that proves this. czcams.com/video/LtzGSwiMV-g/video.html
Why was the adult chorus cut after 1976?
I'm really not sure myself, I definitely prefer the adult chorus although I love every version
@@benjaminroberson1924 Personally I'm all for original stuff, but I do have a soft spot for the Debney version of the song as well.
@@SalemLD I love the Debney version as well. I definitely think they could have done a better job implementing it at Disneyland which is one reason I prefer the original. I definitely wish that Disneyland would always have the original soundtrack (except for the Holiday overlay), but I still really love the Debney soundtrack as well. I really love how it includes the "just one moon" verse more often, as well as the additional languages at Paris version.
The lighting was bad before the 2009 refurbishment
In a weird way I kinda like it. Has kind of a chill, night time vibe
