Matthias is a wonderful extemporaneous speaker. He speaks so clearly and his answers are succinct. There is no hesitation and his explanations are so vivid. I believe him to be a genius and his acting ability is 2nd to none. He's amazing. It doesn't matter that he was dismissed from acting school, he probably just wasn't ready. He was at the age of discovery and perhaps had his mind on sports or some other facet of his life. He went to drama school at the right time for him. There's no one as good as he is today.
He is a natural talent. Saw Rust & Bone yesterday and just floored. Reminds me of European movies that just don't get into the American mainstream anymore. Language issues, etc.
Matthias talks about great actors he admires. He's very gracious.
Rust and Bone was a great movie and a stepping stone for many other movies yet to come. My 2 other favorites was A Little Chaos and Far from the Madding Crowd. He's so humble and I see all his movies.
Very charming man !
It's interesting to watch his escalation from one great role to another. It's cathartic for him to take us through his experiences for the part. Nudity is very much a part of the story. It leads to an evolution of the love between Matthias and Marion. It's sutle and yet tender and loving. His character develops throughout the film. His sister is domineering with her husband, she believes she can treat Ali as a child.
The nudity surprised me a little. But in Europe people aren't so concerned about nudity and it is more natural and they don't flinch from it. Even the sex scenes are more detailed than we are used to.
He has stated his goal is to reflect Daniel Day Lewis as an actor, and Alain Delon as a style example .... well played, sir, impeccable talent, style, languages, and looks....touche!! 💗💕
Matthias is way too bohemian to be like Delon. Delon's style wasn't as colorful and whimsical as Matthias's.
@@501archer but Delon was a big deal in Europe and Schoenaerts is European.
Matthias is very informative especially when he alone is being interviewed.
Great Interview. Great style, depth and fun

Hi, my name is Márcia Ribeiro, i'm from Portugal and i'm a big fan of Matthias Schoenaerts. I would to know if already exists an official fan club to Matthias. I think it doesn't, but if you could help me i appreciate.
Muito obrigada pela resposta! Já aderi aos dois!
He talks about Blood Ties. OMG. He plays a scuzzy bad guy. And it is a 70s period piece. The look is awful. Love Clive Owen but not in this.
Mein Gott !!!! Nun, wie kann man so unglaublich attraktiv sein 💦💦💦
