I’ve always loved bobbers, I’m hopefully getting my first motorcycle soon and I’m super excited. Wish me luck everybody!!
Did you get it yet? I'm personally looking to get a Honda Rebel 250 and modify it to a bobber 😂
@@rickduarte4482 yes I did! It’s such a smooth ride. Definitely in love lol
@@TCKIDD Nice!
Don’t get hit by a truck
Good luck my friend keeps your rubber on the ground and get you a good luck charm to hang somewhere on your bike and enjoy the freedom
The problem with having no rear fender at all is that when you drive through a puddle or if it's raining, the rooster tail that the rear tire created will soak your back. You don't need an entire fend, but just enough of one to block those rooster tails in the area that would deflect water from your backside.
It may be the only time some people wash their riding gear. I know a few guys who have never cleaned their leathers....and you can smell them.
@@SilverShadow2LWB
What's up Blockhead you taught me how to ride a motorcycle thanks for the lessons
That’s awesome man, glad the vids helped you out! 🤘🏼
@@BlockheadMoto your video was the only one that I could understand.. it taught me well, great job.. thank you teacher!
Yo same!!
@@Honoredmatres69 he made it so simple, easy to understand.
Same here really helpful
i truly believe that anyone who has that itch
and love for riding a motorcycle,
whether bobber, cruiser, bagger, chopper etc
if its a comfortable or uncomfortable ride
those kinds of people will always ride, others will just complain.
i had a bobber once, and the previous owner had a seat like you mentioned, no springs!
went over a deep pot hole and my kidneys felt like mike tyson took a left hook to my ribs haha..
Hey Blockhead , i wanna thank you for your videos they help me alot getting thru my day with ptsd from when I was in the Navy , the videos help me fet outta my head even if for length of videos , i can never thank you enough , I've always dreamed of having a bike but it is a dreamed unrealized because oof funds from being on disability... but watching you and your crew ride around is awesome thank you again ... Bill
This bike was one of the many things on your channel that made me determined to learn how to ride. Now I own a '12 Nightster and I can rewatch your videos for actual tips and tricks to make it the way I want. Thanks for this!
Don’t care what everyone else has to say, it’s your bike, your style. What matters is what you want on YOUR bike! That’s what you build her for… your expression! Loved it and hope you enjoy your builds for a loooooooong time brother!
🙏 you said it brother, love this!
Agree with u pablo
Great video blockhead! The sound of that exhaust is 🔥🔥!! Hope all is well in Florida. Be safe!
just purchased a honda shadow that was bobbered out a few weeks ago, and remembered you doing this build. i got no mirrors, no turn signals, no guages (no not even speedometer), no front/rear fender, nothing. absolutely love it. probably gonna throw mirrors for safety purposes. absolutely love this build
That exhaust looks really cool and sounds amazing
Definition of Bobber (satire): 1. One that bobs (floats) 2. A person who rides or races on a bobsled 3. A motorcycle removed of all perceived unnecessary items with the intent of being "Cool, Hip, Rad, or Bad Ass" 4. A motorcycle no one wants to ride more than 30-45 min but wants to stare at and be stared at.
4 is the right answer although I would never ride one nor buy one !
In all fairness, I built a 2001 Honda Shadow 750 bobber, with 12" apes, solo seat and suspension as low as I could get it, and I went on a 182 mile charity ride, on that bike. Better yet, I was riding next to some guy who had a hard tailed shovelhead bobber, and he never did stop or complain once.
Lol
Definition of your definition... partially wrong and out of place. You just defined your own attitude. Ride safe.
@@ajgeorgoulis might have missed the word (satire) Definition: Joke....
Very clean build. I also don’t have a rear fender on my bobber and I love the way it looks.
I LOVE THESE STYLE OF BIKES MAN!! DREAMIN' 🤘
Dunno man. That rear fender missing is “nuts”. I know we are already at risk riding a bike but installing a testicle grinder on the back seems over the top for this rider. Looks cool, but nope.
Completely removing it sounds like a bad idea, I'm likely just going to go with a nice looking shortened fender on mine
The fender delete is for die hard bikers who would rather have bikes over kids.
Will Jackson LOL man exactly!
@comoto
Im just talking from personal preference. Hahaha. Still got both mine hanging though.
@@jingles9657 A ducktail would´ve fit perfect
I bought one, it came with just the seat straight in the pan. I actually rode it around like that for a couple seasons. Just this last summer though I finally installed a springer seat. Shadow 750 spirit with apes and straights
I love the sound of that bike!! 😍😍😍
Brilliant. Answered all that I was wondering. Great bike too.
Literally have to stop and look at this bike every time it pops up! Beautiful!!!
I love my bobber. I built it during the winter last year and it's so much fun and everyone loves to ask me questions about it (especially about my suicide shifter). But it's going to get a change up this winter color wise
A+ for your audio! Better than most youtubers and you’re out their in the bike. Great job.
Awesome bike. I made my 1980 KZ750 into a ridged frame bobber. I love the looks of striped down no nonsense bobbers, I have the same seat on my bike and yes it's comfortable Keep making the great videos.
Nice video man. I especially enjoy when you work on the Sportsters. Hope the winner enjoys that bike!
That's a nice looking bike! I haven't even got a licence but I'm becoming mildly obsessed with motorbikes, I'm nearly 40 for Christ sake is this the mid life crisis.
It's called mid life appreciation mate, you see something that looks cool and you want it. I'm nearly 50 and I've just built a bobber since being out of bikes for nearly 10 years and it makes me very happy. Do it
Never too late man. Might be a midlife crisis, or if your anything like me, might become an irremovable part of your life. Go find out!
Why give it a name who cares whatever crisis, bikes are cool get one asap.
Coming from a young guy I say go for it big bro!🤙🤘
Still cheaper than most any mistress!!
saw this video a ways back and knew i wanted something similar, but have always wanted a motorcycle. bought a '11 48 1200 and have done some things to it that made me think of this video today. and i think that it has almost come full circle. i appreciate these videos.
I love the look of a bobber. I thought about bobbing out my Roadster once, but I enjoy throwing it into corners to much lol. Definitely want to build a bobber soon. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Got my first bike this week. Bobber style jus like this. I thought i would be worried about the no rear fender thing but na. My seat has a little more angle to it than his so when i sit in it i feel like im in the cockpit. I dont regret it and it looks cool as shit
I think I’m in love with that bike. Wow. What a beauty.
Ty 4 the POV. Clutch!
Looks like a blast to ride
Personally I think a suspension coupled with a Springer seat sounds awesome. Thinking of bobbing my bike but planned on leaving the suspension and swapping seat. I'm leaving my front fender on as well but taking about an inch off each end of the fender for a more aggressive style
Sounds like a good idea. I really have no idea why people take off their suspension and convert to more like a high powered mini-bike.
Thanks for all the wonder full vlog bud. Cause of these , I have decided to get back in to motor riding! PS your contest does it extends to Canadians? Keep up the amazing vlogs.
I enjoy your vids keep up the great work
Never been awake for a new video release lol bad ass bike man you did an awesome job
seth newman Thanks man 👊🏼
I love this. You should do vids on every style of bike! I’d love to hear your opinion and definitions
Dark Lord Ryan - Got a list of em ready to go! 😁
@@BlockheadMoto doooope!!
This is the bike that inspired me to buy, chop and build my own Sportster. Thanks Blockhead!
cool vid man, nice build, not a fan of bobbers but I like this one. I really appreciated the comments about seat comfort as I always wondered about that!
Great video. I’ve been looking at bobbers for a while. Honest opinion is appropriated
Nice looking giveaway bike that’ll put a smile on someone’s face or a sore butt lol cool Vid bro
I turned my first bike (2020 883) into a bobber and you are so right about holding one because you feel like your going to slide off the seat lol 😅 Love your videos dude! You taught me how to my first motorcycle.
Giving up certain safety features, and comforts, for a certain "look" , is basically what motorcycling is all about. Ther are some gorgeous, sweet looking bikes out there, that I would never ride, or own. Love to look at them.
Dunno what it is but I've always loved the bobber, or vintage seats and stripped down looks. Absolutely gorgeous build brother, thank you for makin this vid.
Looks wise, bobbers are awesome. That no rear fender thing scares the stuff out of me though. I would have to have something between my butt, and the rear wheel other than the seat.
Not having a rear fender makes me think of a wood chipper except if anything happened that tire would be grinding your ass while it's trying to pull you forward. Not safe.
BTDT_Chino - Naaaah it’s not that bad, just hold onto the bars tight enough and you’re good 😂
@@BlockheadMoto I know that I can make it not happen, but my brain will be constantly making me think of it happening.
Jerry Hayden your comment had me laughing so much I was crying 😂😂 but it true, grinding your ass while pushing forward lol
BTDT_Chino tell Me how your are going to end up with the your ass on the tire???
nice vídeo, man! shout-out from Brazil
"Suhh dude" 😂😂👌
sweet channel! Just subbed! What are your thoughts on cutting the stock pipes for a bobber?
Cable symmetry matters!
Looked up to see both cables in perfect symmetry
@@californiapoontappa cable are about parallel. They are not symmetrical
People are talking about the bobber im here like:
THAT ROAD AND THE SCENERY IS ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS 👌
Love that exhaust!
love it! real nice bike!
I think some people just want their bikes to be as comfy as there armchair at home. Bike looks awesome to ride!
Dam haven’t gone back to your previous builds this bike is dope Brotha, looks very clean!
Beautiful bobber
Thanks for this vídeo.
Thanks for the info!
The roaring.. soo cool
Love the bobber ... I ride the Indian Scout Bobber - it has rear suspension .... but not "really" - it can be roooough
Dont be like that i ride a vt600 chopper (hardtail) with useless safety pin style springs
I had a XL1200C with Burley slammer shocks with next to no suspension travel had them cranked as low as they would go. It was rough on the kidneys for sure
@@drewthelegend0188 I have a hard tail with those springs too lmao
Looks great.
Hey man, what mic and go pro setup are you using? Seems to be great with wind noise
Wo wo wo.... Fantabulous bike... In like it bro 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽 am in love with your bike ❤❤❤❤
I'm one of those crazy riders that has a seat just sitting on the pan. I'm getting springs this year though.
That's the coolest bike I've ever seen..I live white bikes..I usualy like sport bikes but a wreck ripped my leg off so now I have to get a forward control bike
i really agree to the point of the bike having you for lunch, cause even i did a bobber build and i was scared about the same thing, so i fit a fender
I know this a old video but I just wanted to comment on the stock Sportster 48 suspension.
I have been daily riding a 2019 48 that I has been turned into a bobber. (So far have kept rear suspension)as my only transportation and have ridden just under 10K miles (on shitty Oklahoma roads) in the past 6-8 months and can honestly say that the bike is not very comfortable at all, It definitely isn’t a bike built for riding long distances or on roads that aren’t well maintained. That said I would ride this bike anywhere anytime and have. I have no fenders, basically just a pan for a seat and exhaust that that has destroyed my gas milage causing me to get roughly 60 miles to a tank as long as I’m riding conservatively... but I love it and can’t picture ever parting with it.
The bike in this video is super sick and has been one of my favorite bikes on the internet for a long time.
You talked about the front fender for protection from rocks and such, and the dangers of riding without the rear fender, but what about the ride in general. I have a custom built 88 Sportster bobbed out. It's an 883 converted to 1200 with a Buell XB9 top end, on a Pauchgo rigid frame with 35° of rake. It has no front fender, and a custom ribbed rear fender that covers just past the top of the tire. I've been hit by several rocks and bugs over the years, although always from the vehicles in front of me, where the front fender couldn't protect me anyways. The front fender is good for protection, but I never found it to make the difference others say it does. The best protection it provides is in wet conditions. And that brings me to the rear. I've been caught in the rain several times, and it sucks either way. I have found that visibility is hampered more without my front fender than it is on my other bike that still has the front fender, but the difference is not so much that it deters me from riding. The rear fender however is another story entirely. I have a friend who tried the rear fender delete, but he hated it, and after getting caught in the rain on his bike, I found out why. It was the worst experience I've ever had on a bike, and that's including a major accident that almost killed me. The bike has since been upgraded with custom struts, and a short bobbed fender, and is much better. If you want to rock the fenderless rear, that's up to said owner, but a rear fender delete doesn't make a bike a bobber. The idea of the bobber concept was to strip the bike down of un-needed weight to make the bike lighter, slimmer, and faster. It was modifications to make the bike faster and better performing, and handling. Otherwise, it's more of a style than an absolute. So many people try to put rules on what is and isn't on a bobber. I think it's better stated "bobber style ", considering that there's no absolute rules. The esthetic of the bobber is what most people like.... stripped down, and simplistic. The exact look and type depends on the rider. Personally I hate the fenderless look, but that's just me. For those who like it, that's awesome. We all like different things, and the fact that we can share differences in a particular genre is really cool. Many people say that my bike isn't a bobber at all, while even more people say they love my bobber. I consider it a bobber for sure, considering that's the vision I had building it, but in the end my opinion is the only one that really matters since I'm the one who has to be happy with it. And that sentiment is the same for each and every bike owner. I would encourage everyone to consider all the aspects of your choices when it comes to customization, because we all know that it comes with drawbacks as well as the cool factor we so often go for. Stay safe and enjoy the ride.
Beautiful bike, but I'm quite a traditionalist when it comes to bobbers. To me a true bobber is stripped down and modified to increase its speed and performance. The goal is to remove any unnecessary weight by removing parts that don't contribute to the bike's performance. So those handlebars to me should be short and not sitting so high. But that's me.
"Granted shadetree has one of those big plush"- LOL
My ass gets sore just looking at the bike, but it's still dope! Haha
You did a great job on that bike!!!
bigmike 79 - Thank you!
Love the look blockhead! I’ve got an 85 rebel I picked up a few months ago. I’ve given it my own custom paint job ( army green and black) and I’ve got blown out shocks. I ride it about 30 miles to work and back every so often, and I fuckin love riding man. Your videos got me to bug the hell out of my wife to let me buy one. Thinking about building an adjustable hard tail kit for it. I work at a fab shop so it would honestly only take 15 minutes to make lol.
If your keeping the front finder for comfort then the back shocks plus the seat shocks cause extra soft ride
"The bike will eat you for lunch" lmao
That bike is gorgeous man.
listening to this with headphones, i love the sound of the bike,
You just got yourself a new subscriber!
Love your content my guy! Watched your video on how to ride properly and it helped a lot! Keep up the great work and stay healthy man!
Trevor Wills thanks man 👊🏼
I took the shock out of mine and put support in it. Slammed it down pretty good.
Another thing if you keep the front fender it really helps with the rigidity of of the front forks
Will Johnson true!
Hey you guys do awesome videos and awesome builds keep up the great stuff! Stay vigilant brother!
Thanks man!
Sick bike 🤙
I love the Z bars I think the look is sick
by far my favorite style of motorcycle
😂 he did the own Wilson WOOW
I agree about Sportster suspension being uncomfortable. My ‘16 Sportster 48 rode like a log wagon. I bet the springer seat is much better.
Rob Bradshaw
Would u say a Harley springer soft tail converted bobber style would have a better suspension ?
In regards to the rear suspension in the uk 🇬🇧 I for one kept the rear shocks in mine purely because the roads are terrible over here potholes and speed bumps everywhere
That’s a cool one!
Good Stuff!!!!
Thats a beautiful bike. Never been on one but it looks fun... not sure how it would like chicago street

Wow beautiful bike!
Great bobber... 🤘
Very beautiful bike. Where did get the cover for under the seat rear fender delete? Been looking high and low for it. Thanks.
This bike is sickkkk as we say in England! I’m looking at buying an iron 883 or the 48 and would love to completely take the back fender off just like this bike but this is the kicker, I’m completely new to biking and it’s going to be my first bike, after reading comments some people are saying it’s really dangerous but I do love the look. Not sure what to do now 😂
That is a sick looking bike💯🔥💯🔥💯🔥💯
Would you recommend these bars over mayham bars. I love my mayhams but I'm 6ft4
Beautiful bobber btw🤙
Love the bike, like the bobber style
Ride my 82 xv750 bobber to work 1.5hrs away. Hard tail. Definitely can attest to riding only 45 min max. But love the look and that’s what I wanted. So I’ll suffer ha Hahahah
can you link the exact bars so I can order the correct ones?
Thank you
That is one nice ride wish it was in my garage
My Dutch motorcycle instructor is completely motorcycle crazy, but told me on principle not to greet motorcycle riders who are not wearing proper protective clothing. He wouldn't greet you. And I understand him.
Congrats to the winner. I would have put a rear fender on it, but that's not a difficult addition for the next owner if he or she chooses to do so.
