- How rebuild a typical Shore Station winch tube.
Pretty much same from 2500-6k. As long as it’s the standard “2” cable with snatch block. This method will work.
1-winch cable
2-lift cable.
Yes. I understand I called it “sinch” block. Ah well.
Excellent video just finished fixing mine .. thanks for the effort huge help
Thanks for the feedback! Glad it helped!
Thanks for the video!! Need to do this on my lift.
Hey, no problem. Hope this helps you get through it. Really pretty simple.
Doing the same exact rebuild myself right now. How did the install go when you put it back on the lift?
How do you mean?
It was pretty straight forward.
I used a couple ratchet straps to the top of post(s) to hold it in place and just reinstalled the cross bolts.
Put the lift cables through the cradle.
Threaded on the shoulder nuts.
Then put the winch back together.
@@RonixViva I was just wondering if it went well and was easy. Sounds like it was. I was originally thinking it might be difficult to level the cradle without pulling the whole lift out of the water. I’m assuming your lift stayed in the water during the rebuild and install as well?
Also, thanks for sharing how you tied up the cables. I was wondering how I was going to pull everything through without the proprietary stick tool they use in the ShoreStation video.
@@nateleafoh yeah piece of cake.
Lift is parallel to the dock.
I held the cradle up out of the water by a couple other straps to the top of the posts.
As far as leveling the winch tube, I just put the tube straps in the same location. You can see the witness marks on the leg tubes.
@@nateleafnice! You’re welcome.
Glad someone found this helpful.
Thanks, very helpful, is the cabling of this vid pretty much the same ? czcams.com/video/4ggfIbt1fJo/video.html. 4 total cables, lift cable, winch cable and 2 leveling cables?
100%. Exactly right. Glad you found it helpful.
