  • The Dockman shares tips to prolong your boat lifts life. Greasing your boat lift is a critical preventative maintenance measure done annually, to help you get the most out of your boat lift, and time on the water. You'll need white lithium grease in tube and spray form for the best cable coverage.

Thanks Jerry. Would you recommend this as a twice a year chore; just before it goes in the water and then after it's back up on shore for winter?

I would recommend doing it once a year early spring before the lift is installed. Thank you for watching!

My wheel when lifting doesn't click like yours. Is it because it lifts when I turn counter clock wise and it drops when going clock wise ?

Right should lift left shoulder lower. It sounds like your cable might have back wound. Basically the cable wrapped itself around backwards
