We need a follow-up with Jarre entitled "what's in my diet". The man's 68!
Hey, that's what I'm doing (or "not doing")!
his spending lots of time in electric waves , that kills age...😂
I guess musical genius is the best skincare regimen. We,peasants, could'nt ever achieve their level :-)
lol he looks in his late 40s early 50s
Hell yes. One of the best electronic composers is giving shout out to John Carpenter. Lost Themes series is absolutely amazing.
Didn't John score Halloween? It's my ringtone.
WOW . How is this guy almost 70 years old? That's crazy. I was thinking 50
If there were a Nobel Prize for skincare regimens, I think this 68-year-old could be its first laureate.
lmao
I was expecting an old man... Not a 50yould
Almost 70 ys old? Sweet Jesus! The guy seems to be in his 40s! I'm not a fan, in particular, but I like a few of his stuff. He's a pioneer. And he did good choices. Great!
thats crazy. he looks younger than he did 10 years ago
Platinium french accent ^^
this guy is 68! if you'd told me he was 45 i wouldn't have questioned it.
Yeah! He looks amazing.
Tom Clemens People who love eletronic music never get old... I'm 92 years old and I'm still fine..
Tom Clemens it's his music! His music keeps him young! Jarre forever!
noo fucking way
I'm 108, hair dye and money to buy it,my secrets.
Living Legend!
Jean-Michel Jarre, the incredible composer, performer that he is, could have recorded with any artist he wanted. His choices for his latest album are interesting, to say the least.
Saw Him last Tuesday in Toronto. What a legend!
Omg!! Oxygene is one of my all time faves
Legend
I'm 54 and for a 68-year-old, you look 10 years younger than me! I've got all your albums Jarre and would buy more.
The godfather of music electronic
Man, he looks younger than I expected.
The Boss, as we call him, is a legend, its sad to say that not many younger people know who he is, so maybe we need to educate them, they like electro and dubstep, here is your father kids!
Oh yeah....I'm trying to, for a while, especially on YT... Amongst many, I managed to make my little cousin, years ago already, a big fan of Jean Michel...and it worked out just fine...there 'is' still hope, don't forget!
yea i have some friends converted but i have made new friends from it too, very special friends in the JMJ group, but everyone is so nice, its more of a family
Haaahhhh...good to read this! Thank you... I think Jean Michel breathes so much positive energy, for decades already, there will always be 'those', who'll pick that up and do something with it...that is my firm believe! There are too many weird stories bout Jarre: ladykiller, ex-smoker and so on.............that only makes him more human ;-} For me, whatever colour his socks have or no socks at all...he likes olditmers, robots and other typical stuff, he will be, always, my big example in life...and there are loads more who 'know' him and use his positive attitude towards life!
weird stories will come and go, but he will always be JMJ, the frenchman who played with electronics and made it music, i hope one day, that everyone will respect his place in history, maybe a statue will be made
Cool you mentioned this, bout the statue...I 'requested' or rather 'suggested'' that some years ago on YT, to place a statue of one of the greatest frenchmen ever! And he will live to be 110...so (and I suppose he's much too humble) Jean Michel can enjoy his big bronze 'self'...ofcourse in Paris and...well...let's do another one in his place of birth: Lyon! Why not? Millions and even millions more love this man ;-}
He looks really good for his age. Those sine waves will keep you young.
JMJ is a GOD
It has to be a very pleasant experience for an artist, to hear someone like JMJ speak so enthusiastically about their work.
Woah! Never expected him!
Excited to watch. Bit of a coincidence as I just bought Oxygene yesterday - found it in the clearance bin and it was meant to be! Only got into his music this year (I know, a bit late) and love it. Think Zoology is my favourite so far and his concerts in China LP is really good.
You should never get JMJ's work from clearance bins - read about his "Music for Supermarkets" project from 1983 :)
Got to see him in concert in 2017 and 2018. Mind blowing.
Julia Holter's music reminds me of Julee Cruise, who did the music for the original Twin Peaks soundtrack. Try to find it, it's very haunting and beautiful.
cool episode and really nice picks!
Great choices! 👌🏻
Love him.!!!!!!!!!💓💞☺👍
Great choices!
I havent been "FAN"often in my life, but i can say i was a big fan of J.M.Jarre in my youth! Oxygen, Equinoxe, Chants Magnétiques, Rendez Vous. WHAT A TRIP !!! in my "Autoreverse Walkman" :)
Lost Themes II is a fantastic album, quite raw sound..
*Legend!*
Living Legend.......
Love JMJ since Rendezvous!
a legend and a wizard of electronica
Such a badass
yay he's great ! from my hometown too
Amy Winteria Lyon?
Yep
pure genius. respect
wow he looks very young
legend
Damn, our tastes for music almost match each other up. Junk and Mayday were also albums from 2016 that I liked and listened to so much.
jean michel jarre is a genuis,
Damn he look's so damn good for his age still cute as ever.!!!!!!!!!!!!💓👍☺😁
This guy is a genious between us
He always looks so young!
“Moby is like the Woody Allen of techno” - blimey, that didn’t age well.
Man I LOL'd hard when he said that. He's not far off.
tbf the French have a reputation for overlooking the dodgy personal conduct of artists
"Age" as well as the scandal from 40 years ago? What needed to not age from this interview til now?
love you jmj
great :-)
Moby as the Woody Allen of techno is SO ACCURATE.
Good taste :)
Damn, hard to believe he's pushing 70. Descendant of Isildur or what?
sheesh! really? Damn he's looking good. He must be drinking the blood of virgins....
Hahaha......who can 'tell' what he does, our Jean Michel ;-}
He said himself that he is a vampire !!! 🦇
nver thought he was on th level of schulze and schneider but i respect him a lot. cool picks.
fantastik :D
Me gustas mucho
Get Nicolas Jaar on the show. That would be super interesting.
yes!
are they related ?
@@emin5488 One is a Jarre and the other is a Jaar, so it's highly unlikely they are related
JMJ is cool man
Moby
Hes also A big shadows fan
Junk- M83 great choice
If you can look like JMJ in your 70s you are very lucky.
Jean Michel jarre hoje, continua lindão.
Ele parece Tony stark😄😄😄
'I 💙💙Space doggy...so cute
Gesaffelstein please !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh, Cool...you were able to get Dieter - from Sprockets ! - a bit "Eurotrash" in the taste department. His Dad was a fine composer, though.
Do Carpenter Brut or Perturbator.
Bastien Lacôte oh god please
Bastien Lacôte I got hooked on Perturbator last year, so that would be awesome.
What a jerk
That would be amazing.
Looks like a combination of Deniro and Sam Rockwell.
Deus está fazendo compras!
Ye
👏👏👏😍😘🙌🎧✡👑
jesus Murphy what is this guy on I definitely want some he looks great i on the other hand
Shame the knife wasn't mentioned I'm sure he knows of them if he liked m83
Are all of your "What's In My Bag?" segments filmed in the Hollywood location?
+Zach we have more available video crew in our Hollywood store, so most episodes happen there, but there are plenty of great episodes from our Bay Area stores as well.
I read Jim Micheal Vincent but instantly knew i was wrong, damn it Rick and Morty.
Что-то я совсем не врубаюсь в эту музыку... "Электроника" Совсем не полезла кроме двух треков...
Can we get Connan Mockasin or The Black Angels, Amoeba?
Connan has played our LA store, but he was a bit under the weather at the time. We didn't get a WIMB, but he and Black Angels would be cool.
Julia Holter likes this ! ......I guess ?
HE NEVER MENTIONED VANGELIS ...
Why should he?
bobby moby ?
who is this guy?
JMJ should hang out with Rick Springfield...
He did not choose Georgio Moroder....hmm strange...
most probably he already has his albums
Is it weird to say I find him to attractive
Life Is WEIRD Yes, but weird is good.
??? carperter ok since 1978 !
do mild high club
I find it ironic that a composer of electronic futuristic music is reviewing VINYL in 2023.
There's something deeply ironic about electronic music pioneers preferring their music on vinyl.
/mu/tants we out here .
expected more, obviously the carpenter pick was avg the rest you can keep.not saying he doesn't know the obscure elec. which he obviously does but damn.i bet u can find a cool local that has a more eclectic taste
Julia Holger is great!
I've followed jmj all life and have every single album he released including seeing him in concert......but his taste in music is horrible......moby....really.
Moby is a Legend.
"hes inspired by the 80's" oh wow so is everyone else on the planet for some stupid reason
It was exactly like today. Everybody lived on borrowed money from the banks and then went into a depression during the 90's when it was pay back time, just as we are going to do in the 2020's. ;)
You do realize he dropped his most influential albums during the 70s? He influenced many 80s artists lol
i dont think you can find a 'typical 80's' band that wasnt inspired by this guy's work during the 70's.
The most regretful comment that didn’t do any research on the subject goes to.....
This guy hasn't done anything worthwhile after 1978 "Equinoxe".......and became the James Last of synthy pop......
Don't believe for a second this technobuff wastes the last precious years of his charmed and busy life, playing boring records .......
Any amoebic exposure is welcome ofcourse......
You forgot Zoolook 1984. Thats a masterpiece. After that it became uninspiring elevator music to my taste.
Chris - and what about "Exit"? Love this one too :)
speak for your self, I love oxygen 10 and teo and tea
Noel Makarth I love all 3 volumes of Oxygene
Compared to Amon Duul II who have never done anything worthwhile.
Everything on your channel is garbage btw.
>moby is the woody allen of techno
You mean he's overrated, his output is pretty mediocre and in real life he's an annoying shitty person? Yeah I'd say that's pretty spot on there m8.
what a disappointment
