Really love the look of the leather - my wife bought a Hobonichi cover from Galen and it's a terrific (very hearty) cover.

    Subscribed.
I have their a6, A5 and travelers cover. The last one is so much better than travelers companys cover. It's slightly wider, reducing hangover of inserts and is 4 bands are great. Thanks

Also the 5 pen case is very good and carries an A6 notebook and fits nicely into my carry bag..

Will a field notes notebook fit in the flap on the left?

Thanks for the review, Mick. I have a Galen case - the six pen version - in the same leather, and I do like it. The problem is that it really doesn’t hold six pens, unless we are talking pocket ones...The case has a couple of soft suede ‘flaps’ on each side which serve to protect the pens - but they add to the problem with actually closing the case. This is an annoyance which means that the case really only holds four pens of a standard size... But I still like the case a lot!

i'm thinking of trimming the suede...its just a bit too big.

Adam Glass - yes - I’ve now taken one of the suede flaps out altogether; much better.

I wouldn't buy it due to that metal zipper, since all it takes is one misstep and you can have an expensive pen damaged. Now their A5 Notebook Folio in Forest Green has the same zipper but that wouldn't be a problem, and that thing looks sweet. And the Leather Writing Box is absolutely gorgeous; I have no need for one but I want it.
On another note Mick, I did try the Stifflexible notebook and I'm afraid it isn't up to the task. I really like the design and quirky covers, but the paper sucks. I had show through and bleed through with medium, broad, stub and flex nibs, although I didn't try any fine or extra-fine. I even had show through with Pentel EnerGel pens. It's a shame they don't use better paper like Clairfontaine, because then it would be perfect for me.

CHRIS LJ that was exactly my experience with the stifflexible. Terrible paper but very cool books

Oh, and the A5 folio is coming up for review soon

Great review. Look like very good products for the price. Not sure about curvy zips. Not had good experience with zips that go around curves. My bad luck perhaps.

Is it a tottoo of a pen nib?
