I’ve done this, not intentionally, but if it is a novena I’m doing for personal reasons, I usually do two days in one the next day, or if it’s a novena like towards a holy day, I do the same thing even though I won’t get the promised indulgences. No prayer goes to waste, nor does worthy reception of the sacraments. I might mention the latter in confession, but if it was not my fault, there’s no sin. If I got lazy, kept putting it off, then fell asleep, yes, I’d confess it, although probably a venial sin so long as it wasn’t my bad intention to offend God by skipping a day of the novena!
