This super deadly technique is very effective for catching trout throughout North America. They are fishing on the beautiful Farmington River in Connecticut.

Question, is the 10 foot 3 weight essential, or can I use my 9 foot 5 weight?
Eric, it is definitely not essential. It is probably best you learn how to do this with your 9 foot 5 weight and ensure you like/enjoy this technique. If you learn to love it, then in the future you can consider the option of buying a 10 foot for 3 weight. Have fun learning and have a good season
